Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 243: Chapter 204: Made a Foolish Mistake

He squatted down and carefully checked Xiaomi from head to toe, especially pinching her arms and legs, to make sure she was not injured, and only then did he feel at ease.

At the same time, Jiang Hu also noticed what Xiaomi was holding in her arms.

”What is that? Something you caught?”

Xiaomi: ”No, Dad, I found this. It’s a bird chick, I don’t even know what kind. When I saw it, they were just about to hatch.”

Then Xiaomi pointed to the ground beside her.

”Dad, big brother, look, there are eggshells over there, really big ones, as big as goose eggs. They must be from a big bird. Let’s take these chicks home and raise them.”

In the dim moonlight, the white eggshells could still be seen on the ground.

But there was no time to study them further now; Jiang Hu squatted directly in front of Xiaomi.

”I’ll carry you back. I thought something had happened to you before. Your mother must be worried sick at home. Let’s go back.”

They had forgotten to bring anything when they came, and the things in Xiaomi’s arms weren’t easy to transfer either, so Xiaomi simply held them sideways while lying on her dad’s back.

”Ziang, also be careful and watch where you’re going, don’t fall.”

Once they entered the forest, it became even darker, but fortunately, after the eyes adjusted to the darkness, it wasn’t so uncomfortable.

I have to say, thanks to Xiaomi’s Spiritual Spring Water, the Jiang family, nourished by the Spiritual Spring Water over a long period, was not only almost never sick but also had heightened senses.

Xiaohei and Xiaomi were completely unaffected, and Xiaomi honestly recounted her afternoon activities.

At least, except for the incubator, everything else was quite truthful.

They had run very fast on their way here, taking only two to three quarters of an hour, but when they finally found their way down the mountain, it had already been an hour.

Jiang Hu looked at the sky: ”It’s almost the hour of the pig. Ziang, you head back first and tell your aunt so she won’t be worried.”

As he said this, he put Xiaomi down and stretched his back. After carrying her for so long and bending carefully so she wouldn’t fall, he indeed felt a bit tired.

”Let me go instead. Dad, hold this for me. I’m not tired and I can run fast.”

Without waiting for Wei Ziang to nod, Xiaomi stood on tiptoe, placed the bundled lotus leaf package in Jiang Hu’s arms, then turned and took off at a run, not forgetting to call Xiaohei and Xiaomi.

Along the way, she had wanted to say she could walk by herself as long as her dad held the little peacock for her, but he insisted she couldn’t see the road and wouldn’t agree.

Luckily the foot of the mountain wasn’t far from home, and Jiang Hu let her go on her way.

”Let’s go, we’ll walk slowly and take a rest.” Jiang Hu breathed a sigh of relief after climbing the mountain for an hour and running quickly, it was indeed exhausting!

Wei Ziang quietly pinched his thigh, nodded, and followed his uncle slowly back home.

Jiang Hu hefted the lotus leaf package in his arms: ”What’s this thing? It’s quite heavy. How can such newly hatched chicks be so big?”

Wei Ziang reminded him: ”Xiaomi found them, she must really like them. Uncle, be careful not to squeeze them to death.”

Jiang Hu quickly took his other hand out of the lotus leaf package: ”I was just looking to see what kind of bird they are. Honestly, they are really big and fluffy.”

Just when they saw the house gate, someone carrying an oil lamp walked towards them: ”Dad, Ziang, hurry up.”

It was Xiaoxue.

The two quickened their pace, and after the three of them joined together, they returned home. With the oil lamp, visibility was much better.

”Xiaoxue, where’s your mom? Have you seen Xiaomi?”

”Yes, Mom was scared to death, crying while holding Xiaomi. Xiaomi is comforting her now.”

Not only was the second aunt anxious, but everyone was worried. After Jiang Hu and Wei Ziang rushed off with Xiaohei, the remaining three at home were all in a tizzy, even losing the mood to cook dinner.

”It was indeed quite scary, good thing Xiaomi is alright.”

The three of them returned home, and when passing through the corridor, they saw peanuts scattered on the ground.

Wei Ziang: ”I accidentally knocked over the peanuts earlier.”

The basket for holding peanuts was also tipped on the ground, which showed just how worried everyone at home was earlier. Not to mention cooking, no one even picked up the scattered peanuts.

”Dad, big brother, you’re back.” Xiaomi ran out from a side room: ”Mom, look, Dad and big brother are back. We’re really all fine.”

The second aunt followed out of the room, wiping her eyes: ”It’s good that you’re alright, it’s good that you’re alright. Xiaoxue, come with me to the kitchen to cook, we’ll just eat something simple tonight.”
