One-Eyed Monster

”Oh, hahaha, is that so.” The Soul Devourer Master responded indifferently, his laughter said it all.

Everyone was using their own power to resist the Soul Devourers, and the entire Soul Devourers Legion was controlled by the Soul Devourer Master alone. Previously, he could release a bunch of yellow energy light balls, but now he could command the entire legion to attack.

He had countless spells in his mind, all absorbed from the devoured Soul Devourers. He had countless ways to launch attacks, some of the devoured Soul Devourers mastered many formations, and now those formations were also in his mind.

Whether it’s spells or formations, he can easily switch them out.

Wind, rain, thunder, lightning, earth, wood, water, fire, all kinds of natural elements he could use, as long as he wanted, he could crush anyone.

But he still preferred to use the simplest means to attack. The ultimate goal of all spells and formations was to destroy by releasing energy, but the more unexpected the method, the more it could hurt people invisibly.

Energy attacks cut out many unnecessary troubles; simply throw an energy ball, blast everything away, direct yet straightforward, and can also create fear, saving lots of unnecessary trouble. Those grandiose spells and formations ultimately aim for the same effect.

Of course, he knew that being direct diminished the fun, at least the fear only existed for a moment; once the energy ball annihilated someone, the fear naturally vanished too.

The Soul Devourers were his entire capital, his endless source of energy. Now he used these Soul Devourers to attack the Resistors to show them how powerful his strength was.

But these Resistors were a bunch of blockheads, completely unable to understand his power, always tangling with him over trivial matters.

He was conflicted, on one hand wanting to bombard the Resistors with endless energy balls, on the other hand desiring to enjoy the pleasure of crushing them!

So conflicted, he didn’t know whether he should show some of his power at this moment.

The only person who could destroy him was himself.

This was indeed a fact; his power was infinite now, he would never face energy depletion, while this group of Resistors could face energy depletion at any time.

But these guys stubbornly resisted, and their mouth wouldn’t yield either.

Especially Sol, clearly powerless against him now yet still mouthing off, constantly accusing him of being wrong all along. Whether wrong or not really wasn’t important now, thinking about it at this moment was entirely unnecessary... Truly, what on earth was inside Sol’s mind?

In fact, Sol was quite torn at this moment too; he realized that the Soul Devourer Master’s energy was truly unpredictable, completely endless. But he knew he couldn’t give up just like that, yet how to bring harm to this bastard? Right now, he had no clue at all!

This was indeed a difficult problem; solving it was very challenging, requiring some time, so he could only keep stalemating.

Sol knew the Soul Devourer Master still had some tricks up his sleeve, yet he wasn’t initiating an attack now, showing he’s hesitant, and Sol needed to exploit this hesitation.

The Soul Devourer Master truly was a conflicted man, liking simple and direct attack styles, yet never resorting to them, as seen when he mistakenly thought Igor was the Agent of Destruction, using a bewitching method that was just as complex as any formation. Yet he used it, intending to flaunt his abilities...

No matter how roundabout, the Soul Devourer Master just wanted to flaunt his strength, and perhaps this was his biggest flaw.

To effectively deal with the Soul Devourer Master, Sol and these Resistors devised many methods, but these zombie-like Soul Devourers disrupted them, preventing them from maintaining their formation, even making them suspect if it was deliberately done by the Soul Devourer Master...

Could it be that the Soul Devourer Master had foreseen their plan, hence obstructed its implementation in this way?

In fact, all their speculations were wrong. The Soul Devourer Master simply wanted to flaunt his skills...

The Soul Devourer Master always wanted to crush others with his strength, but always desired to receive others’ praise before crushing them.

If before launching an attack, Sol and others directly exclaimed, ”Wow, this opponent’s power is truly formidable, unprecedentedly strong, before such strength we are mere ants...” If Sol and others had said that, the Soul Devourer Master might not be so torn now.

But no sensible opponent would say such things; when facing a powerful enemy, a rational opponent would never praise the opponent, for that only displayed their weakness...

The Soul Devourer Master’s morbid need for praise always prevented him from attacking decisively, making the release of energy balls intermittent.

This also greatly bewildered his opponents, never allowing them to grasp his true attack methods clearly.

Even an adept Hunter like Sol was quite familiar with the Soul Devourer Master, yet dared not claim complete understanding of his attack methods.

Now, the Soul Devourer Master felt a bit irritated by Sol’s words, pondering, could these Resistors actually make him self-destruct? What a joke, given their pitiful skills, besides Sol, the others were all trash, and this trash could make him self-destruct, impossible!

Obviously, it’s his strength that’s not displayed enough; no, he must find another way to flaunt his power.

The Soul Devourer Master wondered where these idiots got the confidence that they could bewitch him into self-destruction.

Thinking back and forth, the Soul Devourer Master realized it was from that group of reinforcement troops at the outskirts of the Sea of Fire.

This motley crew, truly believing such a handful could bring change, wishful thinking!

Let these folks see the true disparity in strength.

The Soul Devourer Master waved, energy balls fired one after another at the Sea of Fire outskirts. At this moment, he felt the simple attack style quite satisfying again.

Not only that, he commanded the burning Soul Devourers on the outskirts to launch suicide attacks, this combined assault pushed the Resistors’ reinforcements back several steps...

”Hahaha, let’s see if you still have any tricks!”

Sol shrugged, ”You’ve always been wrong. Do you really think we Resistors are the only ones in the Border Realm who despise your kind?”

The Soul Devourer Master was stunned, ”Could there be a third force?”
