The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 530: Chapter 530: What I Want to Cultivate is Merit

Remember what?

Of course, it’s about how to plant potatoes. It was back when I was on a reality show and went to borrow food from a farmer, and I saw him handling potato seeds. Song Ci, curious, asked a few questions.

Asked but practiced?

Song Ci was completely puzzled.

No matter what, to grow something, you must have the best soil first, so the first step must be to cultivate a fertile land.

Since Song Ci was staying at the Prince Dingbei’s Mansion, she couldn’t go back to the Prime Minister’s Mansion to do it. So she chatted with Niu Pan’er, and it was no big deal. They turned a garden inside out, moved all the precious flowers and trees, spread fertilizer, and then deeply plowed the soil.

Nanny Gong watched Song Ci enthusiastically directing the farmers to till the field and then glanced at the whispering servants, holding her forehead speechlessly.

”Commandery Princess, you’re really letting the Old Madam have her way.”

A perfectly good garden was turned into a vegetable plot just like that.

If the garden had feelings, it would probably rebel, the noblewoman turning into a farmwife!

Niu Pan’er laughed and said, ”Let Mother have her fun. I’ve heard that frequent activity is good for health. Besides, it’s just a garden, it’s not valuable, the Prince Mansion is big enough.”

Not to mention one garden, they could make a mess of ten more.

”You’re spoiling her.” Spoiling her into an outrageous mother-in-law.

Niu Pan’er pursed her lips and chuckled: ”Nanny spoils her too.”

Nanny Gong: ”...”

”And if the potatoes really grow, that’s a good thing too. Nanny, haven’t you eaten the stir-fried potato strings? Quite tasty, you know.” Niu Pan’er reminisced about that dish.

But she also knew the remaining potatoes must be kept as seeds and couldn’t be wasted. After all, who knows if they would grow? With more seeds, surely one of them would sprout, right?

Nanny Gong said, ”If they really do grow...”

That would be quite an achievement.

Song Ci came over, full of excitement: ”Looks like they can be planted very soon.”

”What if they don’t take root?” Nanny Gong poured cold water on her enthusiasm.

Song Ci glared: ”Don’t jinx it.”

This is an achievement, she’s not just planting potatoes, this is an achievement, they must live!

Niu Pan’er asked: ”Mother, how do you plan to plant them?”

Song Ci vaguely replied: ”I don’t really know, since I haven’t planted anything before, I’ll just experiment. If it fails, we’ll have Xiazhi Foreign Trading Company help us buy seeds from overseas. If it doesn’t work once, we’ll try ten times. We’ll surely learn from the experience.”

”I believe Mother can grow them.”

”Thanks for your kind words.” Song Ci grinned: ”Come on, let’s go back and process the seeds.”

How to process the seeds?

Nanny Gong’s eyes widened, oh no, this garden was messed up for nothing. She’s never seen anyone cut a fruit into eight pieces for planting.

She just knew, the Old Madam was unreliable.

But Niu Pan’er noticed something different, pointing to the little sprout eyes on the potato pieces: ”Mother, what is this about? Does each potato slice need this?”

”These little sprout eyes, they need to sprout. Each piece must have them to ensure it sprouts,”

Song Ci said in a somewhat learned manner.

That old farmer said it like this, it should be correct.

Nanny Gong glanced at her, then at the chunked potato, it kind of made sense, could it be...

The few chatted and laughed, and Steward Mama Lu walked in, saluting Song Ci and Niu Pan’er.

”What is it?”

”Reporting to the Commandery Princess and the Old Madam, the doctor from Zhang’s residence on Eight Lane reported a bereavement. The Old Madam of Zhang’s residence has passed on to bliss.”

The laughter stopped abruptly.
