The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 516: Chapter 516: Blinding Her Cataract Eyes

Song Ci still didn’t go to Prince Xiao’s Mansion to attend the banquet for Commandery Princess Furu’s one-month celebration, instead, she went strolling on the street with Niu Pan’er.

”I’ve heard that shifting your focus can stop you from thinking about throwing up. Let’s take in the bustling marketplace, watch the people, and taste some delicacies.” Song Ci looked at her noticeably thinner face and felt especially concerned.

It’s not easy to be a woman; pregnancy and childbirth are a blissful torment.

Niu Pan’er smiled and said, ”Mother, I’m fine. You don’t need to worry.”

Song Ci patted her hand and didn’t say anything.

The carriage stopped on Zhuque Street. The maids and servants gathered around, placed a footstool, and carefully helped the two of them out of the carriage.

As Song Ci alighted, the guards from the Prince’s Mansion spread out to encircle them, preventing the commoners from rushing over, which made the people huddle together in fear, making her feel suddenly guilty.

”I think I shouldn’t have brought you out.”

The display was too grand, troubling the people.

In her bones, Song Ci still retained a modern person’s way of thinking. Seeing this grand display, comparable to a great celebrity, and the people shrinking back in fear, she felt guilty.

Niu Pan’er followed her gaze and looked over, speaking softly, ”Mother is kind-hearted.”

Song Ci whispered, ”If it weren’t for the fact that you’re pregnant, we could go out more discreetly, and it would be more comfortable.”

But she dared not be careless, after all, this was Niu Pan’er’s first pregnancy and the hope of Prince Dingbei’s Mansion. If the child is male, he would be the heir.

The Niu Family, with their history on the battlefield, has too much killing aura, which some Daoist monks say could harm harmony, thereby affecting offspring fortunes.

Song Ci didn’t want to believe this nonsense, but seeing Prince Dingbei with dozens of wives and concubines and only having Niu Pan’er, she couldn’t help but have faith in these gods.

If Niu Pan’er ends up like her father, then the baby in her belly is a treasure among treasures.

Amitabha, the more children, the more blessings!

Song Ci put her hands together in a prayer gesture, thinking she must increase their charitable donations to the Charitable Hall by ten percent this year and also make offerings at the temple.

Niu Pan’er: ”...”

”Let’s go, I’ve heard there’s a new store, selling all imported goods.” Song Ci pulled Niu Pan’er up the steps.

Niu Pan’er glanced at the store name, Xiazhi Foreign Trading Company.

The name was strange, but the façade was elegantly refined. Once inside, it was wide and open, with cabinets lining three walls, made from materials even more transparent than glass.

Niu Pan’er was curious, while Song Ci’s blood was running hot with excitement, feeling as if she had stepped into a modern shop.

Look at the Western clocks on the shelves, pocket watches in the cabinets, sets of teacups, Western swords, and finely crafted jewelry, sparkling bright.

Wow.

Song Ci went to a counter, her eyes fixed on a necklace. How many carats must these diamonds be? They’re blinding to her cataract eyes!

Estimated over ten carats, and it’s not just one, it’s a string.

A string of ten carats.

The sight of wealth made her heart tremble.

”Quick, support me.” Song Ci extended her hand to Nanny, ”I got hit by a diamond, my legs are trembling, I can’t stand.”

Nanny: ”???

”Isn’t this Madam Song and Commandery Princess Dongyang?”

A cheerful and charming voice came from the stairway.

Song Ci and Niu Pan’er looked over.

A fiery red dress, hair styled in a Flying Immortal Bun, with only two exquisite diamond hairpins, a face as beautiful as peaches and plums, slightly upturned almond eyes, a tall and curvaceous figure, swaying gracefully as she walked, charming but not vulgar, elegant in demeanor.

What a stunning and mature beauty!

Song Ci glanced at her ample bosom and then at her own, oh, she was envious.
