Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2864: Chapter 2006: Mrs. Margery’s Invitation (2)

The three were chatting when they heard someone knocking on the door.

”I’ll go check.” Lin Weiwei put down her coffee cup and got up to walk over.

”It should be Fei’er.” Bai Xiaosheng looked in the direction Lin Weiwei left.

Lei Ying nodded as well, thinking the same.

For almost a year now, Fei’er had been practically inseparable from them. This early knock on the door could only be her.

Of course, Bai Xiaosheng and the others didn’t send her away; they kept her as a colleague.

Fei’er had been invaluable in solving the corporate crisis, her dedication and ability were commendable.

Unfortunately, their positions were ultimately somewhat different.

Lin Weiwei quickly returned, with Fei’er trailing behind.

”Mr. Sheng, you all seem quite leisurely, enjoying the sea breeze and coffee here. Being so relaxed, why didn’t you invite me?”

Fei’er sat beside Bai Xiaosheng, with a hint of blame in her expression, ”You only think of me when it’s time to work!”

Bai Xiaosheng chuckled, ”The capable work more, Miss Fei’er, your abilities have been astonishing this past year. I plan to suggest to Mrs. Margery that you be promoted to a regional manager overseeing ten to twenty companies; you’re capable of it.”

”Thank you for your praise.” Fei’er smiled, appearing both amused and pleased.

Lei Ying greeted Fei’er with a smile.

Lin Weiwei made a cup of coffee and handed it over with a smile, ”Here, with milk but no sugar.”

Having been together for so long, they understood each other’s habits.

Fei’er accepted it with a smile, ”Thank you, Weiwei.”

After sipping the coffee, Fei’er nodded repeatedly, then put the coffee down.

”Miss Fei’er, you’re here on business, aren’t you?” Bai Xiaosheng looked at Fei’er and asked with a smile.

With Bai Xiaosheng’s observational skills now, figuring this out was extremely simple, especially since Fei’er wasn’t trying to hide it.

”You noticed? Mr. Sheng’s gaze is sharp; sometimes I suspect you can read minds.” Fei’er laughed and said, ”Actually, my mother intended to call you about this, but I found out unintentionally, so I thought I should let you know in advance since I’m by your side.”

Bai Xiaosheng looked inquiringly.

Fei’er didn’t beat around the bush, saying directly, ”My mother’s side is almost finished dealing with the trouble, but you’re quicker. To thank you for your contribution to our Sixth Business Division, she wants to treat you to a meal before you return to the group HQ, to thank you personally, and then propose that the entire Sixth Business Division recommend a reward for you to headquarters...”

So that’s what it was.

Bai Xiaosheng intended to say something polite, but before he could speak, his phone rang.

He picked up the phone, glanced at it, then smiled and showed the displayed name to Fei’er, ”Looks like I need to express my gratitude directly to Mrs. Margery.”

The call was indeed from Mrs. Margery.

Fei’er stuck out her tongue and said with a smile, ”Looks like I’m a bit late in telling you.”

While speaking, Bai Xiaosheng answered the call and held the phone to his ear, smiling, ”Mrs. Margery? This is Bai Xiaosheng.”

After a brief exchange of pleasantries, the topic of the call seemed to come up, causing Bai Xiaosheng to laugh, ”Miss Fei’er is right by my side discussing this with me, and you called just now. You’re being too kind, this is merely part of the group’s arrangement, my duty...”

After some polite exchanges, Bai Xiaosheng agreed, ”Then I shall respectfully accept, as I was thinking of discussing with you. Where shall we meet?”

Upon hearing Mrs. Margery mention the location on the phone, Bai Xiaosheng squinted his eyes slightly, though his voice remained calm, ”You’re planning on Wan Yu in Afeiland, huh.”

”I’m fine with it, anywhere is good.”

”Four days later? Sure.”

Bai Xiaosheng accepted the invitation over the phone.

Lin Weiwei and Fei’er were casually sipping their coffee, showing no signs of concern.

Lei Ying’s eyes, however, seemed to flash, indicating he was touched.

Afeiland is considered one of the top countries in Oceania, with vast land, a highly developed economy, and a position among the leading developed nations.

Zhenbei Group has many large enterprises in Afeiland, no fewer than five companies, and over twenty small to mid-sized companies clustered together. Their presence shows great importance attached to the region.

Wan Yu is the largest city in Afeiland.

Bai Xiaosheng had been interested in it early on and often suggested Wen Yan send more people over.

However, Afeiland is Mrs. Margery’s ”private reservation,” and they’ve had no opportunity to visit so far.

Unexpectedly, Mrs. Margery actually invited Bai Xiaosheng for a meeting there now, presenting an opportunity.

Lei Ying believed Bai Xiaosheng surely had similar thoughts.

After being polite with Mrs. Margery, Bai Xiaosheng hung up the phone and teased Fei’er, ”Miss Fei’er, your news was quite timely. Mrs. Margery also says you need to handle our itinerary and accommodations.”

Fei’er immediately smiled, ”No problem, I already have arrangements.”

Speaking, Fei’er pulled a beautifully printed page from her bag and handed it over, ”Are you all satisfied with these arrangements?”

The three of them curiously looked at it.

On the page was an image of a huge and luxurious cruise ship.

”Moonlight Bird Princess... cruise, huh.” Lin Weiwei recited the words aloud, incredulously glancing at Bai Xiaosheng and Lei Ying before turning her gaze to Fei’er, ”We’re taking a cruise to Afeiland?”

Fei’er quickly replied, ”A three-day, two-night trip. I’ve already booked the super luxury suite, which was extremely hard to secure!”

Bai Xiaosheng laughed silently, ”Flying wouldn’t be faster for us?”

”You, why must everything be rushed all the time? What’s wrong with taking a cruise? Everyone’s been working hard for so long, can’t they just relax and enjoy? Flying? Wouldn’t you be letting down Weiwei, Lei Ying, and me...”

Fei’er fired off questions like a machine gun when Bai Xiaosheng voiced his dissent.

Lin Weiwei also looked at Bai Xiaosheng expectantly.

Lei Ying, on the other hand, didn’t seem to care either way.

”Alright, alright, we’ll take the cruise then.” Bai Xiaosheng shrugged.

He didn’t want to be seen as a ”tyrant” by Fei’er over this, and everyone deserved some relaxation after working so hard.

Fei’er and Lin Weiwei cheered enthusiastically, both women were very eager.

”That’s more like it. You have no idea, the luxury suite’s price has already soared to hundreds of thousands, and I’ve worked hard to keep it reserved. We need to secure the tickets quickly.” Fei’er dragged Lin Weiwei and dashed off.

Watching them, Bai Xiaosheng shook his head with a smile.

”Do I need to fly over in advance?” Lei Ying asked while sipping his coffee.

If Bai Xiaosheng wished to gain from this trip, he needed to be well-prepared ahead of time.

Bai Xiaosheng smiled at Lei Ying, ”No need, we have plenty of people over there, and the information collected should be substantial. Contacting our people in advance should suffice. Besides, if you break away from the team now, it might cause suspicion. And you’ve been working hard for so long as well, take a break.”

With Bai Xiaosheng’s words, Lei Ying naturally agreed and smiled, nodding.

By noon, Lin Weiwei and Fei’er returned, saying everything was arranged, and they’d be boarding the ship and setting off in the afternoon.

The timing was tight. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

But fortunately, everyone’s luggage here was light.

Over the past year, there were plenty of instances when they’d already been accustomed to sudden departures.

Bai Xiaosheng had the expression of ”Whatever you say, I’ll let you handle it,” happy to play the role of a hands-off manager.

At four in the afternoon.

The group drove to the port and saw the luxurious cruise from the promotional flyer—”Moonlight Bird Princess.”

The ship was hundreds of meters long, twenty stories high, reportedly with two thousand crew members and accommodating ten thousand people. The ship boasted a floating city vibe with water parks, green plant squares, full-size basketball courts, bars, and cinemas.

Bai Xiaosheng, having flown around the world for years, was experiencing a cruise for the first time, and as he looked up, he couldn’t help murmuring, ”Hmm, it feels pretty nice.”

”Maybe this will be a great travel experience.”
