Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 232: Chapter 200: Registered as a Member of the Jiang Family (Part 3)

Second Aunt was already making clothes in the courtyard. The weather at home was getting hotter, so summer clothes needed to be made, especially for Jiang Yu, who had grown taller again; last year’s clothes no longer fit him.

Then there’s Wei Ziang and Tiedan. Although they have old clothes of Jiang Yu’s that can be refashioned, they can’t always wear old clothes. It’s always good to have at least two sets of new clothes.

Xiaoxue was also beside them, holding a needle and thread, learning to make clothes for herself. Meanwhile, Tiedan was playing around with a small shovel in the courtyard.

Seeing the two of them carrying things back, they smiled and put down what they were holding: ”You’re back, Xiaomi. Did your father also come back?”

”Yes, yes, he’s in the back. Mother, Father helped Little Brother get registered in our household.”

Xiaomi happily announced this good news to her mother.

Second Aunt was pleasantly surprised: ”It’s done! The last time we went to town, they said we needed to wait. Now it’s all settled, and little Wei doesn’t have to worry anymore.”

Just as she was speaking, Jiang Hu came over leading the water buffalo, holding a jar in his hand, and with his other hand, he pulled the household registration book out from his chest.

”Look, as Little Wei doesn’t remember his birthday, I set it as the day he came to our home as being five years old. It should be close enough.”

That was the day Xiaomi brought him home.

The household register is for the entire Jiang family. To register a child, you must first go to the village chief to state the reasons, the child’s birth date, etc.

Second Aunt originally couldn’t read, but over the years, taking the opportunity when she had nothing to do, she learned a bit with Jiang Hu. After Jiang Yu went to school, when he came back, he would teach his younger siblings, and she occasionally looked on.

Over time, even though she still couldn’t write, she could at least recognize some characters.

After carefully looking over it, Second Aunt was very satisfied: ”Now it’s good. Little Wei can live at home with peace of mind.”

Second Aunt carefully put away the household register. Such things cannot be left anywhere carelessly.

Jiang Hu properly stored the things and listened to the reading sounds coming from the eldest son’s room. He said to Wei Ziang:

”In the future, every afternoon, you all study reading with your eldest brother for half an hour. In two more years when Little Wei turns seven, he’ll also go to school in town.”

Jiang Hu never expected things like passing exams, but learning more knowledge, even recognizing an extra character, is always beneficial.

Moreover, Jiang Hu clearly felt that after several months at school, plus those months of drought when Uncle Liu taught his eldest son daily, the eldest son now was much steadier than before.

It seemed like he had matured.

So Jiang Hu truly believed that going to school is very necessary, especially when the conditions allow it.

Wei Ziang was a bit stunned for a moment, then nodded vigorously: ”Okay!”

Jiang Yu had to study for an hour every morning and practice writing for half an hour.

Unfortunately, the Xuan paper was too expensive. Even in the Jiang family, there wasn’t enough money to buy ink and paper daily, so Jiang Yu simply practiced writing with clean water. When it dried, it could be used again.

Uncle Liu didn’t say much about this, since practicing writing was merely to make the hand steadier with the pen and make the characters look better, which could be achieved with water as well.

However, this could only be in the early stages. In time, real ink would still be needed, as it’s indeed somewhat different.

Xiaomi had already run off to watch Second Sister make clothes, not forgetting to feed Second Sister a piece of candy.

Her Second Sister particularly liked sweets, but unfortunately, Xiaomi still hadn’t thought of a good reason to bring out the candies from her space reasonably.

So frustrating.

”Xiaomi, you eat it yourself, I won’t eat anymore.” Xiaoxue shook her head after eating a piece.

She did like sweets, but she wouldn’t eat a lot by herself and usually just tasted one.

Xiaomi shook her head: ”I don’t really like sweets.”

Then, she quickly fed another piece to Second Aunt and waved to Wei Ziang: ”Little Brother, come over, have some candy.”

Jiang Yu had just finished his studies for the morning and came out of his room when he heard this: ”Why does only Little Brother get some, and not Big Brother?”

Tiedan also waddled over after throwing aside the little iron ball: ”Sister, I want some too!”

Xiaomi quickly shared a piece with each of her brothers, of course, Father got a piece too!

Second Aunt, watching, couldn’t help but smile gently, looking at the various little radish heads in the courtyard, her heart soft and warm.

Although there were many children at home, the siblings had a great relationship. In Second Aunt’s heart, this was what true siblings were like.

For lunch, Second Aunt made fish soup. The fish were caught from the river and had been kept at home for several days now.

Where these fish came from was a mystery. When the riverbed dried up, not a single fish bone was seen, let alone fish.

But once the river filled again, the fish quickly appeared, and they were just as easy to catch as before.

The large stone vat from the old house was also brought over.

Jiang Hu and Second Aunt belatedly remembered the little turtles, but when they checked, they found nothing. They lamented, thinking they had been stolen.

To this, Xiaomi just hummed a couple of times, claiming she didn’t know anything.

As for the little turtles growing well in her space, even not needing to hibernate, they were better left to stay in the space for now!
