Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 534: Chapter 327: Daily Chitchat (2)

According to Little Grass’s mother’s experience, after the piglets are born, they are kept in a separate place and brought back to nurse every hour at first, then taken out again once they’ve eaten.

This way, the loss of piglets can be minimized as much as possible.

”By the way, Brother Hu, Little Grass’s mother learned pig farming from her own family. Last time, I heard her say that her sister-in-law was looking for work. Why don’t I go ask?”

Jiang Hu: ”Doesn’t her sister-in-law raise pigs herself?”

Logically speaking, raising a few more pigs herself isn’t worse than working outside, and she can also take care of her family and handle household chores.

”It’s said she had a fight with her mother-in-law. It seems Little Grass’s grandmother scolded her aunt for being lazy, saying she did all the pig raising and feeding herself, while Little Grass’s aunt did nothing and just lazed around at home.”

”I don’t know the specifics, just happened to overhear her mention it once in conversation.”

Talking about this, Second Aunt felt a bit empathetic; back in the day before she had Xiaomi and Jiang Wei, she also went through a lot.

Issues between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law are often not something that can be explained in a few words.

If Brother Hu hadn’t decisively taken them away back then, who knows what could have happened.

Who would Xiaoxue have been sold to, whether Xiaomi and Jiang Wei could have survived, or if Jiang Yu would have had the chance to learn to read — these were all uncertainties.

Quickly reining in her thoughts — those things are all in the past now. Her family is now perfectly happy, with a pair of children. Things couldn’t be better.

Those things that didn’t happen will never happen now.

Jiang Hu didn’t think much of it, just nodded: ”Then go ask in the afternoon, and also see if Little Grass’s mother knows anyone who can do the work.”

As for Little Grass’s mother? Not in consideration at all.

Little Grass’s mother raises two sows herself, with a minimum of four litters of piglets a year, which also earns quite a bit when sold. Besides, she has a young son only two or three years old, where would she find the time to work?

”Sure, she’s been raising pigs for so many years and knows a lot of people, she’s bound to know.”

As they were talking, they stepped out of the pigpen and encountered Xiao Nan, who was guarding it, and spent some leisure time teasing him a bit. Estimating that lunch was almost ready, they prepared to return.

”By the way, now that the Spring Festival has completely ended, it’s the perfect time to find people to set up the duck shed. Also, Liu Bo and Xiaomi want a fishing pavilion; while the weather is cool, let’s get these things done first.”

Not only is it cool now, but there’s not much to do in the fields either. Soon, it’ll be time to plant corn and sorghum, prepare sweet potato seedlings, and then it’s on to harvesting rapeseed and wheat — a whole series of tasks.

Second Aunt nodded: ”Alright, I also need to find a few people. There’s over an acre of pea shoots that need picking. If we don’t pick them quickly, in a day or two they’ll become old.”

The temperature is gradually rising now, and the crops and vegetables are growing rapidly. If you don’t pay attention, it seems they’ll age quickly.

The two discussed the upcoming tasks, walking hand in hand over the small bridge, and Jiang Hu specifically held Second Aunt’s hand to prevent her from slipping.

From a distance, it looked especially warm and beautiful, as if a sense of serenity surrounded them.

However, this atmosphere was quickly broken by a little figure who jumped out: ”Mom and Dad, come eat, we’re just waiting for you.”

It was Jiang Wei, sent to fetch his parents home.

”So soon? What delicious food are we having today?” Second Aunt’s face instantly lit up with a smile.

The biggest regret was probably being stressed during pregnancy, which led to Jiang Wei being born weak.

But as long as Jiang Wei could grow up safe and healthy, without illness or pain, she was immensely satisfied. Though he looked a bit thin, it didn’t affect anything.

”Second Sister said we ate too richly yesterday, so today we’re having something light. She made congee and stir-fried some greens.”

”We did eat a bit much yesterday, let’s go, let’s eat.”

The three of them returned, and the children had already set the food on the table — green bean porridge.

Aunt Yang and Qixi had already taken their meals to the front yard, and the driver who brought them back had long departed.

Seeing the three return, Xiaomi scooped a ladle of hot water.

”Come wash your hands and eat, then do other things after.”

Second Aunt came over with a smile: ”My Xiaomi has grown up and can manage the household.”

Xiaomi playfully stuck out her tongue: ”Mom, go ahead and tease me, I’m not embarrassed.”

Originally, only Second Aunt teased her, but these words made everyone else laugh out loud.

Xiaomi certainly wasn’t shy — let them laugh, she didn’t care, and continued urging everyone to wash their hands and gather at the table to eat.

Last night, the Liu family had prepared a feast, almost all meat dishes, many of which they had not eaten before, or even seen.

And cooked by a chef, the color, aroma, and flavor were impeccable, paired with the joy of gathering with friends for the new year, it was inevitable to eat a bit more.

However, having eaten so much meat, even the next day, they still felt greased out. Eating green bean porridge and stir-fried vegetables now felt immensely comforting.

Even Liu Bo ended up eating half a bowl more porridge than usual and leaned back in his chair, patting his somewhat stuffed stomach.

”Getting older, indeed it’s better to eat lightly. Ate too much meat yesterday, felt uncomfortable in the stomach all night. But after these two bowls of porridge, feel right better.”

Xiaomi pouted: ”Grandpa Liu, there was clearly also a vegetable dish last night — you just ate too much meat.”

Though it was just a vegetable soup, it was still vegetables!

Liu Bo, being called out, didn’t mind. In fact, he stroked his beard and appeared even more at ease.

”That vegetable soup I tasted — not good, not as good as home-cooked.”

True enough, meat dishes were fine since the Jiang family raised them themselves, but vegetables — once used to home-harvested, the bought ones they had yesterday really didn’t taste as good.
