Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 249: Chapter 206: Zhang Xiaohua (2)

Unexpectedly, that girl directly walked toward them, and the sisters simultaneously stopped what they were doing, looking at her in confusion.

The girl seemed to be intimidated by their uniform gaze and nervously shrank back a bit, then pretended to be strong and tried to muster a smile.

”Excuse me, are you Sister Xiaoxue?”

Xiaoxue looked back at her bewilderedly, ”I’m Xiaoxue, are you looking for me? I don’t know you.”

The girl’s face flushed, and Xiaomi quickly said, ”Second sister, she’s also from the village. We’ve seen her a few times before, she lives at the village entrance, quite far from our home.”

From one end of the village to the other, it’s indeed quite far.

As for her name, Xiaomi couldn’t remember it for the moment and could only look at the girl along with her second sister.

The girl seemed to be an introverted child, and being stared at made her even more nervous, but she gritted her teeth and tried to be brave.

”My name is Xiao Hua, Zhang Xiaohua, I live by the riverside at the village entrance, and my father is Zhang Li, who has worked at your house during busy farming times.”

Xiaomi’s eyes lit up, and she exclaimed in surprise, ”It’s you! I’ve heard Uncle Zhang mention you. Uncle Zhang said you’re amazing, raising more than twenty chickens and two pigs all by yourself!”

This isn’t just talk; she truly took care of them herself from the time she bought them, gathering pig feed, cleaning the pens, cooking and feeding them, without any adult help!

Uncle Zhang has a decent relationship with her father, always among those hired when they need help during busy farming times, including Uncle Zhang.

Uncle Zhang’s family consists of this eldest daughter, two sons, one younger sister, their parents, and the couple must work hard to support the whole family.

Being praised by Xiaomi, Zhang Xiaohua’s face turned even redder, but she waved her hands repeatedly, ”No, no, you all are amazing, taking care of so many chickens, ducks, and geese.”

Xiaomi grinned, ”Well, we have a lot of people, but you’re on your own. By the way, Sister Xiaohua, why were you looking for my second sister?”

While talking, Zhang Xiaohua kept sneaking glances at the second sister, and when she came over, she directly called out the second sister’s name.

It’s clear she came specifically for the second sister.

Xiaoxue also looked at her puzzledly, making Zhang Xiaohua even more nervous.

However, despite the nervousness, she hadn’t forgotten her purpose.

Zhang Xiaohua looked at Xiaoxue with anticipation, ”Sister Xiaoxue, can I learn embroidery from you?”

Perhaps afraid Xiaoxue would reject her, she hurried to explain, ”Don’t worry, I’ll pay for the lessons, just, just need to wait until I earn some money. I’ll definitely pay you back later.”

Zhang Xiaohua was anxious and nervous, afraid Xiaoxue hadn’t heard clearly and even more afraid she’d be rejected.

Xiaoxue paused for a moment, ”Embroidery? Learn from me? But I’m not that good at it.”

Zhang Xiaohua’s face instantly showed disappointment, her mood deflating in an instant, but she still forced a smile, ”Oh, I see, then I’m sorry to disturb you. I’ll head back now.”

With that, she indeed turned around to leave.

”Wait a moment, Sister Xiaohua.” Xiaomi quickly stopped her.

Xiaomi rolled her eyes, ”Sister Xiaohua, we’re almost done here, why don’t you wait for us, go back together and meanwhile tell us why you want to learn embroidery?”

Zhang Xiaohua looked at Xiaoxue and then nodded, ”Sure, how many more clothes do you have? I’ll help you wash them.”

She said as she walked over and squatted next to them, then picked up a dirty piece of clothing and started washing, no longer nervous at all.

Xiaomi had noticed something.

Though unclear why, Zhang Xiaohua definitely came for the second sister, hoping to learn embroidery from her.

Earlier, when the second sister said she wasn’t good at it, she was being honest as she truly thought she wasn’t good enough.

But when Zhang Xiaohua heard it, she assumed the second sister was rejecting her, which left her disappointed.

However, Xiaomi also noticed that Zhang Xiaohua, despite being disappointed, wasn’t harboring any resentment or negativity.

After all, an eight or nine-year-old child doesn’t harbor so much bitterness.

Thus, Xiaomi called to stop Zhang Xiaohua, letting the second sister chat with her more and ask why she sought her out.

After all these years, it’s the first time someone proactively approached the second sister.

Of course, Xiaomi also had another private reason, ever since she was born, all six and a half, almost seven years, the second sister’s world had revolved around taking care of her siblings and various household tasks.
