Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2873: Chapter 2010: Two Thieves (Part 2)

Hearing Bai Xiaosheng say that, Lei Ying had no choice but to nod in agreement, and Lin Weiwei also didn’t want to take any risks.

It seemed like this matter would come to a halt here.

”Anyway, let’s just enjoy this trip first. It’s time to relax; no need to think too much about other things.” Bai Xiaosheng said with a smile.

At that, Lin Weiwei perked up and said with a smile to the two, ”Yesterday, when I opened my suitcase, guess what I found. Fei’er somehow slipped a good bottle of wine into my luggage, a four or five-year-old Romanee-Conti! Imagine sipping on that on the big terrace in the room, feeling the sea breeze, enjoying the sea view, that would be fantastic!”

Bai Xiaosheng immediately slapped the table and stood up, ”What are we waiting for? Let’s go drink it!”

Lei Ying also looked full of anticipation.

The three of them immediately agreed and got up to head back the way they came.

On the way, the three excitedly discussed what kind of taste that four or five-year-old Romanee-Conti might have.

With their knack for wine, they naturally had an exceptional ability to appreciate it.

Moreover, the best part of wine tasting isn’t the moment of drinking itself, but the anticipation, the imagination, and then, in the midst of eagerness, the moment the wine enters the throat, when imagination and reality align, and when expectations are met or even exceeded, that sense of satisfaction is truly blissful.

So, the three would naturally not miss such a fine moment of communion.

Unconsciously, they walked back to the area where their rooms were, turning down a corridor, when Lei Ying, flushed with conversation, suddenly looked ahead, his eyes narrowing, instantly shifting to a cautious stance.

Bai Xiaosheng and Lin Weiwei were startled by his sudden change and lifted their eyes to look.

They saw two figures hunched over in front of a door, sneakily fiddling with something.

That door was Bai Xiaosheng’s room.

On such a ship with good security facilities, there was actually a thief!

The three exchanged glances, feeling astonished.

Lei Ying gestured to Bai Xiaosheng and Lin Weiwei to stay put while he himself rushed forward.

For someone as large as Lei Ying, his movements were swift but utterly silent.

Lin Weiwei had heard Lei Ying talk about his technique before; he explained how landing on the forefoot first and coordinating the leg muscles could allow one to move as lightly as a cat, sounding arcane and implausible, let alone executing it in reality.

But seeing it with her own eyes now, to witness Lei Ying, as solid as a mountain, move with the stealth of a cheetah, Lin Weiwei was truly convinced...

Bai Xiaosheng always believed Lei Ying could do it because with Red Lotus’s help, he could achieve the same level.

At this moment, Bai Xiaosheng’s gaze was sharp as he watched the two thieves trying to break into his room, his eyes narrowing thoughtfully.

Over there, at the door.

A fat man and a skinny man, both Caucasian, holding special instruments, focusing on Bai Xiaosheng’s door lock, wearing maintenance worker vests, with a repair warning sign beside them.

Thus, even if someone passed by, they wouldn’t suspect them.

These two should have made sure there was no one in the room by knocking or some other method, so they boldly started picking the lock.

”How’s it going? Not done yet? The people inside should be out for breakfast, we shouldn’t be here when they get back.” The skinny man urged anxiously.

The fat man wiped sweat from his forehead and muttered, ”Relax, who comes back right after breakfast? There’s so much fun stuff on this ship.”

”Is the program you wrote reliable? It can only filter a range value, trying each password one by one, it’s driving me nuts.” The skinny man leaned in to look at the numbers on the instrument display in the fat man’s hand.

The fat man replied with dissatisfaction, ”You layman, you think I’m cracking this lock directly? That would take way longer. My gizmo detects the oil residues on the touchscreen, then analyzes the remaining amount to identify the key positions and simulate sequences, giving a very narrow range of values. It’s brilliant, okay?”

”Alright, alright, stop the chatter, hurry and try, this set is...9725.” The skinny man impatiently went to press the lock’s touchscreen, then said, ”No no, next one.”

”Five wrong attempts and it’s locked, alarmed, have to wait a minute, how many are we on this time?” The fat man said, ”One more try, and then we have to wait.”

”Got it, got it.” The skinny man looked at the lock, his finger pausing over it, ”What’s the next set?”

”9527.” A voice sounded.

”9, 5, 2, 7...” The skinny man mumbled as he inputted.

As soon as he typed in the last number, there was a ”clack” of the lock opening, and the skinny man joyfully exclaimed, ”It’s open!”

However, he suddenly realized that the voice that had told him the number wasn’t his partner’s.

”Lai Mo!”

A slightly panicked and flustered voice came from beside him, which was indeed from his partner.

At the same time, a robust arm thick as a python, as hard as steel, wrapped around his neck.

The situation was the same with the fat man, a powerful arm pressing on his shoulder.

The skinny man named Lai Mo, his neck stiffly turned back.

A cold, large face appeared in front of him, with piercing eyes deep and cold like an animal.

”The door’s open, right? Want to stay inside for a while?” The owner of that face said politely.

However, the fat man and the skinny man knew that this politeness was based on them being sensible.

If they weren’t sensible, the iron arms on their shoulders would quickly make them so.

The skinny man named Lai Mo squeezed out a smile, nodding repeatedly, ”No need to be polite...”

Lei Ying turned around, tucked one under each arm like chicks, with Bai Xiaosheng and Lin Weiwei also walking over.

”Of all the people, you chose to steal from us.” Lei Ying said coldly, ”Isn’t that plain stupid?”

The fat and skinny man, their faces flushed and necks red from the python-like arms gripping them tightly, hurriedly pleaded for mercy.

In the end, the three brought these two thieves back to the room.

”So, what are your names?” Bai Xiaosheng asked with pursed lips.

The two men were quite obedient.

The fat man pointed at the skinny man, ”He’s Lai Mo.”

The skinny man pointed at the fat man, ”He’s Buchi.”

”These ship tickets aren’t cheap, did you buy them just to come aboard and steal stuff?” Bai Xiaosheng asked again.

Both of them instinctively shook their heads in unison, ”We’re not thieves.”

”Not thieves? So are you really maintenance workers?” Lei Ying sneered.

Lin Weiwei was more direct, ”Let’s just report this to the ship and have security deal with them.”

Upon hearing this, the two’s eyes lit up, nodding repeatedly; it seemed Lin Weiwei’s approach suited their preference.

Bai Xiaosheng squinted his eyes and murmured, ”You two are really interesting, claiming not to be thieves but happy to be treated as such. Usually, you’d plead for mercy, right? It seems you’re okay with being treated as thieves.”

Their faces changed.

Bai Xiaosheng crossed one leg over the other and smiled, ”Then I’ll give you two choices.”

”Either tell me your true identity and purpose.”

”Or...”

Bai Xiaosheng calmly said, ”I’ve lost millions in jewelry here, and I wonder if it’s your doing.”

Upon hearing this, Lai Mo and Buchi turned pale, both shouting——

”We’ve never even set foot in there.”

”You’re accusing us unjustly!”

”The Romanee-Conti bottle from my room is empty, did you drink it?” Lei Ying added.

The two looked at Lei Ying in shock.

”And you intended to molest me,” Lin Weiwei similarly claimed with serious demeanor, ”I hear that offenses against women carry heavy sentences here, several years in jail, right?”

Lai Mo and Buchi stared at the three in horror, never having met anyone so shameless yet terrifying.

This was an attempt to doom them.

Bai Xiaosheng smiled, ”Oh, you’ve committed so many offenses, surely if we report it, many on this ship would report losing valuable possessions, giving you more trouble.”

”So, will you tell the truth or...choose to succumb?”
