Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2789: Chapter 1973: Mr. Guoba’s Unexpected Predicament

Bai Xiaosheng and the other two rode in Mr. Guoba’s luxurious and comfortable business car, arriving at their destination in just half an hour—Liwu Island, in front of a towering building dozens of floors high in the center of Melantobas City, with the name ”Lan GO Company” prominently displayed.

Mr. Guoba led Bai Xiaosheng and the others out of the car and walked them inside.

Perhaps it wasn’t his first visit. As soon as the people inside saw Mr. Guoba, they greeted him politely.

A manager-like person, with a smiling face, jogged over to greet him and walked alongside Mr. Guoba, repeatedly saying, ”Mr. Guoba, you’re early this time, the first to arrive. Our Mr. Abbot knows you love civet coffee and has especially prepared it for you. Why don’t you head to the lounge for a cup?”

As he spoke, the manager curiously glanced at Bai Xiaosheng and the others.

This time, Mr. Guoba brought five attendants, including three with Chinese faces.

When Mr. Guoba saw him glancing at Bai Xiaosheng, he coughed, making the manager withdraw his gaze.

”Who else is coming this time, the usual people?” Mr. Guoba asked.

”The usual ones.” The manager smiled.

As they spoke, they had reached the elevator lobby.

Once they stopped, Mr. Guoba smiled and said to the manager, ”Manager Laka, you can get busy. We’ll head up on our own.”

The manager folded his hands in front of him, bowed slightly, and smiled, saying, ”Thank you for your consideration, Mr. Guoba. It’s the same lounge as before, and I’ll arrange for refreshments to be sent up for you.”

Mr. Guoba nodded.

Just then, the elevator stopped, and the manager was quick to open the door for them.

Afterward, he watched as they boarded the elevator, maintaining his upright posture until the door closed.

”How many times have you been here?” Inside the elevator, Bai Xiaosheng quietly asked Mr. Guoba, ”You seem to be well-acquainted here.”

Mr. Guoba grinned and said, ”I handle these matters regularly. I’m familiar with everyone up and down here.”

He was quite proud of himself.

Bai Xiaosheng smiled and asked, ”Who is this Mr. Abbot?”

”Mr. Abbot?” Mr. Guoba explained to Bai Xiaosheng, ”He’s the vice president of this company. He’s the one who usually communicates such matters with us. Also, those who come today, like me, are all from famous big enterprises within Mogran Country. They all have significant business dealings with Lan GO Company. We’re all happy to lend a hand since all the tender documents and quotes are prepared by Lan GO Company. We just have to come, sit down, and have a cup of coffee. The matter is easily settled, and in the end, Lan GO Company rewards each of our companies with some orders as thanks. For those of us attending, there are benefits as well.”

Mr. Guoba didn’t treat Bai Xiaosheng as an outsider, revealing all this.

Bai Xiaosheng nodded slightly upon hearing it.

This seems to be a regular procedure for Lan GO Company, showing they’ve done this numerous times.

Bai Xiaosheng quickly thought it over and instructed Red Lotus to search online information to see how many such tender meetings Lan GO Company has held in recent years.

Currently, this company operates under Mrs. Margery and belongs to the group’s Sixth Business Division. Even though Bai Xiaosheng is the second in command in the Headquarters’ Inspection Department, he has no authority to directly access all their internal affairs. He can only rely on external media information.

Fortunately, when Lan GO Company conducts these tenders, they not only meet the group’s audit requirements but also release news to the public.

Releasing such significant information greatly helps to build corporate image and expand influence, which they naturally wouldn’t miss.

Red Lotus quickly found the tender meetings Lan GO Company held in the past five years.

The number was so large that even Bai Xiaosheng couldn’t help but raise his eyebrows.

This is just one company. If there were ten, a hundred companies, the issues behind the Sixth Business Division are simply shocking!

Soon, the elevator stopped.

Mr. Guoba led Bai Xiaosheng and the others out.

It seems they had received the message from the manager earlier, as a staff member from Lan GO Company was waiting outside the elevator.

She was a sweet-looking female employee who warmly greeted Mr. Guoba and led them to the lounge.

In the lounge, everyone sat down, and refreshments were brought in.

The aroma of civet coffee lingered as Mr. Guoba tasted it with a greatly satisfied expression.

After the female employee left, Mr. Guoba said to Bai Xiaosheng and the others, ”The civet coffee here is even better than in the restaurant. Are the three of you sure you don’t want to try it?”

The three of them shook their heads directly.

Bai Xiaosheng said, ”This cup of plain water is just fine.”

Mr. Guoba showed a face full of regret instantly.

Since there was no one else in the lounge, and it was soundproofed, Bai Xiaosheng quietly asked Mr. Guoba about the other bidding companies.

One by one, Mr. Guoba detailed them, mentioning that besides familiar faces, there would always be two or three unfamiliar ones.

The eventual winner would come from those two or three.

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying couldn’t help but exchange glances secretly.

As Bai Xiaosheng contemplated, he thought to himself: They are truly cautious. Even knowing it’s all a performance, they still make it appear so genuine, bringing in two or three companies as a smokescreen. It seems they wouldn’t know who the real winner is until the last moment, not even the helpers like Mr. Guoba.

However, this aligns with Caroline’s style!

Before long, the lounge door opened again, and a few more people entered. The person leading them was familiar with Mr. Guoba and greeted him directly with a smile.
