One-Eyed Monster

What forces could be approaching here at this time?

Only the Resistors!

While Igor was resisting the Soul Devourers emerging from the Sea of Fire, he looked into the distance with hope. The trembling of the earth had already told him that reinforcements had arrived. At this moment, it was as if he could see the reinforcements shouting triumphantly, their formation towering over the Soul Devourers.

However, these scenes could only appear in books, only in Igor’s mind. In this Border Realm, although there was a lot of commotion, there was no such roaring scene.

The reinforcements of the Resistors did not shout many slogans. The first to appear in Igor’s field of vision was the old man named Odin. He did not shout as Igor had hoped, ”Don’t let the leader fight alone,” but directly and decisively swung his axe at the earth.

The ground trembled along with it!

So it turned out that this great commotion was caused by Odin! Igor finally realized at this moment that the noise was created by Odin’s attack and not by the overpowering presence of the arriving reinforcements compared to the Soul Devourer army!

”So, your stubborn resistance was for this!” The Soul Devourer Master clearly also noticed the arrival of the reinforcements. He was not flustered, still controlling the Soul Devourer army to slowly approach; there were only a few leaders among the reinforcements, which could not bring about much change.

”We are Resistors; don’t you understand what it means to be a Resistor?” Sol once again released the Lightning Shackles, determined to lock down those Soul Devourers and prevent them from approaching Igor and the others.

”After all, you are the minority. This Border Realm is still my territory. Stop resisting, my patience is reaching its limit, and when it does, there’ll be no more words of reason.” The Soul Devourer Master finally felt there was no hope of persuading Sol to join his ranks; it seemed he would have to let go with regret!

”How can you still not understand what resistance means! How many times must it be said?” Igor couldn’t hold back anymore. Although there were not many reinforcements, at least they were top-notch fighters. One axe strike made the ground tremble, and many Soul Devourers fell into the crack, proving Odin’s strength!

”Ultimately, a ragtag band. You don’t need to worry, I will come to take the power of the Agent of Destruction from you soon. Before that, I will take all the powers I can from here!” The Soul Devourer Master finally looked Igor in the eye seriously. Ever since he found out that Igor wasn’t some notable Agent of Destruction, he hadn’t considered Igor a threat; in his eyes, Igor was an ant he could crush anytime.

To be honest, Sol’s power restrained him. He also highly desired to have Sol’s assistance, but the stubborn Sol refused to submit to his power, so he could only take it by force.

This is a sad story, but he has no other choice.

”To be honest, you Resistors have given me a great revelation, truly.” Controlling the Soul Devourer army, the Soul Devourer Master acknowledged he could choose a simpler way to fight, but he still opted for this massively aggressive assault to showcase his power. Controlling such a large number of Soul Devourers, what could their few resistances achieve against him? Absolutely nothing.

It’s a kind of loneliness only the strong can understand. Even though he could defeat the opponent instantly, he still chose to toy with them.

The logic is simple, just like a cat catches a mouse and tends to play with it before delivering the fatal blow. The Soul Devourer Master’s actions are similar; letting the opponent fail in fear is far more meaningful than failing before realizing fear has set in.

”You must rely on yourself for everything; others are unreliable, as my knights have proven. They couldn’t even complete the simple task of intercepting other leaders.”

The Soul Devourer Master expressed this because he had a detailed plan before arriving. With numerous Soul Devourers, he deployed them all to deal with all the Resistors in this Border Realm, to showcase his power, let these Resistors feel abandoned with no help, ushering in despair, and then reclaim those who could be reclaimed while devouring those who couldn’t...

In the end, the Soul Devourers sent to intercept failed spectacularly from the looks of things now!

Those leaders not present here had all appeared at this moment!

Whether it was the old man who smashed the ground with an axe or the two with deadpan expressions, the cadre of the Resistor Alliance had now assembled.

”But that’s fine, watching each of you walk into my trap allows me to catch you all at once. In life, you must rely on yourself!” The Soul Devourer Master continued to lament, issuing another command to quicken the pace of the Soul Devourers’ attack. The sense of fear needed to be intensified a bit. This lukewarm pace would only make the inherent fear become a habit and eventually lose all effect.

This change was overwhelming for Igor, who had only just advanced and hadn’t spent much time in this Border Realm. To encounter such a great battle upon arrival was truly difficult for him. When he saw the other Resistor leaders slowly appearing in the distance, he felt a bit happy. Whether it was axe-wielding Odin or the wind-controlling deadpan Torres, he looked forward to them, as reinforcements would lighten their burden no matter what!

But now it seemed that was not the case. With reinforcements arriving, that bastard Soul Devourer Master also accelerated the attack!

”Don’t worry, Igor!” The Mos Brothers comforted the young man beside them. Their situation was no different from Igor’s, yet they remained smiling.

”Yes, the Soul Devourer Master speeding up the attack means he’s nervous!” Shana explained once again to the Mos Brothers’ words.

”Nervous?” Igor felt it wasn’t the case at all! The Soul Devourer Master didn’t show any signs of nervousness, and his every move appeared relaxed. There was no indication of tension!

”The leaders have arrived; the elite reinforcements won’t be far behind!” The Mos Brothers said with smiles again. To be honest, Igor had yet to figure out which one of the two was the older or younger brother. Initially, he could tell by their weapons, but later he gave up because he noticed that the brothers frequently exchanged weapons, especially one who liked to throw his weapon, the other quickly handing over his weapon to the thrower, and then finding a way to retrieve the thrown weapon...

How exhausting!

However, the Mos Brothers enjoyed it!

Now that the Mos Brothers mentioned the elite reinforcements were on their way, Igor once again lifted his head and looked expectantly into the distance!
