The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 504: Chapter 504: Shocking Words Till Death

Three days later, Song Lingsu personally went to pick up Song Ruqi for her return to the family.

Of course, accompanying Song Ruqi was her newlywed husband, Qi San. The couple first went to meet and kowtow to Song Ci, and after meeting Madam Song, Qi San was led to the outer courtyard by the men of the Song Mansion.

Song Ci looked at her granddaughter, whose youthful shyness had already dissipated, and felt rather bewildered inside.

She was only sixteen.

But then again, thinking more about it, others get married at sixteen, and she herself was a child bride, probably already...

Song Ci shuddered, unwilling to dwell on the thought, nor dared to!

Better to look at the little girl’s face, as beautiful as a peach blossom; she seems to be getting along well with her husband.

Song Ci showed a lewd smile filled with fanciful thoughts.

Song Ruqi: ”...”

It must be a mistake.

Why is Grandmother looking so lewd?

Madam was a bit anxious on the side, wanting to share some private words with her daughter.

”I don’t have much here, you go back to your courtyard with your mother and have a chat.” Song Ci was very generous.

Madam was secretly delighted and said, ”Then we’ll come back to accompany Mother for lunch at noon.”

Song Ci nodded with a smile. Watching the mother and daughter leave until they were out of sight, she turned to Nanny Gong and said, ”Youth is wonderful.”

Nanny Gong, fanning herself, smiled lightly: ”What is the old lady thinking now?”

”I was just admiring how beautiful Qi’er looks, and wondering how she could possibly handle Qi San a few times in one night with that delicate frame of hers?”

Nanny Gong: ”...”

As expected of you!

Never a dull moment with your words!

Old servant, excuse me.

...

In the main courtyard, Madam Song pulled Song Ruqi to sit by the bed, carefully observing the charm in the corners of her eyes, and felt slightly relieved.

”Have you gotten used to living at the Duke Ying Mansion?”

Song Ruqi looked up and said, ”Naturally, it’s not easy to get used to it; who can adapt to a new home immediately after leaving one’s own?”

”That’s true. Did your mother-in-law make you establish the rules?”

Song Ruqi paused for a moment, saying nothing.

Madam felt a pang of anxiety and quickly asked, ”Why, did she really make you follow the rules?”

”Not really. It’s just that on the second day of recognizing relatives, I helped set up a meal because the two sisters-in-law and a younger sister-in-law were all standing by following the rules, and I couldn’t just sit there...”

Madam’s face grew dark.

The Duchess really made her daughter-in-law follow the rules?

She felt uncomfortable. After all, in the Song Family, Song Ci wouldn’t make daughters-in-law follow the rules. Even the eldest daughter, who married into the Gu Family, a noble clan, didn’t need to, but when it came to the second daughter, she had to follow them, and as a mother, she naturally felt distressed.

”Mother, I only helped set up the dishes briefly, and they quickly let me sit down.” Song Ruqi watched her mother’s expression while speaking.

”And what about your sisters-in-law?”

”They also sat down quickly.” Song Ruqi thought for a moment and said, ”But I had someone inquire, and when they serve my mother-in-law, they do follow the rules, but not for long.”

Madam felt rather displeased on hearing this. She opened her mouth, sighed, and said, ”Duke Ying Mansion is a noble family with a century of history, such rules aren’t surprising. If it’s not too excessive, then just follow what your sisters-in-law do, but if you’re greatly wronged, then talk to your husband.”

”Talk to him?”

”Of course, he’s your husband. Whom would you talk to if you’re wronged? Don’t foolishly keep your grievances to yourself; people aren’t mind readers and won’t know what you’re thinking.”

Song Ruqi pouted, ”I know, Mother. Do you think I’m someone who would rather suffer in silence?”
