One-Eyed Monster

”Now’s the time!” Just as the Skeleton Knight felt pain in his consciousness, Tobin Sol shouted, as if he had been waiting for this moment.

Not long after, the Skeleton Knight sensed a whip completely wrapping around him; it was Shana’s Tornado Whip, and he could still feel that energy.

The Skeleton Knight wanted to struggle, but each of his bones was bound by lightning, which acted like shackles, completely immobilizing him.

The Mos Brothers immediately put away their weapons and ran off in opposite directions, holding something in their hands!

When the Skeleton Knight saw what the Mos Brothers held, his heart nearly broke.

What the Mos Brothers held was a corner of a net, and that net was precisely the Spirit Binding Net given to him by his master!

In the end, this net was going to be used on himself—what an unbelievable turn of events.

The Skeleton Knight struggled to stand, trying to shake off his current bindings. He knew that if he couldn’t free himself from the lightning and Tornado Whip right now, he wouldn’t regain his freedom, as the Spirit Binding Net would fully ensnare him!

Yet just as he managed to break free from two or three bones, the Spirit Binding Net was already covering him! The speed of these rebels was simply too fast!

It’s over! thought the Skeleton Knight. He couldn’t release energy anymore, meaning he had no means of counterattack unless reinforcements arrived. Otherwise, he was very likely to become the first High Rank Soul Devourer captured by the Resistors!

This was a result hard for him to accept, yet he lacked the courage to shatter his own consciousness. In his mind, he still wished to return to the real world!

The moment the Skeleton Knight was ensnared by the Spirit Binding Net, he gave up hope and ceased resisting, though he was still curious about what the Resistors intended by capturing him.

Resistors don’t usually devour other consciousnesses, as doing so would contradict their purpose, and thus the Skeleton Knight remained calm, convinced that the Resistors wouldn’t harm him. Perhaps they would even try to persuade him. In his impression, Resistors were the kind to constantly preach, choosing the so-called right path...

While the Skeleton Knight was lost in thought, Shana’s Tornado Whip was already in action, lifting all his bones straight up. The Tornado did not leave a trace behind, and even facing one of the three knights of the Soul Devourers, the Tornado Whip continued its legend in the Border Realm.

”Time’s tight, we need to form the barrier quickly!”

For the first time, the Skeleton Knight heard the term barrier. He knew the Resistors were adept at hiding, and now he was about to experience firsthand how they concealed themselves; suddenly, being captured seemed not so bad.

At least he could learn how the Resistors hid themselves, couldn’t he?

Perhaps once he returned, he might inform his master about these methods, and his master might even pardon his ignorant mistake... Unconsciously, the Skeleton Knight felt somewhat relaxed.

He wasn’t concerned about how the Resistors understood the Spirit Binding Net’s functions or how a King Realm Soul Devourer like him could be defeated by several rebels. None of it seemed important now. He was eager to observe what this so-called ”barrier” was, how it formed, and whether it was the Resistors’ forte.

Even though the Skeleton Knight was tightly bound, he could still sense everything happening around him; having vast energy reserves made all the difference as he easily perceived his surroundings...

He felt the two burly brothers were releasing energy at two specific points, while the leader continued to release lightning.

This so-called barrier seemed like the Resistor leader’s creation—a wall of lightning blocking all external disturbances, while the brothers’ energy served as a decoy, diverting those drawn by energy fluctuations from exploring deeper secrets.

And this deeper mystery was crafted entirely from lightning—a protective net where Lightning Thunder blocked all forces from approaching, and Sol’s Secret Technique disguised the thunder-formed walls.

The barrier formed quickly, yet because lightning had a time constraint, it wouldn’t persist indefinitely. Once the time expired, the barrier would naturally vanish.

The Skeleton Knight wondered why the barrier could impede Soul Devourer exploration; did the barrier inherently possess high concealment attributes? At that moment, he grew interested in Sol’s Secret Technique, forgetting he was a captive.

Once the barrier formed, the Resistors relaxed significantly, as there was no immediate need to fight; constant tension wasn’t a solution, and rest was essential for effectively vanquishing enemies.

At this moment, the Skeleton Knight felt quite at ease; unable to resist nor having any other thoughts, he looked less like a prisoner and more like a guest.

This guest overheard the hosts’ peculiar discussions, with many parts he didn’t understand.

The Skeleton Knight heard the boy named Igor panting, even though physical stamina held no significance in the Border Realm, yet habits from the real world still unintentionally emerged here—panting being a subconscious reaction.

Igor and the Resistors seemed to be discussing the barrier now, apparently with some disagreement over it.

The Skeleton Knight’s confusion stemmed from this disagreement; the Resistors wanted to form the barrier elsewhere, but Igor insisted on completing it here, and no one understood his urgency.

”I can feel time slipping away; I’ve been here long enough, and they must be worried about me!”

”Don’t worry, we’ll do our utmost to buy you time.”

”My sole reason for staying here is to seek justice for Nonoa!”

Igor’s remorse towards Nonoa had entirely transformed into motivation, and within this barrier, Igor was ready to fully unleash that drive...
