The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 540: Chapter 540: Engaging in Private Collusion?

Lin Zhihui’s resentment, Song Ruwei was naturally unaware of it. She was just a bit curious about why this cousin seemed so preoccupied.

”It’s nothing, just Third Cousin going to be a study companion for the Fifth Prince and not being at home. But why haven’t I seen First Cousin and the others? Didn’t they say First Cousin would return to Yu Hang hometown to take the exams?”

Song Ruwei was startled for a moment, glanced at her, and said, ”Elder Brother has been in the Book Collection Pavilion every day lately. Sometimes he’s in there the whole day, and I seldom see him.”

”Oh.”

Hearing this, Lin Zhihui was a bit disappointed.

Song Ruwei carefully asked, ”Cousin, are you looking for my elder brother?”

Lin Zhihui’s heart skipped a beat. She laughed and said, ”No, I just think the Prime Minister’s Mansion is a bit quiet.”

Song Ruwei sighed.

”Our Prime Minister’s Mansion doesn’t have many masters to begin with. Now that Second Sister is married, Grandmother has gone to the Prince Mansion to accompany Fourth Aunt for her pregnancy, and Third Brother is in the palace, it’s naturally quiet. If you hadn’t come today, I’m afraid I wouldn’t have anyone to talk to.”

”Are there no little companions at the family school?” Lin Zhihui asked.

”There are, but they have to go home too.”

Besides the family members, Song Family’s school also admitted several children from the residence to study.

Lin Zhihui thought for a moment and said, ”I also don’t quite like our family’s private tutor. How about I come to Song Family’s school to study with you, Ruwei?”

Song Ruwei didn’t think much of it and said, ”That would be great, at least we would have company.”

Lin Zhihui was delighted, ”I’ll discuss it with my parents later.”

Song Ruwei nodded.

The two of them turned around the rockery and suddenly saw a young man in a raven black summer clothes standing by the Water Pavilion, his hands behind his back, looking up at the sky.

”Ah, it’s elder brother.” Song Ruwei was a bit surprised.

Lin Zhihui’s heart pounded, her eyes sparkling. What a coincidence.

She instinctively touched the wallet at her waist.

Upon hearing Song Ruwei’s voice, the youth, Song Lingsu, turned his head. Seeing the two of them, he flashed a slight smile.

The youth was as gentle as jade, his smile making one feel like a spring breeze.

Song Lingsu walked over and performed a gentleman’s bow to the two, ”Third Sister, Cousin Huizhi is also at home today.”

”Elder brother, why are you here? Aren’t you usually in the Book Collection Pavilion?”

”I encountered a problem that I couldn’t figure out, so I came out for some fresh air. I didn’t expect to meet you here,” Song Lingsu spoke, only looking at Song Ruwei.

Lin Zhihui felt a little uncomfortable but managed a smile and asked, ”Did First Cousin solve the problem?”

Song Lingsu turned his head, his gaze resting on her face for a moment, then he smiled, ”I have solved it. Well, I’ll be going now. You two continue your stroll.”

Song Ruwei bowed slightly, ”Elder brother, take care.”

Lin Zhihui hurriedly said, ”First Cousin, wait a moment.”

Song Lingsu stopped his steps.

Lin Zhihui, pressing the wallet, stepped forward two steps and said, ”I know First Cousin is taking the exams this year. First Cousin is outstanding, and I believe First Cousin will surely top the list.”

Song Lingsu stepped back slightly and cupped his hands, ”Thank you, Cousin Huizhi, for your kind words. I will do my utmost.”

”First Cousin, I, I also prayed for a High School Talisman and wanted to give it to First Cousin.” Lin Zhihui pulled off the wallet from her body.

Song Lingsu was a bit surprised.

Song Ruwei’s eyes widened. Was First Cousin going crazy by attempting to secretly gift something like this?

She instinctively glanced at Song Lingsu, seeing his embarrassed and at a loss expression. She smiled and took the wallet from Lin Zhihui on behalf of Song Lingsu.

”Cousin, where did you get the talisman? Let me have a look. Later, I’ll have Second Brother Zhou’er and the others get one too, and we can give them all to Elder Brother together as a token of our sibling affection!”
