Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2872: Chapter 2010: The Two Thieves

To avoid alerting those people from Binge, Bai Xiaosheng led Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying out of the café, moved up one floor, and found a small terrace.

The floor they were on had not only a large public area but also many small terraces for people to rest.

It’s the kind of place where five or six seats could create a little secluded corner of the world.

Bai Xiaosheng and the others found a secluded and empty spot to sit down for a confidential conversation.

”I really didn’t expect that among those people, the one named Binge is actually the vice president of HBB Company!” Seeing no one around, Lin Weiwei couldn’t contain her surprise as she spoke to Bai Xiaosheng and Lei Ying.

She was familiar with HBB Company because she and Lei Ying had done some homework about the major corporations in Wan Yu prior to this trip.

It was precisely because she knew about it that Lin Weiwei was so shocked.

How could HBB Company, a renowned group corporation, have such a shallow and young person become vice president?

Lin Weiwei recalled Binge’s words and actions and couldn’t help but shake her head discreetly.

Even though there must be more than one vice president at HBB Company, and Binge’s position might not hold significant power, it’s still too absurd.

”Perhaps his father is someone formidable,” Lei Ying speculated.

Bai Xiaosheng had Red Lotus search for related information in advance. Now, he took out his phone, searched it, and showed it to Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying. ”Be confident, you don’t need to use ’perhaps’ in your sentence, Binge’s father is the general manager of HBB.”

Seeing this, Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying instantly understood.

”And that Tiwei’er—” Lin Weiwei thought for a moment, identifying which woman it was, then said, ”the elderly person with them said she belongs to Mr. Morgan’s family. Could that Mr. Morgan be our Vice Chairman Morgan?”

Could it be such a coincidence?

Bai Xiaosheng smirked, ”Throughout our journey in Oceania, we’ve encountered numerous instances of people from Vice Chairman Morgan’s family being involved with the group’s subsidiaries. Is having one more really that surprising?”

This left Lin Weiwei speechless.

”I just didn’t expect to run into such people and situations even here,” Lin Weiwei remarked with deep emotion.

One would think it was a leisure trip, but unexpectedly, they ran into situations related to work.

At this moment, Lei Ying, rubbing his chin, said thoughtfully, ”I’m very concerned about one thing.”

Bai Xiaosheng encouraged Lei Ying to continue.

”Actually, I’ve been curious from the beginning,” Lei Ying said, ”The elderly and middle-aged men look like attendants. Now that’s interesting!”

”What are these people gathering together for?”

”Are they here to have fun? But who would bring an old man and a middle-aged man as attendants on a leisure trip, especially when accompanied by a beauty and handsome man? Wouldn’t that be a mood killer?”

Lin Weiwei also found this situation intriguing.

Bai Xiaosheng, maintaining his composure, signaled Lei Ying to continue.

”Also, I always felt that the middle-aged and elderly men aren’t from the same group. Do you remember, when we first encountered them on the way to the elevator, their positioning, walking, and gaze clearly indicated that one was with Binge and the other with Tiwei’er.”

At this point, Lei Ying revealed a playful smile, ”Now, that’s interesting. Putting aside Binge, would Vice Chairman Morgan’s family send an old man to tail a young woman like Tiwei’er?”

”Strange!” Lin Weiwei immediately nodded.

”So I guess, those young people hanging out together, seemingly on a trip, is perhaps just a cover or a facade. In reality, Binge might be visiting somewhere under the pretense of HBB Company’s vice presidency, and Tiwei’er tagging along back to Wan Yu could genuinely be for fun. But with that old man in tow, there must be some private dealings involved, perhaps to meet Binge’s father, the general manager of HBB Company.”

Lei Ying, being meticulous and good at observing and thinking, found it not too difficult to arrive at this conclusion.

Lin Weiwei looked at Lei Ying with admiration as if he were a genius.

”Don’t look at me with such admiration; he noticed it too. You should be admiring him instead.” Lei Ying said, pointing at Bai Xiaosheng.

Immediately, Lin Weiwei shifted her gaze to admire Bai Xiaosheng.

”I only thought of it because he prompted me, so you should admire him,” Bai Xiaosheng laughed, pointing at Lei Ying.

At this, Lin Weiwei gave them both a mischievous glare.

”Fine, I’m the only fool who didn’t notice. Okay? Look at you two, complimenting each other like that. What do you call this? You call this mutual flattery in business.”

Lin Weiwei was not pleased.

Bai Xiaosheng and Lei Ying quickly comforted her.

”No, no, actually, our Weiwei is the smartest.”

”Leave this minor analysis to us, your role is much bigger.”

The two of them made a good team in calming her down.

Lin Weiwei snorted, giving them both another eye roll.

After the joke, Lin Weiwei proactively said, ”It seems these people are really unusual. Shall we investigate them?”

Meeting by chance, encountering them unintentionally, it’s actually difficult to start an investigation from this situation.

Lei Ying said to Bai Xiaosheng, ”I think they might be carrying some important documents. Shouldn’t I find an opportunity to look for them?”

More concealed, covert, and undisclosed collaborations often have special documents that establish a sort of ”trust” and deterrence between the involved parties.

Bai Xiaosheng thought it over but shook his head.

”First of all, we don’t even know for sure if such documents exist, much less who is carrying them. It could be the middle-aged man, the elderly man, Binge, or Miss Tiwei’er. Secondly, doing such things on a ship carries risks, and there’s no need for us to take that risk. We can wait until we get to Wan Yu; there’ll still be time.”
