The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 533: Chapter 533: The Son Holds a Deep Grudge

After finishing the court session, Song Zhiyuan went to Prince Dingbei’s Mansion to visit his mother.

Under the guidance of the old housekeeper, Song Zhiyuan saw Song Ci, who was standing at the edge of the vegetable field directing the farmers in planting.

Song Zhiyuan: ”...”

He looked at the old housekeeper with some helplessness and guilt, and said, ”My mother is indeed being a bit rude, please send the losses to the garden of the Prince’s Mansion to the Prime Minister’s Mansion, and I will send someone to deliver compensation.”

The old housekeeper said in fear and trepidation, ”Prime Minister, you are too flattering to this old servant. What loss can a garden have? It’s merely the Dowager’s pastime, it’s not worth anything. If you really send compensation, this old servant won’t be able to face the Prince and the Commandery Princess.”

Song Zhiyuan said, ”My mother is mischievous, it must have been hard on you all these days.”

”The Dowager is in great health and good spirits, we servants find it no trouble to serve her at all, please don’t say such things.” The old housekeeper cupped his hands and said.

Song Ci had already turned around at the reminder of Nanny, taking the handkerchief she handed over, and while wiping her hands, asked, ”Eldest brother, why are you here?”

Song Zhiyuan walked over, cupped his hands, and bowed in greeting, ”I must come to pay respects to mother.”

Song Ci responded with an ”Oh,” glanced at the planted potato chunks, and said, ”Once they’re all placed, just cover them with a layer of soil, then sprinkle a little water, don’t let the soil be too dry or too wet... All right, you all get busy!”

The farmers watched her leave.

Once she was out of sight, one farmer asked, ”Will these really sprout? Will they grow?”

Chen Da said, ”The greenhouse vegetables have already started being prepared for planting, didn’t the Dowager grow them successfully last winter? I trust her.”

This Chen Da was the one who had helped Song Ci plant greenhouse vegetables back then, and now he had been called over again to plant potatoes.

Chen Da was quite pleased; ever since the success of the greenhouse vegetables, he had developed a blind admiration for Song Ci, and listening to her occasionally talk about farming and cultivation broadened his horizons.

So, this time planting these ground beans, oh, potatoes, he was also confident.

The one in charge of planting the potatoes was Chen Da, since he said this, no one dared to object, and everyone bowed their heads to work hard; after all, whether they grew or not, they wouldn’t suffer losses, as they were following the Dowager’s instructions.

Although they didn’t believe that just carelessly throwing these potato chunks into the ground would yield crops, whatever the nobles played with, it wasn’t their place to comment.

Song Ci returned to Cixi Hall, freshened up, and only then sat opposite Song Zhiyuan, saying, ”Speak, you don’t come to the shrine without a reason, what brings you here?”

Song Zhiyuan, half in amusement and half in exasperation, said, ”Mother, with your tone, you make your son sound unfilial. Must I have a reason to come see you? You’ve been at the Prince’s Mansion for a while, just won’t allow your son to miss you and come to pay respects?”

The resentment was deep.

Song Ci glanced sideways, and said, ”Your mother is fine, can eat, can sleep, and still do things, rest assured!”

Song Zhiyuan: ”I know, you’ve even started wreaking havoc on the Prince’s garden.”

”Your mother is about to achieve great things, what do you understand?” Song Ci glared at him, ”I can’t talk to you.”

”I know you’re planting that overseas fruit, I’ve heard it’s edible.”

Song Ci twitched the corner of her mouth.

”What fruit, those are potatoes, they can be used as both vegetables and food.” Song Ci rolled her eyes, whoever said they were fruit, it’s hilarious.

Song Zhiyuan didn’t mind, whatever way she wanted to mess around was fine with him. He took a sip of tea and stated his real intention, ”Mother, I’ve transferred the third son back.”

”Oh. Hm?” Song Ci lifted her head, transferring the third one back?

The illegitimate son who left the Lu family?
