Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2759: Chapter 1960: Struck Gold

The ferry docked, and Bai Xiaosheng and the others disembarked. On the other end of the island lies the tidal power station. Now it was time for them to part ways with their newly met friends and attend to their business.

”Thank you so much for today, I will repay your kindness!”

As they were about to say goodbye, Tieluoga solemnly said to Bai Xiaosheng and nodded to Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying.

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying, having developed quite a liking for this polite young businessman, each said, ”Take care.”

”It was really nothing, you don’t need to dwell on it. It was fate, I suppose,” Bai Xiaosheng said with a smile.

Bai Xiaosheng never thought about letting Tieluoga thank them.

”How can I let that go!” Tieluoga patted his chest and insisted, ”Ingratitude is not a quality a man should have.”

Bai Xiaosheng had no choice but to nod in agreement.

People have their pride, and it’s not good to constantly go against it.

”By the way, do you need help?” Bai Xiaosheng asked.

If Tieluoga needed it, he was willing to invest in this young businessman.

Upon hearing this, Tieluoga waved his hands repeatedly and replied earnestly, ”From now on, I won’t trouble you. I need to rely on myself to rebuild my business!”

Seeing his resolve, Bai Xiaosheng let it go.

Actually, besides investment, Bai Xiaosheng could also give Tieluoga Mr. Leifer’s contact information.

After all, Tieluoga’s business is in spices, and Mr. Leifer claims to have control over all current spice businesses.

However, Bai Xiaosheng thought better of it.

He had just met Mr. Leifer for the first time that morning and didn’t really understand who he was. If Tieluoga ended up being cheated, he would have caused trouble with good intentions.

Moreover, they weren’t familiar enough to offer such help.

Mr. Leifer is looking for a Huaxia businessman who can supply resources, which Tieluoga clearly isn’t.

Furthermore, Tieluoga’s scale of business isn’t compatible with Leifer’s, making collaboration inappropriate.

”Then, I wish you a quick comeback,” Bai Xiaosheng said to Tieluoga with a smile.

Tieluoga smiled back, shook hands with Bai Xiaosheng and the others before turning to leave.

After watching Tieluoga depart, Bai Xiaosheng and his companions hailed a car and headed towards the tidal power station on the other end of the island.

The journey was uneventful.

Half an hour later, Bai Xiaosheng and his companions arrived at their destination, getting off the car.

Finding the power station, they saw a rather spectacular dam, with a reservoir on one side and the sea on the other.

Inside the dam were the plant buildings, housing the power-generating equipment.

For safety reasons, the power station was currently sealed, encased in a barbed-wire fence, and guarded by a security company.

This information had been mentioned during their conversation with Mr. Santos.

Bai Xiaosheng and his companions walked towards the entrance and noticed some people standing in the distance.

”What’s happening over there, is there something exciting to watch?” Lin Weiwei couldn’t help but ask curiously.

It seemed surprising for so many people to gather at a closed power station.

”We’ll know when we get there.” Bai Xiaosheng said, quickening his pace.

As they drew closer, they saw a group of people in security uniforms confronting an older man.

From a distance, the older man appeared to be in his sixties, somewhat overweight, dressed plainly, carrying a fishing bucket and rod, gesturing passionately with his hands.

”I come here fishing every month, why is it not allowed today?”

The chief guard, a bearded man, didn’t look friendly.

”Sir, it’s not just today that’s not allowed, it will never be allowed again! The ones who let you in before broke the rules, and now we’ve taken over, the rules are being enforced again. That’s a reservoir, not a place for fishing. If you want to fish, go to the seaside!”

”Seaside?” The older man frowned, ”The fish in the reservoir are much more tender, plus did you know, I stock the giant bass in there myself.”

The chief sneered, ”The reservoir isn’t your family’s fish pond, who gave you permission to stock fish in there? What if it damages the environment?”

The older man was stubborn too.

”Young man, just because you’ve learned some ecology doesn’t mean you can criticize me! Let me tell you, among my many degrees, there’s an ecologist title. I know what fish to stock and what impact it has on the environment. The previous chief wouldn’t say such foolish things.”

This statement made the chief extremely displeased, ”Right now, I’m in charge here. I say it’s not allowed, then it’s not allowed. If you try to trespass, don’t blame us for being rude.”

The older man replied, ”Okay, I’m not going to argue about academic matters with you. Let’s assume you’re completely right, is that acceptable? I just want to catch one fish, just one, it will only take a quarter of an hour, no, ten minutes is enough. My son is coming home today, and he loves my braised giant bass.”

”Then today, he’ll probably be disappointed!”

”How can you be like this, don’t you have parents?”

”My father wouldn’t come to a power station reservoir and make such an unreasonable request.”

”How is this unreasonable?”

...

Both sides continued to argue fiercely, escalating towards a full-blown quarrel.

As Bai Xiaosheng and his companions drew closer, the guards noticed them too.

One of them immediately approached and, with a solemn expression, gestured for Bai Xiaosheng to stop, ”Dear visitors, this area is closed to the public!”

Bai Xiaosheng and his companions clearly looked like foreigners, more like tourists.
