The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 534: Chapter 534: When it Comes to Ruthlessness, Mom is the Most Ruthless

In Song Ci’s memory, it was just an image of a man kneeling in front of her, desperately begging her to agree to his marriage proposal with the Lu family, but the man’s appearance was very vague.

Just an illegitimate son.

Song Ci asked, ”Is it Lord Zhang’s position?”

Song Zhiyuan raised an eyebrow, ”Mother, you really understand immediately.”

”Last year, you said you would transfer him back to keep him under your eye. Now that the Grand Madam of Lord Zhang’s family has passed away, naturally he needs to observe mourning. You coming at this time means he’s likely to take that position.”

”Indeed, it’s an outdoor doctor, Fifth Rank. Although it’s a lateral transfer, it’s still a Capital Official, and a lucrative position at that.”

Song Ci’s eyebrows twitched twice, ”You really love him, don’t you?”

Poof.

Song Zhiyuan put down the tea, looked over, and tentatively asked, ”Mother, are you still thinking about what happened back then?”

Hmm?

No, judging by this tone, isn’t it that she and that illegitimate son have some past grudges?

Of course, Song Ci wouldn’t foolishly ask about things from the past. She just pursed her lips, pretending to be silent while using the tea lid to play with the tea foam in her cup.

Seeing this, Song Zhiyuan thought she was harboring a grudge and said, ”Mother, he was young and impulsive back then, which is why he spoke without thinking and opposed you.”

”Now that he’s been an official for many years and is a father himself, he should have improved. In fact, didn’t he regret it afterwards as well?”

Song Ci deliberately said, ”Some grudges don’t just fade away with time, especially for those who are stubbornly fixated.”

Song Zhiyuan frowned slightly and coldly said, ”If he’s really like that, then he’ll never progress beyond this position in his life.”

What does it matter if they’re blood brothers? They’re not born of the same mother; there will always be closeness and distance.

Song Ci didn’t hear any useful information, her eyes shifted, ”About his birth mother’s matter...”

Song Zhiyuan’s eyes turned cold and said, ”Those were all accidents, with no evidence to support it. Just listening to a few servants gossiping, pinning Madam Lu’s death on you?”

As he said this, he angrily continued, ”He shouldn’t have had any dealings with the Lu family in the first place. Making a mountain out of a molehill... Mother, don’t be angry.”

Song Ci pressed her chest, feeling her heart racing.

”Why would I be angry? Every family has these kinds of issues. It’s common for a Lady to eliminate a few concubines in secret.”

Song Zhiyuan sighed helplessly, ”Mother, you’re not that kind of person.”

Oh dear, was her guess right? That illegitimate son thinks she killed his mother and holds a grudge against her?

Typical dramatic storyline!

”What if I am that kind of person?” Song Ci glanced at him obliquely.

Song Zhiyuan laughed, ”Even if you did, it would only be because that Concubine Lu did something to provoke you. But even so, as your son, I wouldn’t let you be wronged. Just a concubine, after all.”

Gone is gone!

What is arrogance but the demeanor shown by this clever son.

Dominant style!

Song Ci felt it was quite thrilling, ”Then I’ll let you take care of things, my dear son.”

Song Zhiyuan: ”...”

Take care, what does that mean?

Song Ci said, ”It’s fine if the third one comes back, but he has found someone new over there. If he brings them back, I’m afraid the Prime Minister’s Mansion won’t have peace. Tell your wife to make proper arrangements. I’m getting old and don’t like all the noise. If the third one can’t manage his own affairs, then it’s best to let him live separately early on. Save me the trouble.”

Song Zhiyuan’s heart skipped a beat.

When it comes to being ruthless, mother is still the most ruthless!
