The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 505: Chapter 505: Teaching the Granddaughter Wrong?

No one knows a daughter like her mother, and Madam naturally understands Song Ruqi’s temperament.

Madam earnestly advised, ”Now that you are married, you are someone else’s wife, and you cannot handle things as you used to. You must endure what you can, and if you truly cannot, then discuss it with your husband and let him decide. If he won’t help, then return to your maiden home. Remember, the Prime Minister’s Mansion is your strongest support.”

Hearing this, Song Ruqi leaned her head on her mother’s shoulder and said softly, ”So, Mother, what is the good in getting married? It’s so troublesome, and you have to endure grievances from others.”

”Silly girl, saying silly things. When a girl comes of age, she naturally marries. It’s not for anything else but to have someone by your side who understands and loves you, and later have a child or two. That’s what life is. Getting married is just like that. Isn’t it said that a woman’s most carefree and comfortable time is being a maiden?”

Song Ruqi sighed. Exactly.

Madam continued, ”The son-in-law treats you well, doesn’t he? Is he not too reckless at night?”

Song Ruqi’s face flushed red.

”Mother, what are you talking about?” So embarrassing.

Seeing her daughter’s shyness, Madam tapped her little nose and said, ”You’re someone’s wife now, experienced in the ways of the world, and still shy?”

”I don’t care, it’s still embarrassing.”

Madam chuckled softly, ”Alright, Mother won’t press you on details. But have you remembered what I taught you before?”

Song Ruqi paused, blushing, and nodded her head.

”Mother, does that method really work? Can it really produce a son?”

”Whether it works or not, you have to try to find out, and you have to coordinate with your diet. There’s a small kitchen in your courtyard, right? Just follow the recipe Mother gave you to cook for yourself and your husband. Look at your second aunt; she did the same, and wasn’t she blessed with a daughter?”

Song Ruqi felt a warmth in her heart and pressed her lips together.

”These dietary adjustments and date-keeping are for you to know. Don’t spread them, especially not to your sisters-in-law. Don’t tell them.”

”What does Mother mean?”

Madam’s expression was calm, ”These things were passed down from your grandmother, and although there’s an example of your second aunt’s success, they haven’t been confirmed by a doctor to be one hundred percent effective. It’s based on luck and practice. What if it doesn’t turn out as desired? Wouldn’t that be wronging you?”

”Moreover, what good does it do for you to teach them about having sons? The Duke Mansion is vast, with many people. Would having fewer people to compete with not be best?”

People have their own interests, and Madam is no exception.

Song Ruqi was thoughtful.

”So, just follow the instructions. Even if it doesn’t guarantee success, the chances are better, aren’t they? If it happens, you know how much importance a legitimate son carries, don’t you?”

”Mother, I understand. I will follow the instructions.”

Of course, Song Ruqi knew the importance of having a son; it’s what every woman in Great Qing yearns for.

Madam glanced at her and casually asked, ”How is that maid in your courtyard doing?”

Song Ruqi’s face turned cold, a hint of anger flashed in her eyes.

”What else can she do? Be humble and flawless, show loyalty in my presence, and lament the past in my husband’s presence.” Song Ruqi sneered arrogantly, ”As Grandmother said, she’s a flirtatious white lotus, full of deceit! I’d like to see her perform like an actor. Can she possibly surpass someone like me, an official wife with a dignified status from the Prime Minister’s Mansion?”

Madam: ”...”

What has her mother-in-law taught her granddaughter? Hasn’t she taught her wrong?

So fierce!
