Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 240: Chapter 203: Three Years Later (Part 2)

In the eyes of most people, cats are the kind that you have to seek out, and they rarely come to you. Don’t even think they’ll come when you call them.

But the kitten raised by the Jiang family is different. If others call it, it may not respond, but if Xiaomi calls it, it will definitely come running fast!

Xiaomi is a tabby, or you could say a Chinese Li Hua, which is essentially a brown spotted tabby cat. The tabby stripes, paired with the brown color, make it look a lot like a tiger.

Of course, in protecting the family’s grain, Xiaomi is indeed as brave as a tiger!

Catching mice or lizards is child’s play. Catching snakes or vixens, that’s a regular thing!

Jiang Wei saw the three figures running off into the distance and shook his head helplessly. His sister had become more lively than when she was little.

Then he resigned himself to bringing all the things back home.

As for whether his sister going up the mountain alone would be dangerous?

Heh, others might hope not to encounter any danger.

Remember three months ago, when two traffickers sneaked into the village and almost kidnapped Liu Qiang? They were caught by my sister, who commanded Xiao Hei and Xiaomi to bite the traffickers half to death.

You should know, Xiao Hei is not an ordinary dog; it’s a wolfdog!

With good food and growing strong, it’s almost half as tall as a person now. It lunges directly at people and can bite their necks or shoulders with its jaws!

As long as Xiaomi and Xiao Hei are with her, there’s almost no need to worry about Xiaomi’s safety. Everyone feels at ease.

Xiaomi was panting as she climbed the mountain. She used to be too young, and even with Xiao Hei accompanying her, her parents wouldn’t allow her to go up the mountain alone.

So even though she had many ideas in her mind, she couldn’t implement them one by one.

Thanks to those two traffickers from three months ago, everyone witnessed the combat effectiveness of Xiao Hei and Xiaomi, so she was allowed to go up the mountain, of course, with the condition that she takes Xiao Hei and Xiaomi with her.

Xiaomi had waited many years for the chance to go up the mountain on her own. She was so excited—running to the mountain every few days.

In the beginning, everyone was anxious. Luckily, she always returned safe and sound, so eventually, everyone relaxed, letting her run all over the mountains as much as she liked.

What no one knows is that Xiaomi had spent two months searching the mountain for a safe, suitable, and rarely visited place where it could get sunshine.

She couldn’t help it; she’d been eyeing the peacock and ostrich eggs in her space for a long time, but there’s no sun in the space, and she couldn’t use the solar incubator!

The device is too big to keep indoors, and now she finally had the chance to go out on her own. Of course, she’d hatch a few little peacocks first, right?

Counting the time, today is the twenty-seventh day.

Twenty-seven days ago, she finally found a place under a small cliff where there was a recess, with few trees around and almost no trace of people passing by.

She set up the solar incubator, not forgetting to make it rainproof and waterproof.

According to the instructions, she prepared everything and added water every two or three days to maintain the temperature in the incubator.

Using a machine to hatch peacock eggs takes twenty-seven to twenty-eight days, so if they don’t hatch today, they’ll hatch tomorrow.

Xiaomi grew more excited the more she thought about it, her steps quickened considerably.

When she was almost there, she suddenly slapped her forehead: ”Oh no, I forgot to bring a small bamboo basket. Oh well, what if they don’t hatch today.”

Yet, much to Xiaomi’s excitement and frustration, when she approached the incubator, she saw several of the peacock eggs had just developed cracks!

”This is a case of coming neither too early nor too late!” Xiaomi’s eyes were almost glued to the glass of the incubator.

Peacock eggs are about the size of goose eggs, but with thicker shells. According to the information she found, if a peacock can’t break out of its shell, it will need a manual assist.

So, Xiaomi almost held her breath, not even blinking, watching the already cracked peacock eggs, just in case one ran out of strength, and she needed to help.

But it was clear that Xiaomi’s worry was unnecessary.

Perhaps the water used for humidifying was from the Spiritual Spring, allowing these incubating peacock eggs to absorb a faint amount of Spiritual Energy from the air.

The scenarios Xiaomi feared never occurred.

The baby peacocks struggled to break free from their shells, taking almost half an hour to crawl out one after another.

”So ugly!” Xiaomi’s first reaction was this.

They were a drab gray, like half-grown quail, and because they’d just crawled out of their shells, they were still wet, looking like soggy chickens!
