Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 245: Chapter 205: A Busy Morning

Wei Ziang didn’t have to go to school the next day. They followed a five-day study schedule with a day off in between, after all, the teacher was getting on in years and needed some rest.

Early in the morning, before dawn, Second Mother had already cooked and headed to the fields with Jiang Hu.

Since Wei Ziang didn’t have school that day, Jiang Hu didn’t have to deliver vegetables either, as long as he delivered enough the previous day.

As Jiang Hu guided the ox to plow the fields at the front, Second Mother followed behind, picking out the sorghum and corn roots that were turned up, and then used a hoe to tidy the large clumps of soil again.

Jiang Yu wasn’t home, so now Xiaoxue was the oldest at home, fully taking on the responsibility of being an elder sister. By the time Xiaomi woke up, the bed beside her was already cold.

Yes, indeed, although one was six years old and the other eight, the two sisters still shared a room. However, Jiang Wei insisted he was grown up and moved out of Wei Ziang’s room.

In the inner courtyard, there were only six rooms in the left and right wings. The three rooms opposite were occupied by Liu Ze, Uncle Liu, and Jiang Yu — all filled to capacity.

If Xiaomi moved out, someone else would inevitably have to go to the outer courtyard. Xiaomi figured it wasn’t good for anyone to move out, so she simply discussed it with her second sister and decided they might as well continue living together.

Fortunately, the room wasn’t small, and the two sisters living together didn’t feel crowded. Moreover, Jiang Hu had especially made two more cabinets for them, making it convenient to store their things.

Xiaomi yawned as she sat up, tidied herself up briefly, and shivered when she pushed the door open to go outside.

It’s autumn now, and it was still quite chilly in the early morning and late at night.

”Meow~” Xiao Mi jumped down from the eaves, circling around Xiaomi’s feet.

Xiaomi bent down and stroked it twice: ”Xiao Mi, you’re up too.”

”Xiaomi.” Wei Ziang came from behind the kitchen: ”I heated some water, go wash up first, and I’ll go call Jiang Wei.”

Xiaomi stretched lazily: ”Alright, by the way, big brother, has second sister already gone to the chicken coop?”

”Yes, she’s already gone. But second sister has already eaten, she said we should eat ourselves, no need to call her.”

Xiaomi nodded: ”Okay, then after eating we’ll go help too.”

There were nearly three hundred chickens, both wild and domestic, along with rabbits, ducks, and geese in the household. There were also pigs to be fed. Although no single task was particularly arduous, together they added up to quite a workload.

After washing up, Xiaomi went to the kitchen, where a sifter covered the chopping board. Lifting it, she saw homemade hand-pulled noodles, and in the vegetable basket beside it, there were washed greens and three eggs.

Just then, Wei Ziang brought Jiang Wei over, and Xiaomi poked her head out the window: ”Big brother, Xiao Wei, do you want fried eggs or boiled eggs?”

”Fried...”

”Just boiled eggs, it’s easier.”

Jiang Wei only managed one word before he fell silent.

Because it’s useless even if he doesn’t!

Sure enough, Xiaomi nodded directly: ”Alright, then boiled it is.”

Then she turned around, added water, placed the three eggs in, and started the fire.

Jiang Wei pouted, not surprised at all.

Unless no one else had an opinion, otherwise his sister would never take his opinion into account.

A pat on the shoulder: ”Go wash up yourself, I’ll help your sister with the cooking.”

Jiang Wei waved his hand, letting him go without worrying about him.

One person started the fire, while the other prepared the bowls. Once the water boiled, they let the eggs cook for a while before adding the noodles so that by the time the noodles were done, the eggs were also cooked.

Honestly, he preferred fried eggs, but unfortunately, with the exception of Second Mother and Xiaoxue, anyone else in the house made fried eggs that turned into egg drop soup, and no one did it any better.

”Xiao Wei, later you wash the dishes. After that, big brother and I’ll go collect eggs. Once you finish washing, go find me some bugs in the field, I need to feed the birds.”

Honestly, regardless of how they were cooked, the family’s meals were delicious, better than the flavors found at restaurants outside.

So, even though he initially wanted fried eggs, enjoying boiled eggs now still tasted great.

Upon hearing his sister’s instructions, he nodded vigorously, fearing that if he was slow, he might get a scolding.

”Sis, what kind of bird is that you brought back yesterday? It was ugly, and it scared Mother a lot.”

Xiaomi was the older sister, Xiaoxue was the second sister, and Jiang Wei had called them this way since he was young. Everyone got used to it and immediately knew who he was referring to. ℯℯ𝘭.

”No idea, let’s raise it for now. Once it grows up, we might recognize it.” Xiaomi fibbed without lifting her head.

A bowl of noodles, an egg, and a couple of slurps. It would be great if he had a carton of milk too.
