Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2859: Chapter 2004: The Selfish Serve Their Own Interests

In less than two days, Golun International’s stock price went through two ”roller coasters,” giving a sense of ”excitement” that was truly unprecedented.

No matter who wanted to take the opportunity to buy in, they dared not act and only chose to watch.

Who knows what the person behind the scenes is up to next.

Major stakeholders worry about stock price evaporation, while small buyers and investors fear getting stuck and unable to withdraw.

So when Bai Xiaosheng and his team began a full-scale sell-off, outsiders merely watched from the sidelines.

However, others can sit back and observe, but Caroline cannot; not only can she not, she has to rush to acquire at the first moment.

After all, it’s an agreement with Vice Chairman Morgan; if those released shares are not regained, it would be impossible to explain later.

Bai Xiaosheng and his team sold at the peak, and Caroline’s team aggressively bought at the peak.

Thus, not only did Caroline’s side invest the planned funds, but they also threw in the preparation funds for emergencies.

That was still not enough, and Caroline even temporarily allocated several funds.

Altogether, they suffered a big loss.

While reclaiming Golun International’s shares, Caroline received news that dozens of the family’s enterprises in Oceania were seized for markets and resources, ”magically” acquired by Vice Chairman Morgan’s companies in a very short time.

And those inexplicably appearing ”shell companies” that attacked both enterprises also magically disappeared from view, leaving no trace.

Even a fool knows there’s something fishy here!

On the fourth day since the events occurred, everything seemed to be back on ”track”:

The Caroline Family held one-third of Golun International’s shares.

Vice Chairman Morgan’s family enterprises, though not completing the planned transformation, had rapidly grown stronger.

Both sides had their ”gains,” seemingly not much different from the original agreement.

But only the Caroline Family knew the cost, expending massive funds, with significant damage to a dozen or twenty of its enterprises.

The only ones fattened were Vice Chairman Morgan Family’s enterprises.

For a time, there were loud complaints within the Caroline Family.

”Sister Caroline, the whole family is greatly enraged by this incident. Of course, it’s not directed at you, but there’s strong dissatisfaction towards Vice Chairman Morgan’s side.”

Robert immediately contacted Caroline to inform her of the situation.

Caroline’s face was somber as she slowly said, ”Robert, you don’t need to cover for me. The family is actually dissatisfied with me, isn’t that right?”

Caroline could guess this would happen.

She had even encountered people criticizing her, but she just pretended not to see.

Robert opened his mouth, saw Caroline looking at him sharply, and had to nod and admit.

Caroline slowly said, ”At this moment, these tricky issues have finally reached a pause. Although it hasn’t been made clear who stirred things up, ruining our plans, I believe Mr. Morgan will give our family a satisfactory explanation.”

Robert hesitated to speak.

”Speak freely!” Caroline signaled him to continue.

Robert then said, ”Sister Caroline, those dozen or twenty companies of ours are now quite troubled. No funds, lost markets, everything fattened by Morgan’s side. As for Morgan’s side, they should have dealt with this first, but there’s still no response. In my opinion, once they’ve eaten the meat... it’s going to be hard to spit it out...”

Robert mentioned this matter, looking quite dissatisfied.

”You don’t need to concern yourself with that; I’ll handle it,” Caroline said sternly.

She naturally understood what Robert was implying.

No matter the reason, Vice Chairman Morgan’s family has eaten the market and resources originally theirs, tasted the sweetness, and it should be spit out.

But it’s likely to be difficult!

Robert continued, ”Also, after this turmoil, Golun International’s stock price is not looking good, showing a downward trend. They’re not following up with funds to support the market, so we either watch the stock price evaporate or invest to push it higher; we’ve already suffered a huge loss...”

Caroline raised her hand to stop Robert from speaking further, saying, ”You go ahead and do your work, I’ll handle it.”

Upon hearing Caroline’s words, Robert nodded and left.

In the study, Caroline was left alone, frowning tightly, silent for a long time.

The whole thing felt peculiar, with a conspiratorial air, although she couldn’t yet see through it.

Nevertheless, regardless of anything, the troubles Robert mentioned really needed to be discussed and resolved quickly with Vice Chairman Morgan.

Caroline set aside her worries and dialed Vice Chairman Morgan’s phone number.

Two days ago, she had already communicated with Vice Chairman Morgan.

Vice Chairman Morgan’s intention was to stabilize the situation first, then discuss other matters.

At that time, Caroline had nothing to say and complied.

Now, the situation was settled, and it was time to communicate again.

”Mr. Morgan, it’s Caroline, can we meet?”

When the call was connected, Caroline spoke softly.

”Meet me at that café I usually go to; we’ll meet there,” Vice Chairman Morgan responded on the phone.

”I’ll head over right now.”

After hanging up, Caroline wasted no time, calling Robert to accompany her and drove to the café.

The café was actually part of Vice Chairman Morgan’s family estate, and Caroline was a frequent visitor there.

So when Caroline appeared, the café manager smiled, personally greeting her, and directly took her to the private room.

The wait wasn’t long before Vice Chairman Morgan also arrived.

Robert and others waited outside, leaving the private room for the two to have a confidential conversation.
