Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2761: Chapter 1961: Searching for Rogge

Watching Bai Xiaosheng as his gaze became fixed, staring blankly at the carefree ”graffiti” on the ground, things that resembled scribbles indistinguishable from gibberish, he seemed entirely frozen, murmuring to himself, causing everyone to exchange puzzled glances.

The security chief, halted by Bai Xiaosheng’s stern command, stood there motionless, daring not to shift his feet for fear of damaging the ground’s patterns and invoking blame from this distinguished figure who had arrived on orders.

After a brief moment, the security chief recalled something and quickly said, ”I did hear from the former guard here that the old man used to come and fish, sketching on these shores every time. No one knows what he was drawing.”

Bai Xiaosheng suddenly looked up, his eyes sharp as lightning, fixed on the face of the security chief, his gaze somewhat intimidating, akin to a cat zeroing in on a mouse, ”Did he ever enter the dam?!”

”Ah?” The security chief was taken aback, unable to collect his thoughts under Bai Xiaosheng’s piercing gaze.

”I’m asking you, did that old gentleman ever enter the equipment room of the dam?!” Bai Xiaosheng asked solemnly.

”No, absolutely not!”

The security chief, understanding fully now, shook his head repeatedly.

”Even if previous supervisors let him in to fish, they wouldn’t dare allow him inside the dam, as you can see, even when sealed, there are two gates and two checkpoints inside, preventing easy entry!”

As he uttered these words, the security chief felt a pang of regret for his earlier haste in speech.

Should anyone believe the previous supervisor neglected his duty, he might indirectly harm a colleague, and worse yet, he wouldn’t escape some consequences himself.

Bai Xiaosheng stared at those patterns, muttering, ”Without entering, could he have drawn it so precisely?”

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying exchanged glances, their eyes revealing astonishment as they looked at Bai Xiaosheng.

”Weiwei, Lei Ying, let’s go!” Bai Xiaosheng snapped out of his daze and suddenly became urgent, striding outward.

”Oh, alright.” The two nodded and followed.

Watching Bai Xiaosheng hurry past him, the security chief quickly shouted, ”Hey... sir, may I move now?”

”Do whatever!” Bai Xiaosheng’s voice finally relieved the security chief.

Seeing Bai Xiaosheng and the other two walking briskly and far away, the security chief remembered again and urgently shouted, ”Hey, sir, what should we do with the drawings on the ground? What about the fish?”

...

Bai Xiaosheng and the two exited the power station, heading to the nearest road to wait for a ride.

There’s a tourist spot nearby, with quite a number of taxis passing by, and even vendors selling food.

Without time for a meal, the three just grabbed some snacks.

While waiting for a cab, Lin Weiwei couldn’t help but ask Bai Xiaosheng, ”Xiaosheng, what is really going on? What were those drawings you saw just now, why did you get so worked up?”

Lei Ying also looked at Bai Xiaosheng.

”That was no random graffiti, but a disassembly illustration of a crucial part of the main generator,” Bai Xiaosheng explained while eating.

In fact, it wasn’t just drawings; various concise data were marked on it, unbelievably accurate.

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying exchanged a startled glance.

Component diagram?

They couldn’t make any sense of it.

Drawn like that, if anyone could discern what part it was, that would be bizarre...

Lin Weiwei wanted to ask Bai Xiaosheng how he figured it out.

”That means the elderly man named Rogge has a deep understanding of tidal generators,” Lei Ying mused.

”Not just understanding, perhaps an expert among experts. If he hasn’t entered the dam but can deduce the model of the main generator from the structure and draw the core components, imagine the level of expertise!” Bai Xiaosheng exclaimed.

Indeed, it was hard to fathom.

Lin Weiwei muttered, ”Why is he drawing that for no reason?”

Lei Ying also had such a question.

Isn’t he worried about being discovered?

Yet, speaking of which, drawn so messily, even professionals probably wouldn’t recognize it.

Bai Xiaosheng had never dealt with this before, so how did he identify it?

Could it be true, as some say online, that some are inherently sensitive to numbers, shapes, and images...

The two believed Bai Xiaosheng exhibited such traits.

”He’s drawing that...” Bai Xiaosheng slowly voiced his speculation, ”I think he’s deducing the reason for the generator’s shutdown!”

Wear and tear, improper maintenance, can cause damage to essential components, leading to a series of issues.

For a seasoned expert in the field, seeing the power station inoperative, naturally, his hands would itch to sketch and analyze problems while fishing—it’s understandable.

In other words, it’s a professional habit.

Upon Bai Xiaosheng’s analysis, Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying became animated.

”That old man actually has such skills!” Lin Weiwei marveled, ”But if the power station shut down, why hasn’t Kustiel engaged him? Or why hasn’t he proactively contacted the authorities for repairs? Solving the problem here would yield a hefty reward.”

”Moreover, if he has such ability, shouldn’t he be famous, not just an obscure figure?” Lei Ying also expressed his doubts.

Bai Xiaosheng mused silently for a long time before slowly stating, ”Some circumstances, I’d like to know as well. Perhaps, he doesn’t want to be in the limelight, maybe Kustiel is unaware of his existence, and even if aware, might not trust an unknown elder with such vital work. Anyway, let’s find him first.”

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying immediately nodded.

”But, where should we start looking for him now?” Lin Weiwei couldn’t help but ask.

”He said he lives on the west side of this island.” Bai Xiaosheng raised his phone, ”Just now I checked the map; the island isn’t large, and there are only two villages on the west side with few inhabitants, no more than fifty homes. Villagers likely know each other well. We know his name is Rogge; surely we can inquire about him.”
