The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 524: Chapter 524: You Won’t Die If You Don’t Seek Death

”Do you think this is what they call ’if you don’t seek death, you won’t die’?”

Song Ci lay idly on the beauty couch, chatting with Nanny who was fanning her.

Nanny wasn’t surprised; after all, she’d seen such things many times, and nonchalantly said, ”Among noble families and their descendants, schemes like these are endless. It’s no surprise, even more so with the Royal Family.”

”Not really, you see, the Emperor has several sons,” Song Ci counted on her fingers: ”One, two, three, four, five, six, each living well.”

Nanny glanced at her, ”The Emperor wants his lineage to flourish, so he’ll have children born. Not to mention, the Crown Prince of the Central Palace being fifth means she wouldn’t mind seeing more Princes born before him. Too many is not scary, it’s the only that makes it scary.”

Without a Crown Prince, she had to ensure her status and was naturally happy to see more Princes, because when there are many Princes, none seemed too significant, letting the Concubines fight it out.

But if there were only one or two, then the status from a mother bearing a child is not something she’d like to see.

So, in the palace, each Prince lived, but after the Central Palace had a Crown Prince, except for the sixth Prince, how many more Princes were born or grew up?

Listening to Nanny’s analysis, Song Ci looked at her quietly and said: ”Nanny, you should actually be involved in palace intrigue.”

With such a clever mind, she was ashamed of herself.

Nanny laughed.

”Hey, who do you think set up Consort Bai?” Song Ci got spirited when talking gossip.

”I wasn’t there, so how could I know beforehand. It could be anyone, whoever gained the most benefit is responsible, and maybe not just one person, just happened all at once.”

Song Ci licked her lips, ”So, Consort Bai was actually targeted long ago, just waiting for an opportunity. Back then, the Bai Family was so high-profile, digging their own grave, and Consort Bai herself was even more so. You say, a pregnant woman, not resting at home, going to attend banquets, not considering how many political rivals her family has, behaving as if afraid of not being seen, flaunting herself, saying ’I’m here, come take a shot at me.’

Stand out among the trees, and the wind will destroy them.

This Consort Bai must be out of her mind to always go where the crowd is, never considering her own circumstances.

And the result was miserable, right?

Nanny held back, ”You took Commandery Princess out shopping today.”

Song Ci: ”...”

Unconvinced, she said: ”That’s different, Pan’er is strong and healthy, no need for nurturing the fetus, and we have escorts.”

”If your confidence were any stronger, I wouldn’t say you’re guilty,” Nanny glanced at her.

Song Ci was furious.

”Nanny, you’re getting cheeky now!” Daring to openly retort her.

Nanny got up and made a bow, ”I am guilty.”

Song Ci: ”...”

She could kill her with that!

”I’m just trying to divert her attention. Haven’t you noticed she hasn’t thrown up as much since?” Song Ci said awkwardly, adding: ”I won’t dare anymore, okay?”

She had an expression of having made a mistake and asking for forgiveness, which made Nanny’s eyes curve into a smile.

Song Ci said, ”With the child lost in Prince Xiao’s Mansion, I’m afraid it will make Prince Xiao’s Mansion and Prince Zhou’s Mansion enemies in the future. Ah, Prince Xiao’s Mansion is carrying such a big burden.”

So unfortunate.

”Prince Xiao might secretly be pleased,” Nanny added nonchalantly.

Song Ci exchanged a look with her, revealing an understanding expression.

Indeed, with Consort Bai’s child gone, and no one else having good news, it means everyone is back at the starting line to race.

And Prince Xiao already had an assist!
