One-Eyed Monster

Igor punched down, then punched down again...

These blows ruptured the Soul Devourer Master’s shell.

Soon after, the Soul Devourer Master abandoned the shell altogether. Igor was flabbergasted, never expecting the Soul Devourer Master to be so decisive.

Abandoning a body was as simple as changing clothes for the Soul Devourer Master, who could conjure a new shell anew.

With the new shell, the Soul Devourer Master unleashed a burst of Energy Light Balls, instantly putting the Resistors in dire straits.

Although Igor found a way to strike the Soul Devourer Master, he still couldn’t deliver a devastating blow.

Watching the Soul Devourer Master use the skill of Infinite Resurrection right in front of him, Igor felt uncomfortable.

This can’t continue, Igor felt urgency and knew he had to come up with a plan.

The suppression had to continue, at least for now, he was the only one who could harm the Soul Devourer Master. No matter the real effect, using Physique Technique to hit the Soul Devourer Master could alleviate some pressure on the Resistors — after all, once he hit the Soul Devourer Master, the Energy Light Balls wouldn’t be released.

Now, to solve the problem was quite simple: control this bastard and his Infinite Resurrection.

The problem was simple, but solving it was quite a hassle. Only through continuous attempts would there be results, so Igor dashed forward without a word and first threw a punch.

The Soul Devourer Master, with the new shell, didn’t expect Igor to continue attacking. He thought his display of strength would intimidate the young man. But who would’ve thought this young man was straightforward, persisting with Physique Technique attacks.

”What’s the point of your futile efforts?” the Soul Devourer Master asked perplexed after abandoning another shell. He couldn’t understand Igor’s relentless waste of time.

”How do you know,” Igor retorted with another punch, ”that what I’m doing is meaningless.”

”Incomprehensible!” The newly conjured shell already had a broken nose, it’s truly...

”I wonder what’s the point of you continually swapping shells.”

...The Soul Devourer Master felt speechless. The damage level of the current shell hadn’t reached a critical point yet, making it impossible to switch. Energy transformation follows the principle of equivalency; as long as the shell can operate, new energy cannot coalesce, which is why most Soul Devourers look ragged and run-down.

While hitting, Igor sought rhythmic patterns; during Physical Technique attacks, he noticed the gaps in energy flow in the Spirit Binding Net. Intense battles appeared to require a brief pause every hour for cooling off, and his attacks were precisely timed during those intervals. He aimed to deliver sustained blows to the Soul Devourer Master, so he must manage the cooling period effectively.

Under Igor’s assault on the Soul Devourer Master, the Resistors caught a breath; the release frequency of the Energy Light Balls had lowered to a negligible state for these experts.

Nonetheless, they couldn’t use energy to attack the Soul Devourer Master, since he was shielded by a potent Energy Shield. Igor could ignore it, but they couldn’t; now they could only hope Igor would thoroughly thrash the Soul Devourer Master.

The Soul Devourer Master felt an odd sensation; realizing the emotion he discarded was gradually rising. Originally he was unaffected by emotions because he was always in favorable circumstances, always in an advantageous position. But now, for the first time, he is being pinned down and beaten, a humiliation he hadn’t experienced despite being in the Border Realm for so long. More crucially, he has no power to resist!

Sometimes his emotionless verbal attacks could hurt Igor, but now, whatever he said was ineffective. If unlucky topics triggering Igor’s intolerance arose, the outcome likely backfired by provoking Igor. Igor, when angered, attacked even more furiously...

What a dilemma.

Energy had no effect on Igor, and he couldn’t perform Physique Technique. Was he doomed to endure the beating until the Agent of Destruction’s power fully awakened...?

No, he tried once. This young man possessed the Agent of Destruction’s power, but didn’t own it. Speaking of this Agent of Destruction, unable to conquer such a weak person, it really was a disgrace to the name!

The Soul Devourer Master thought of more and more things. He was unwilling to continue repeating the same situation, yet this Igor wouldn’t let go!

”What’s the point of your actions!” the Soul Devourer Master asked again, as he gradually revealed leftover emotions in adversity, seemingly quite agitated.

”The significance doesn’t matter; I beat you because I can!” Igor, sensing this statement’s hurtful potency, figured it would at least enrage the Soul Devourer Master to spitting blood.

However, Igor knew his previous Spirit Attack had failed; he overlooked that the Soul Devourer Master lacked emotions, rendering verbal attacks ineffectual. Though he thought about doing something related to loneliness, without the ability to anger him through language, how could it be possible to link his mind to loneliness?

Fortunately, the Soul Devourer Master wasn’t adept at Physique Technique, giving Igor a chance.

Now Igor believed that confining the Soul Devourer’s energy release method could lead to his complete defeat.

Igor thought of having Sol use the Lightning Shackles to bind the Soul Devourer Master, but realized Sol’s lightning couldn’t approach, since breaking through that Energy Shield was no simple task.

With now a blunt realization of the Energy Shield, though he mastered the energy flow pattern under the Spirit Binding Net, he hadn’t mastered detection of energy. Thus, Igor repeated hitting the Soul Devourer Master over and over. According to the Soul Devourer Master, this was truly pointless.

Igor was unwilling to compromise; he sought resolution, not delay. He believed there was still a way to solve the problem at hand.

The Soul Devourer Master could undergo Infinite Resurrection, but not at any moment. This definitely could be breached.

Once Igor confirmed the direction, he began observing. Inside, he had a bold idea, just uncertain if it could work.
