Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 533: Chapter 327: Daily Chitchat

Admiring the lanterns and enjoying the lake and performances, by the time everyone returned to the manor, it was almost midnight.

Since it was very late, nobody was eager to leave. Liu Hongcai directly arranged for them to stay in the courtyard of Liu Bo’s place, planning to take Liu Bo and Liu Ze back to Xiangmu Village together tomorrow.

If someone else were to look at this, they would think the Liu family was being severely disrespectful. An esteemed County Magistrate, with a wife making a fortune, and yet they sent the elderly to live in the countryside at someone else’s house!

They didn’t even keep their own son nearby. It’s simply the behavior of a stepfather and stepmother!

But when it comes to the Liu family, it seems perfectly normal.

If Liu Bo was really made to stay at home, he would be even more displeased.

After staying up most of the night, Xiaomi practically dozed off during her wash and went straight to bed, falling into a deep sleep without knowing when the others left.

Of course, everyone else was the same, to the point that when they woke up the next morning, it was almost noon!

Fortunately, the Liu family servants had already prepared breakfast. Everyone hurriedly finished eating before quickly setting off back home.

Even though there were long-term workers looking after the house, and instructions were given before leaving, there were still so many things to worry about, especially since the usually trusted Auntie Yang and Qixi were not in the village this time. How could they not be concerned?

By the time they swiftly returned home, it was almost time to prepare lunch.

Knowing that their parents were concerned about the chickens, ducks, and geese, Xiaomi jumped off the carriage and waved to her parents: ”Mom, Dad, you go take care of other things. My older sister and I will prepare lunch.”

”Alright, Yu’er, you all should also tidy up your books. School starts tomorrow, and you must not slack off.”

”Aunt, I had already tidied everything up two days ago. Let me help with cooking as well. It’s a good chance to practice my skills since I’ll be taking exams this year, right?”

Jiang Hu unlocked the door, and Liu Ze followed Xiaoxue inside. Wei Ziang walked beside Xiaomi: ”I’ve packed everything too.”

Jiang Yu could certainly understand their intentions.

So he simply pulled Jiang Wei to clean up their room. Even if it was already tidy, it could always use more tidying, right?

Jiang Hu didn’t overthink it. He viewed all the children as his own, and he was pleased to see their friendships, not imagining that his two daughters had already caught someone’s attention.

He checked the livestock with the stepmother and made sure they were all well. The eggs were collected and placed in the house beside the stable, waiting for the Liu family steward to come and collect them.

After making the rounds, since the kids were preparing the meal, Jiang Hu wasn’t in a hurry to return home but rather took his wife to the pigsty.

”Step-mom, shall we find a couple of aunties who know how to raise pigs to help us with that?”

Initially, he thought of hiring two men, since men are stronger, making it easier to carry pig feed and feed the pigs.

But then decided it would be better to hire two aunties since the step-mom checks on the pigsty daily.

Thinking this, Jiang Hu sneaked a glance at his wife.

He hadn’t read many books and couldn’t come up with elegant words, but he knew his wife had only become more beautiful over the years. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ

Fairer and more delicate, looking even better than when they first got married!

As a man, though he wouldn’t stop his wife from going out or meeting people for these reasons, he wouldn’t allow anyone else the opportunity to approach his wife either.

Thus, after hiring long-term workers to help with the fields, he often accompanied his wife to work.

But Jiang Hu would never express these thoughts; he would only quietly think to himself.

Being the father of several children, he certainly couldn’t let the kids find out he had such thoughts.

The step-mom naturally was unaware, so when Jiang Hu made the suggestion, she immediately nodded.

”I also think it’s a good idea. We paired the two young sows before the end of last year, and in just over a month, they’ll give birth, so it will be a busy time.”

It’s said the first litter doesn’t yield many piglets, and having four or five would be considered good. However, they bought several young sows last year, and three more will soon be paired.

A sow’s pregnancy lasts three months, and after that, they feed the piglets for about a month. Once the piglets are weaned, the sow can be paired again not long after.

Typically, a sow can give birth twice a year, so with five sows, the family will always be kept busy.

The step-mom learned many tips from Aunt Xiaocao, knowing that after a sow gives birth to piglets, someone must stay nearby because, with one careless move, the sow might crush the piglets.
