The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 502: Chapter 502: Headache

Song Ci has decided to stay at the Prince Dingbei’s Mansion for a while, which made the Madam very worried.

She was worried that Song Ci might fall ill at the mansion due to discomfort, and also feared that people outside might gossip.

”Alas.”

When Song Zhiyuan came in with a smell of alcohol, he heard this sigh.

”On such a joyous day, why are you sighing?”

The Madam stood up, instructed someone to bring the hangover soup, and also to prepare hot water. As she attended to his changing clothes, she spoke of Song Ci’s decision.

”It’s not that I don’t trust the people in the mansion, I’m just worried that Mother might not be used to it. Fourth Brother and the others are still young, and now she’s pregnant, I’m afraid they won’t be able to take care of Mother properly.”

Song Zhiyuan sat down, took the hangover soup handed over by the maid, drank it, and said, ”There are plenty of people to serve at the Prince Dingbei’s Mansion, and there is also a doctor there, and Doctor Lin is going along too. Nanny and those who Mother is used to are also going, so there is no need to fear that no one will take care of her.”

Upon hearing this, the Madam said, ”Are you agreeing then?”

”What’s decided by Mother shouldn’t change. This is the first child for Fourth Brother and the others, she will be cautious. If she really wants to go, let her. If you still feel uneasy, just visit every few days to check on her.”

The Madam hesitated for a while, wanting to speak but stopping herself.

Song Zhiyuan noticed this and said, ”If you have something to say, just say it directly. Why speak hesitantly between us as husband and wife?”

”It’s nothing, just that Mother staying at the Prince Dingbei’s Mansion, I’m afraid that outsiders will gossip.”

Song Zhiyuan was indifferent and replied, ”You’re overthinking it. It’s just a short stay. This is the filial piety of the two little ones, inviting her over to stay. Moreover, the Commandery Princess is pregnant, and the Prince Dingbei’s Mansion doesn’t have an elder there. Mother going over to help is perfectly reasonable, how can those who gossip stand rationally?”

The Madam had a trace of embarrassment on her face and said, ”I was overly cautious.”

Song Zhiyuan smiled at her and went to the bathroom.

Nanny Fang brought a bowl of medicine, and the Madam’s face slightly tensed. She looked at the dark soup and sighed lightly, pressing her abdomen.

There are many happy events in this mansion, and her two sisters-in-law continuously bring good news. She wonders when it will be her turn.

Xiangzhang Garden.

Song Zi watched Song Lingsu leave and smiled as she entered her own room.

”Madam, the Young Master is truly thoughtful, sending over his own study notes for our Young Master.” Loyal Qin Nanny smiled as she offered a cup of tea.

Song Zi took it and smiled, saying, ”Su’er truly is an affectionate child. At such a young age, he already has the grace of an orchid and bamboo. Big Brother and the others have raised him well.”

”Indeed, he is the eldest son of the main branch.” Qin Nanny glanced at her expression and cautiously said, ”Madam, the Eldest Young Master is not yet engaged, and our Miss is of marriageable age. This old servant was thinking about them as cousins...”

”Shut your mouth.” Song Zi’s expression changed slightly, and she placed the teacup heavily on the table, reprimanding in a low voice, ”Such talk must not be mentioned again, or if Sister-in-law hears, do you think I’ll have any peace? Su’er is a legitimate son and grandson, even more so the son of the Prime Minister, his status is honorable. His future wife will naturally not be an ordinary noble lady, how could Huier and the others match him?”

Nanny Qin awkwardly said, ”This old servant just thinks that the Eldest Young Master has excellent character and a distinguished background, worthy of a good match. If we could unite the families, it would truly be a blessing for our Miss.”

Song Zi smiled bitterly, ”How could I not know? But what kind of status does he have compared to our Lin Family?”

The mismatch in family status, if pursued, would only invite trouble.
