Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 228: Chapter 199: Staying Behind (2)

Wei Ziang also hurriedly bowed: ”Thank you, Auntie.”

Seeing Xiaomi so happy, the second aunt couldn’t help but smile, and seeing Wei Ziang being so polite, she was very satisfied.

This child is indeed just as Xiaomi said, very well-behaved.

”Alright, you two go play outside first, I’ll tidy up a bit. Tonight, your big brother and Tiedan need to sleep here too.”

Xiaomi pulled Wei Ziang out again: ”Big brother, let me show you around our home. You can stay here as long as you like from now on.”

Wei Ziang nodded vigorously: ”Mm! Thank you, Xiaomi.”

Xiaomi led Wei Ziang around, introducing the household and even took him to the outhouse.

Wei Ziang was a bit quiet, but he listened attentively.

Xiaomi didn’t find it strange, knowing that Wei Ziang’s situation was quite different from most people.

Wei Ziang’s room was next to Xiaomi and Xiaoxue’s. Although his clothes and shoes were old, they were clean.

After confirming there were no scars on Wei Ziang’s head, the second aunt heated some water to carefully wash his hair.

He couldn’t take a bath, so he used a wet cloth to wipe areas without wounds. Xiaomi had also helped him wipe his hair before, but it wasn’t as clean.

”Such beautiful hair.” The second aunt praised while washing his hair.

The two small ones and a grown-up were in the courtyard, sitting on small stools, with a basin of hot water and some soap for washing hair nearby.

Soap was crushed with a mortar, then lathered in the palm, and applied to the hair.

Xiaomi took a gourd ladle, scooped up half a ladle of water, and gently poured it down.

The first two rinses were pitch-black water, not much difference felt, but by the third rinse, it was noticeable how smooth and soft the hair was.

It was also glossy black, better than the family children’s hair.

Xiaomi nodded, just like pecking rice, agreeing eagerly.

In her mind, Xiaomi speculated that this big brother’s family must be either rich or noble, but unfortunately, aside from his tattered clothes, there was nothing on him to identify who he was.

Considering his wounds, there is a reason to believe something must have happened in Wei Ziang’s family.

But luckily, he has amnesia and remembers nothing.

Whatever he went through or suffered in the past, he’s forgotten it all and can now grow up peacefully and happily.

After washing his hair, she used a cloth to dry it off: ”Xiaomi, help Mother light the fire, Xiao Wei, you sit here too, and you can dry your hair in the meantime.”

”Okay, Mother. What are we having for dinner?”

”Mm.”

Compared to Xiaomi’s lively and cheerful voice, Wei Ziang appeared very quiet.

”We’ll have noodles for dinner. I’ll knead the dough, you two boil the water, and when others get home, we can cook the noodles.”

”Tomorrow, the field should be drier; we can plant vegetables then. In less than half a month, we’ll have fresh greens to eat.”

Currently, there is plenty of grain at home, but not having vegetables is unfortunate. Apart from the little bit of pickled vegetables, there’s nothing else.

”Alright!” Xiaomi pulled Wei Ziang towards the kitchen, making the second aunt shake her head.

Xiaomi, who was already energetic, seemed especially excited today.

For dinner, with the handmade noodles, the second aunt also cut a bit of pickled vegetables, placing a little in each bowl, adding some flavor, better than nothing, right?

Before going to sleep at night, Xiaomi didn’t forget to remind Wei Ziang not to be afraid or anything.

The caring demeanor made the second aunt shake her head, while Jiang Hu on the side stroked his chin, pondering the two children from a distance.

”What are you looking at, Tiger Brother? Is there something wrong with them?” The second aunt nudged Jiang Hu’s arm, a little puzzled.

Jiang Hu frowned slightly: ”Second Aunt, don’t you think Xiaomi cares a lot about that boy?”

The second aunt immediately understood Jiang Hu’s point, finding it both funny and frustrating: ”What are you thinking? Xiaomi is only three years old, and Xiao Wei was brought back by her, of course she’s concerned.”

”Really?” Jiang Hu was half-convinced.

”Alright, alright, let’s get some sleep. There’s more work ahead.”

The second aunt gestured for Jiang Hu to go to rest, not forgetting to call Xiaomi, who was standing at Wei Ziang’s door: ”Xiaomi, time to sleep, it’s getting late.”

Finally out of her chatty mode, Xiaomi said: ”Oh, okay, I got it, Mother.”

Then she said one last thing to Wei Ziang: ”I’m just in the room next door. You sleep early too, tomorrow I’ll take you to play in the field.”
