Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 238: Chapter 202: Untitled

Xiaomi also pretended to look for fish, but her peripheral vision was fixed on Wei Ziang. When she noticed him looking away, she quickly stopped releasing the Spiritual Spring water.

”Oh yeah, I totally forgot.” She withdrew her hand naturally, having already released some Spiritual Spring water. She’d come back in a few days.

Just as she was thinking, Wei Ziang suddenly pointed in front of Xiaomi, ”Hey, Xiaomi, look! Fish are coming!”

Xiaomi quickly looked over, and sure enough, a few fish swam over from the bottom.

Before Xiaomi could take a closer look, she heard Wei Ziang continue, ”There was nothing here just now. Could it be that the fish know Xiaomi’s here and came specifically to see her?”

Even he himself opened his mouth in surprise.

Xiaomi felt troubled inside; it must be the Spiritual Spring water attracting them. It seemed she needed to come alone next time, without bringing anyone.

On the surface, she pouted, ”No way, fish don’t understand what we’re saying.”

Wei Ziang suddenly realized, ”You’re right, it just seems to be a really nice coincidence.”

They moved closer to look at the lotus leaves by the steps, but there wasn’t much else to see. Plus, the sun was getting quite intense by then, so they headed home.

On the way, they passed by the village chief’s house where they were planting rice seedlings. They suggested Xiaomi could come and catch yellow eels in their fields when she was bored.

Xiaomi cheerfully agreed, and after they walked a bit farther, she explained to a puzzled Wei Ziang why everyone was so happy to have her in the fields catching eels.

Even though he didn’t understand the reason behind the space and the Spiritual Spring, Wei Ziang still found it quite amazing.

”No wonder last time when we went eel-hunting, Aunt didn’t stop us. When Xiaomi goes to the fields, she always catches something.”

Just like last time, they wandered around the field, and there was nothing, but after a while, yellow eels emerged.

Thinking back to earlier by the pond, all the fish were at the bottom, and as soon as Xiaomi arrived, they surfaced on their own.

Xiaomi pouted, ”It’s not as magical as they say. I think it’s all just a coincidence.”

Little Snow, holding Iron Egg’s hand, covered her mouth, giggling softly.

”It’s definitely not a coincidence. Xiaomi is a Little Lucky Star descended to Earth. Because of Xiaomi, the family’s getting better and better.”

No matter what Xiaomi said, whether it was family or the villagers, they all believed it.

But nowadays, everyone had learned to keep a low profile and not spread it around.

This was mainly because someone once dared to target the Little Lucky Star’s power, trying to make it rain, which taught the villagers that wealth shouldn’t be flaunted.

The Little Lucky Star was the treasure of the village, who could let outsiders covet it? They shouldn’t let people from other villages know!

Xiaomi sighed helplessly, too lazy to argue anymore.

Who knew Wei Ziang also nodded, ”I think so too. Xiaomi is a Little Lucky Star. If I hadn’t met Xiaomi, I might be dead by now.”

Xiaomi rolled her eyes to the heavens, ”Okay, okay, I get it. Let’s not talk about this, okay? Let’s go to the fields to find Mom and Dad, alright?”

This topic could be endless.

”Let’s play in the fields! I want to play in the fields too!” Iron Egg was all ears at the mention of finding their parents.

Little Snow said, ”Then let’s go back and tell Big Brother, so he won’t come looking for us.”

They jogged back and saw Big Brother Jiang Yu coming out the door. Seeing them return, he breathed a sigh of relief.

After all, with the little ones by the pond for so long without returning, who wouldn’t worry?

Knowing they were going to the fields to find their parents, Jiang Yu didn’t stop them, just told them to bring some hot water.

Everyone had a bamboo flask. Even Wei Ziang had a new one, filled with cool boiled water, slung over their backs like they were marching into battle.

Due to half a year of drought, the wheat that could have been plentiful had withered before it could grow to maturity. They’d have to wait until next year to surprise the commissioner with an abundant harvest.

Fortunately, the rice wasn’t affected, and this fall’s harvest was bound to be a big surprise!

The little group played along the way, stopping at two places before finding their parents. Second Aunt was pulling weeds, and Jiang Hu was building up the sweet potato ridges.

Corn and sorghum can be intercropped with peanuts and soybeans, and also with sweet potatoes.

The previously planted sweet potatoes had grown lush vines thanks to the added cow manure.

But to plant sweet potato vines, you must first make sweet potato ridges, raised about a foot above the ground, making it easy to dig sweet potatoes later on.

The loose sweet potato ridges not only allow rainwater to quickly seep through during the rains, preventing sweet potatoes from getting soaked, but also help them grow bigger!

Xiaomi called out happily to her parents while pondering that besides sweet potatoes, potatoes can also be a filling staple food.

Unfortunately, in all these years, she’d never seen potatoes in Fu’an Village or Xiangma Town, not even heard of them.

It seemed, given the chance, she could bring out the potatoes.
