One-Eyed Monster

Igor dodged left and right, sometimes near the Mos Brothers, other times near Shana, not knowing how to finish even a single sentence.

This Energy Light Ball was truly abominable. He had no choice but to dodge. He wished he could, like Shana or the Mos Brothers, directly disperse these Energy Balls.

But he tried and found it useless. His Sword Qi couldn’t alter the Energy Light Ball in any way; a swipe of Sword Qi had no effect at all.

Now he didn’t have time to consider why his power was so inadequate, because at this moment, the Soul Devourer Master’s energy was overwhelming. Except for him, everyone else’s power was negligible. Moreover, the Resistors were one entity; strength or weakness wasn’t the solution. For both the mighty Sol and the weak him were evading and withstanding the Energy Light Balls of the Soul Devourer Master...

If there were a language to describe the current situation, then describing it as scattered sand would be most fitting.

Even though the Resistors struggled to maintain the Cage Array, the power of these Energy Light Balls was overwhelming. Whether the arrays existed made little difference; everything that collided with the Energy Balls was annihilated, with no unexpected occurrences whatsoever.

This was the chasm in Border Realm capabilities; the Soul Devourer Master was an endless pit of energy, with power both abundant and steady, each strike like a powerful missile...

Even the monsters inherent in this Border Realm were in chaos when facing these Energy Light Balls, exhibiting their most primal instincts, fleeing in all directions.

So, to describe them now as scattered sand was not excessive.

No wonder the Soul Devourer Master called them a ragtag bunch.

This was a difference caused by strength, perhaps the Soul Devourer Master had never seen anything outside such scenes, hence his constant ragtag bunch remarks.

Igor felt conflicted at this moment, for after observing this Soul Devourer Master for quite some time, he admitted that in terms of ability, no one here could rival the Soul Devourer Master. No matter who it was, none could achieve Infinite Resurrection like the Soul Devourer Master; just this alone allowed the Soul Devourer Master to dominate.

Igor also discovered that the Soul Devourer Master was lonely, always speaking many words, each seeking some form of recognition. Igor could hear this deep-seated yearning, recognizing that only such a lonely person would yearn for others’ validation.

This sense of loneliness resonated with Igor, wondering if this was the solitude of a master, unable to find any partner in common dialogue, thus longing for others’ recognition.

It seemed that only when others acknowledged him would all this have meaning. Igor felt this loneliness was a breakthrough, as long as the Soul Devourer Master remained obsessed with recognition from others, they had an avenue to explore.

Igor long believed this approach was credible because he knew most villains failed due to talking too much. If they talked less, they wouldn’t be so easily defeated... Why were those villains so verbose? Because their pride was too strong, they always hoped every word they said would be acknowledged, admired, and remembered by everyone.

Igor pondered if masters at this level were always so tedious. Why didn’t they use their strength to accomplish other things, truly a case of ennui?

The world of masters left Igor somewhat exasperated, but he wasn’t here to analyze a master’s mental state; he was here to find the Soul Devourer’s weakness. Though loneliness was a potential angle, they still needed to approach the Soul Devourer Master, but they were all preoccupied with fending off the Energy Light Balls, with no focus for anything else. Take Igor himself for example; it was challenging to even exchange a complete sentence with the Mos Brothers…

He could only utter disjointed short phrases while dodging, leaving the Mos Brothers and Shana utterly perplexed.

Shana and the others didn’t understand what Igor was doing, first saying, ”I can,” then ”Can I,” without finishing a thought, as if he wanted them to guess what he was going to say next, and consistently darting around as he talked, perplexing everyone.

Of course, Shana and the others didn’t know that Igor couldn’t shatter those Energy Light Balls and could only keep dodging. If they knew this, they might sympathize with Igor.

Igor was unable to convey his message: ”I cannot contact Sol.”

He attempted several times to utter this sentence in fragments, from ”I can,” then ”cannot,” to ”Sol,” and ”contact,” struggling for a long time, resulting in a jumble of scattered words, owing partly to the Mos Brothers being so alike. After saying ”Can I,” and running to another Mos Brother, he would instantly forget where he left off…

These abrupt short phrases increased the confusion of Shana and the others, leaving them unclear on what Igor intended.

But they didn’t have the leisure to worry about Igor; the situation was dire for all the Resistors, reaching the most precarious point. The Soul Devourer Master continuously unleashed Energy Light Balls like a cannon, with the added ability to divide, each Split Entity being a missile.

The Incarceration Cage set up by the Resistors suddenly lost all its function, and in such simple attacks, any tactic seemed cumbersome and complex.

Sol strongly desired to issue a retreat command, but now he couldn’t send electric messages. Even if he could convey such an order, there was nowhere to hide. The monsters were even more familiar with the Border Realm than they were, but any place they hid was blasted out, leaving absolutely nowhere to take refuge!

Seeing all this, Igor grew anxious. He had a plan but couldn’t execute it alone, hampered by insufficient strength...

If Igor only discovered the Soul Devourer’s loneliness after such prolonged observation, it would underestimate him. He observed much more, evaluating the surroundings meticulously, conducting many comparisons with the situation, and drawing conclusions after careful deliberation.

Approaching from the angle of loneliness was feasible, but the method of attack was also crucial, and Igor had discovered another approach as well.
