The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 525: Chapter 525: Quibbling in Front of the Emperor

Prince Zhou and Prince Xiao were indeed bickering, one crying over his son, the other pleading for justice.

Emperor Chu pinched his eyebrows, watching the two sons kneeling beneath the royal throne argue and insult each other, feeling extremely headache.

How utterly bothersome!

”Father, you must make a decision for your son, the Imperial Physician said it was a male fetus, your first imperial grandson was schemed against and lost just like that,” Prince Zhou wept bitterly.

Prince Xiao’s temples throbbed as he said, ”Third brother, what do you mean by the first imperial grandson being lost? My Commandery Princess is perfectly healthy. How can you, as an Imperial Uncle, curse a child just a month old?”

Prince Zhou glared at him, ”That is a girl, an imperial granddaughter; I’m talking about the imperial grandson.”

”You...”

”Enough of this racket!” Emperor Chu slapped the white jade paperweight on the imperial desk.

The two below immediately withdrew their necks, prostrating on the ground, not daring to make another peep.

”Calm down, Father.”

Emperor Chu looked coldly at the two of them and said, ”Such a calamity, yet you find it worthy to bring your bickering before me for justice? Third, you claim the eldest harmed your son, where’s the evidence?”

”Father, I...”

”If you want me to make a decision, then present evidence. Mere bickering is useless; everything must be based on evidence and truth,” Emperor Chu said coldly. ”What I’ve heard so far is that Consort Bai accompanied you and Consort Zhou to the banquet, but due to a sudden accident, was injured, resulting in the loss of the child.”

Prince Zhou opened his mouth aggrieved, ”Father, it’s obvious someone schemed against your son.”

”Where’s the evidence?”

Prince Zhou was rendered speechless.

”This matter was your own negligence. Since Consort Bai was pregnant, why take her out to join the commotion? Didn’t you think she might bump into something or eat something wrong?” Emperor Chu snorted coldly.

Prince Zhou felt deeply wronged, yet dared not argue back, only prostrated himself lower, saying, ”Your son is at fault.”

Prince Xiao was extremely pleased from the side.

”Don’t you, the eldest, gloat with schadenfreude. Prince Xiao’s Mansion also has faults in this matter.”

Prince Xiao, trembling with fear, hurriedly said, ”Please, Father, instruct us.”

”Your mansion harbors such a troublesome lowly maid, yet you and the Princess were unaware. This indicates a lack of strict household governance. And what if it was a vicious assassin?” Emperor Chu looked down at him from above and said, ”If it were a real assassin, with so many women at the banquet, how could you bear the responsibility if any of the ministers’ families were harmed?”

Sweat seeped from Prince Xiao’s forehead, and he stammered, saying, ”It was my oversight.”

”Failure to govern the household strictly leads to disasters. If you can’t manage your own small home, how can you govern the world? Third, the same goes for you; don’t just blame and indulge in letting your family act foolishly. Both of you remember, if one cannot sweep a house, how can they sweep the world? If one cannot govern a family, how can they rule the empire?” Emperor Chu said coldly, ”Go back, write these two sentences down and display them where you can see them, I do not wish to see my sons as useless trash.”

”Understood, Your Majesty.”

”Have you understood? Quickly get out of my sight.” Emperor Chu turned his back to them.

The two hurriedly knelt and took their leave, ”Your sons bid farewell.”

Emperor Chu closed his eyes, listening to the rustling sounds behind him, and only when the palace hall returned to silence did he turn around, his handsome face darkened.

”What a mess, look at them, do they seem like fathers at all, still bickering like children.”

Eunuch Zhou smartly changed the tea, saying, ”Calm down, Emperor, the two princes are still young, teach them gradually.”

”Being a father and still young? Facing issues their hearts are thrown into disarray, and you expect them to relieve me of my worries, hmph.” Emperor Chu thought of Consort Bai’s belly, feeling a burst of irritation, ”What a pity for that child.”

Eunuch Zhou quickly said, ”The princes are still young, imperial grandsons will surely come in time. In the future, you may struggle to hold them all.”

Emperor Chu gave him a sidelong look, ”You’re just a people-pleaser.”
