The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 543: Chapter 543 Foolish

”Kneel down!” Song Zi sternly rebuked.

Lin Zhihui knelt down, her eyes filled with tears, her shoulders trembling.

”You still have the face to cry, doing such shameless things, and you dare to put on airs and cry here?” Song Zi was furious, pointing at her and scolding: ”Do you take the women’s teachings I’ve instilled in you all these years as nothing, in one ear and out the other? Secretly exchanging love tokens, is this what I taught you?”

Lin Zhihui’s face was flushed red, she lifted her head and said: ”I did not, I only gifted a talisman, at that time Ruwei was also present, how does that become secretly exchanging love tokens in your eyes?”

”You still don’t know you’re wrong?” Song Zi was trembling with anger: ”Men and women sit separately at the age of seven, what is your relationship with your older cousin that you need to give him a High School Talisman? Are you engaged to him or what, with neither, this is secretly exchanging love tokens.”

Lin Zhihui was so ashamed that her tears rolled down.

”You don’t need to argue, do you think I, as your mother, don’t know what you’re thinking?” Song Zi sneered: ”Let me tell you, quickly extinguish those thoughts, you and your older cousin, will only ever have a sibling relationship in this life.”

Lin Zhihui’s face turned ashen white, crying: ”Why? I am your own daughter, why do you look down on me like this?”

”If you weren’t my own daughter, would I just watch you throw yourself into the fire like a moth? Why, let me tell you why, what is your status, and what is your older cousin’s status? The rightful eldest son of the Prime Minister’s Mansion, of noble and esteemed birth, would he take you, a mere Fifth Rank official’s daughter, as a principal wife? Your uncle didn’t even consider the daughter of the Duke Zhongyong Mansion, would he consider you?”

”As for your aunt, she would look down on you even more, the families don’t match in status, that is the answer to why.”

Lin Zhihui’s face was pale with defeat.

”I don’t know when you got these thoughts, but Hui’er, I am your mother, I would never harm you, your older cousin is not your ideal match, give up on this thought.” Song Zi looked weary, said: ”Young girls in love, emotions newly blooming, I understand, after all, I too was young once. But I cannot indulge you, think carefully about today’s matter, for now, stay in your room and copy the Heart Sutra, calm your mind, do not go out.”

Lin Zhihui’s body slumped, and she collapsed to the ground, crying out loud.

”Mamma Qin, take her back to her yard.” Song Zi also felt pained, yet hardened her heart not to look at her.

Mamma Qin knelt in response, supporting Lin Zhihui as she left.

Song Zi, her face full of exhaustion, pinched her brows, what kind of situation is this?

Lin Guangxiong walked in, asking: ”What’s wrong with Hui’er?”

Song Zi mustered her spirit to stand up, helped him take off his outer garments, and changed into a set of casual clothes, during which she recounted Lin Zhihui’s foolish actions.

”These two years, I’ve only been concerned with the two younger ones, and have neglected her upbringing, without realizing, she’s developed such a bold temperament.”

Lin Guangxiong, however, was indifferent, said: ”Su’er is a handsome young man, many a noble lady secretly considers him their ideal match, at Hui’er’s age, it’s inevitable for love to blossom, just speak to her properly, don’t be too harsh.”

Song Zi, however, showed a bitter smile: ”If I don’t reprimand her, she’ll only fall deeper, if she’s deeply in love but unrequited, what will happen then? Also, on your sister-in-law’s side, treating Su’er like the apple of her eye, how could she tolerate a single blemish on him? Husband, we cannot create a rift with the Prime Minister’s Mansion.”

Lin Guangxiong became serious, said: ”If that’s the case, coincidentally there are a few families inquiring about Hui’er, let’s carefully choose a suitable match and settle it?”

Song Zi nodded, there’s no other way, perhaps with the momentum from the Prime Minister’s Mansion’s influence, they could still find a decent match.
