Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2766: Chapter 1963: Inviting You Out of Retirement (2)

Old Rogge was a bit nervous, ”Is he alright?”

The old man had never hit anyone so heavily, but this time, Tieluoga was in danger, so he was truly anxious.

Bai Xiaosheng glanced back at Baldhead and smiled, then turned and said, ”Don’t worry, although your strike was not light, it’s not deadly.”

”Really? Forget it, I won’t bother.” Rogge looked at Baldhead on the ground, then pulled Bai Xiaosheng inside the house.

Over there, Lei Ying had already beaten the short man so badly that he was clutching his head and fleeing, begging for mercy.

Feeling he had done enough, Lei Ying looked back and saw Bai Xiaosheng waving at him before going inside. Then he turned to the short man and said, ”We’ll end it here today, you got off easy. Get out of here soon or else...”

Lei Ying pointed at the short man with the stick, then casually swung it to strike the blade of the knife on the ground, sending a glint of cold light flying.

With this effortless strike, the blade was directly broken.

The strength, precision, and destructiveness made the short man, who looked up, turn pale with fear, realizing that when he was being beaten earlier, the opponent might have held back.

”I understand, we’ll leave right away, please stop hitting us.” The short man said, tears and snot running.

Seeing this, Lei Ying no longer paid attention to them, turned around and walked towards the courtyard, and as he passed the fence, he reinserted the stick back to its original place.

Watching Lei Ying finally leave, the short man felt like he had survived a disaster, then realized his whole body was in pain, as if his bones were shattered.

He slumped directly to the ground, panting in pain.

As Lei Ying reached the courtyard entrance, he kicked the unconscious Baldhead lying on the ground, ”Stop pretending, get up and leave.”

Baldhead obediently got up, forcing a smile that looked worse than crying, his eyes full of fear, and crawled away towards the short man.

It wasn’t just him; the others who were knocked down by Lei Ying weren’t truly unconscious either, just too scared of the beating. At this moment, they all crawled up and ran toward their boss.

Lei Ying ignored them, directly entering the courtyard and the house.

Baldhead and the others gathered around the short man, their faces bruised, looking dejected.

”Boss, these guys are trouble, and we don’t have firearms with us. We should retreat for now.” Baldhead suggested.

The others nodded vigorously.

The short man couldn’t care about his dignity anymore, just thinking about seeing a doctor quickly, he nodded immediately, ”Stop talking, let’s go!”

Baldhead hoisted the short man on his back, the others supporting each side, and they fled in a sorry state.

On the other side, Bai Xiaosheng and the two others had entered Rogge’s house.

Rogge and Tieluoga tidied up the dining table, invited them to sit on the sofa, and served them coffee.

As they cleared the table, Rogge told Tieluoga in detail about how he met Bai Xiaosheng and his friends at the tidal power station.

It was clear that the old man was grateful for Bai Xiaosheng’s help at the time, not to mention that Bai Xiaosheng and his friends had just saved Tieluoga.

”Father, it’s not the first time they’ve saved me, they rescued me on the ferry earlier!”

Tieluoga also truthfully recounted what happened on the ship to Rogge.

Rogge was both surprised and grateful, thanking Bai Xiaosheng and his friends repeatedly.

”No need to be polite, sir, it was just a small effort for us,” Bai Xiaosheng said with a smile.

Great gratitude should go unspoken; Rogge understood this principle.

Verbal thanks are always superficial; true gratitude should be kept in mind, seeking opportunities to repay.

”By the way, you seem to be looking for my father, is there a reason?” Tieluoga asked curiously.

Rogge also looked at Bai Xiaosheng with inquiry in his eyes.

Bai Xiaosheng smiled at Rogge and said, ”Sir, you must be quite familiar with the Asgard Type III Tidal Power Bidirectional Generator, able to draw the disassembly diagram of its U-shaped part. We came to talk with you about this topic.”

The generator model Bai Xiaosheng mentioned was exactly the one used at the island’s tidal power station.

Rogge’s eyes flashed with surprise, but he did not respond immediately.

”What Asgard Type III, tidal, generator?” Tieluoga repeated the awkward name, looking at his father with surprise, ”What is that?”

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying were suddenly surprised and looked at Tieluoga.

As Rogge’s son, did he not know his father’s area of expertise?

Old Rogge looked at Bai Xiaosheng, then at his own son. In this matter, he had long decided not to conceal the truth, he just didn’t have the right opportunity.

”That’s the model of the main generator at the tidal power station on the island,” said Old Rogge.

Tieluoga only then reacted, surprised, ”All those design drawings hung up in your study; they’re all about this, aren’t they? I remember that since I was very young, the study has been your personal forbidden zone.”

Old Rogge smiled bitterly, ”You can consider it my little hobby. Some people relax by fishing or riding horses, but I prefer drawing—not watercolor or sketching, but rather those rigid data and lines. It’s been decades, I’m accustomed to it.”

Hearing this, Bai Xiaosheng’s eyes slightly brightened.

This also means that Old Rogge hasn’t neglected these matters over the decades!

The Asgard Type III Generator is not an outdated model. To understand its core components requires reading a lot of specialized literature.

”I didn’t know about your hobby,” muttered Tieluoga.

As a child, his father didn’t allow him into the study. As he grew up, he went through his rebellious phase and didn’t communicate with his father. After reaching adulthood, he knew he had to improve their relationship but often spent years away, busy with his own affairs.

As things turned out, he didn’t know what his father truly liked.

Inside, Tieluoga felt an immense guilt.

Old Rogge, speaking till this point, couldn’t help but look at Bai Xiaosheng, his gaze suspicious, ”Young man, how did you know I was skilled in this? Did you see what I drew while fishing? But I draw those in a jumbled and scattered way, even professionals might not recognize them.”

Bai Xiaosheng smiled, ”It’s from what you drew there that I learned of your prowess.”

”I would like to ask you boldly about... your true identity.”

Bai Xiaosheng said, ”To be skilled to this degree, you must be more than just an ordinary person.”

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying also fixed their gaze on Old Rogge.

Tieluoga looked at his father with surprise. Since he gained understanding, he had lived with his father on this small island, living a life neither rich nor poor.

And his mother, long ago, was gone, without any impression left.

Thinking about it now, his father’s source of income was indeed mysterious, and he still didn’t know what his father did for a living.

Old Rogge hesitated on the topic, observing Tieluoga with an inquiring gaze; the old man was silent for a while before continuing slowly, ”It’s been many years, perhaps it’s not something that can’t be spoken of.”

Everyone immediately listened attentively.

”I don’t know if you’ve heard the name Locke?” Old Rogge asked.

The others exchanged blank looks, but Bai Xiaosheng immediately replied, ”That’s the chief engineer of the European royalty, skilled in hydraulic and wind power generator maintenance.”

Old Rogge was quite surprised and looked at Bai Xiaosheng, not expecting him to know.

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying exchanged glances; they had previously heard Bai Xiaosheng mention the European chief engineer, but didn’t know it was this name.

”I once was Locke’s peer and even presided over a few projects, but after an accident years ago, I gave up this field,” Old Rogge said lightly.

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying suddenly remembered Bai Xiaosheng had mentioned someone and such an incident!

In Bai Xiaosheng’s story, an incident occurred years ago where the engineer’s son died, leaving him disheartened and in hiding.

But Old Rogge’s son, Tieluoga, is right here in good health.

Could it be, they’re not the same person...

Bai Xiaosheng, seemingly forgetting the story he told, nodded repeatedly and lamented, ”I didn’t expect the old gentleman to have such a past, truly admirable!”

”The events of that time, whether glorious or sad, are all over. I’ve come to terms with them and won’t mention them again,” said Old Rogge.

”You never told me about any of this, and I didn’t expect you were this impressive,” laughed Tieluoga.

The lack of knowledge about his father made him increasingly remorseful, feeling he spent far too little time with his father.

Old Rogge simply smiled and didn’t say anything more.

Bai Xiaosheng pondered for a moment before revealing the purpose of this visit, ”Actually, we came here to ask you to come out of retirement, to help repair the tidal power station. I wonder if you would agree!”

This statement stunned Old Rogge and surprised Tieluoga.

However, soon enough, Old Rogge calmly shook his head and chuckled, ”I’ve grown old and lack the ability; I truly can’t help with this matter.”

”You’d best seek someone more capable!”
