One-Eyed Monster

Myriads of Thunder Birds dashed about like a flock of crows rushing to a feast, or bats emerging collectively from their caves; the scene was truly spectacular.

The clear goal of these Thunder Birds was to surround the Soul Devourers. But the Soul Devourers were so massive, and the Thunder Birds so small. Could Sol’s grand attack really be effective?

Igor observed everything carefully, and for him, this scene was quite startling. Sol’s depth took him by surprise, and it was beyond what he dared imagine, for he never thought Sol could launch such a large-scale attack all by himself, and in such a magnificent manner.

Yet Igor was also worried whether such a dazzling skill could be effective, because as he thought earlier, the Thunder Birds were so small and the Soul Devourers so large; it seemed like an egg trying to break a stone when a Thunder Bird attacked a Soul Devourer!

However, Igor was inexperienced in combat and had never witnessed such a scene, so his reaction to what happened next was nothing short of being dumbfounded.

The Thunder Birds flew towards the Soul Devourers and quickly transformed from birds into spiders. These spiders spun webs that connected with each other, and before long, the entire massive Soul Devourers Legion was interconnected by this vast web of lightning, which instantly enveloped the entire enemy in a way that was indeed astonishing!

All the webs spit out by the lightning spiders ultimately converged to a single point, and that point was Sol. Sol stood like someone at the pinnacle, overlooking all the mountains and understanding everything thoroughly.

The Soul Devourers were very sensitive to the Thunder Birds and lightning spiders, persistently driving them away. However, these birds and spiders were not physical entities; they were mere lightning illusions, having form without substance. No matter how the Soul Devourers struck or squeezed them, they could not destroy these small manifestations of lightning.

In front of their master, the Soul Devourers exhibited a startling consistency; at this moment, they could only follow orders and act as instructed. Although they found these small lightning-formed entities somewhat annoying, they did not bother after failing to get rid of them a few times because their orders were to attack the Resistors, and they could not stop and defy orders due to these minor disturbances.

Therefore, under the condition that they would not interfere with their mission, the Soul Devourers could only ignore these small lightning-formed entities.

So, in the eyes of Igor and the others, Sol’s magnificent skill seemed to have no substantial effect on the Soul Devourers…

Igor’s surprise turned to calm at this moment; he looked at Sol helplessly, thinking, what should we do now, after this grand attack is unleashed.

But Igor did not know that this was just the prelude to Sol’s grand attack. Standing atop the peak, all the webs formed by lightning converged upon him. With a mere movement of his fingers, the webs on all the Soul Devourers would move accordingly, just like the saying ”when one hair is pulled, the whole body is set in motion.”

Sol manipulated his fingers slightly, immediately forming a lightning mantra.

”In the name of Lightning, ignite the entire connected entity; in the name of Thunder, burn the entire earth!”

As the mantra was spoken, the entire land was assaulted by thunderbolts.

With a rumble, the places struck by the thunderbolts emitted loud roars, and then immense flames leaped up, plunging the whole land into a sea of fire.

Igor watched this scene in shock. The entire Soul Devourers Legion was instantly submerged in the sea of fire, and bolts of thunder continued to barrage, making it seem as though the whole land was in a state of rage under Sol’s attack.

This vast sea of flames could definitely be considered the Border Realm’s largest ever blaze!

At this moment, unconsciously, Igor recalled something: on the Yowein Continent, the so-called Fury Thunder was probably such a scene!

But now, this was the Border Realm, not the Yowein Continent. Although the sea of fire completely engulfed the group of Soul Devourers, it also trapped them within. They were now in the midst of the flames, feeling the intense heat from the leaping fire, which the Resistors could accept because they stood on the same front as Sol. Igor, on the other hand, seemed a bit overwhelmed, clearly not as composed as the Mos Brothers.

”Is this really... okay? We’re trapped ourselves,” Igor muttered, knowing he couldn’t casually question Sol, for this grand attack gave Igor the impression that Sol’s power was beyond his expectations. It was something that could overwhelm hundreds, if not thousands of foes; this grand attack revamped Igor’s understanding of sorcery.

”Heh, you have to trust our leader!” the Mos Brothers cheerfully replied, seemingly unaffected by the flames’ temperature.

”We are honored to stand shoulder to shoulder with our leader at this moment!” Shana also remarked, appearing to have no substantial objection to the sea of fire.

Igor watched this group in a daze; he didn’t understand why they were like this, only knowing that he still felt quite anxious at this moment.

Upon witnessing Sol’s attack, Igor felt quite stirred, seeing Sol confronting the entire Soul Devourers Legion alone made his heart surge. Yet he remained somewhat puzzled, not knowing why he felt this way—his blood seemed to boil unconsciously, with no prior warning!

Previously, he was wondering whether the flames had trapped them. Now it was clear that these flames were actually protecting them, for the fire, though fierce, never extended its jumping territory, always leaving a large circle of space for Igor and the others for free movement, blatantly protecting them.

Sol had considered everything thoroughly, even finely controlling the scope of the fire attack. What reason was there not to trust this leader?

Igor finally understood why every Resistor respected Sol so much. It was simply because Sol was indeed an extraordinary person! He considered his companions in everything he did, planning meticulously for them!

Having such a companion, Igor felt truly fortunate.

Now, the vast flames burned the Soul Devourers; although it couldn’t be said that the overall situation was settled, this strike definitely dampens the enemy’s morale.

Thinking of the Soul Devourer Master’s previous words, Igor felt disgusted. Now, Sol had dealt such a tremendous blow to those scoundrels; the Soul Devourer Master should be reflecting on this well!
