One-Eyed Monster

Igor’s sword energy took another step forward compared to before. If someone were by his side at this moment to keep track, they would surely be very shocked.

Because Igor’s sword energy had gone from initial rank directly to the King Realm, such a leap displayed as extremely unusual in this short span of time.

Initially, it was just the burst of sword energy, like an arrow leaving the bow, the power of the initial rank sword energy was at best like the power of an arrow; later the sword energy was like a rainbow, capable of shattering stones, the power of intermediate rank sword energy could already intimidate all directions; high rank sword energy was invisible and formless, a single move could make mountains tremble, seas churn; finally, above high rank, the sword energy was like a wandering spirit, capable of overturning heaven and earth, flying freely.

Igor himself was not sure how these changes happened. Everything occurred as naturally as his breathing, with no difficulty. He himself did not realize his energy was also starting to grow.

For normal people, such rapid improvement is impossible.

Even Sol now felt that describing Igor as extraordinarily talented was no longer appropriate. Sol even wondered if the changes in Igor were due to that blue monster from Guru Mountain.

But now they were all fully immersed in battle, unable to chat and discuss the causes of these peculiarities, and the pressure the Soul Devourer Master was giving them was not insignificant. A slight mistake could result in severe injuries, so Sol couldn’t afford to be careless. No matter how many questions he had, he had to finish this fight first.

The Soul Devourer Master said Sol’s attacking skills had progressed, and Sol also felt the Soul Devourer Master’s combat power had become even stronger. This was mutual. If these opposing Border Realm organizations stagnate, they would surely be destroyed by the side moving forward. Only by constantly developing themselves can they guard their positions, and Sol understood this truth well. His family fell from its brilliant heights due to a moment of hesitation and stagnation, overtaken by others...

The Soul Devourer Master’s energy waves came in waves, and his release speed gradually increased. Sol and the other resistors had not yet adjusted to this change in rhythm, and could only focus on defense. Only when they adapted to this rhythm could they effectively retaliate.

However, the Soul Devourer Master clearly wouldn’t allow them to adapt to this rhythm. He continually increased his attacking speed, with yellow energy balls continuously sent out.

Sol and Igor were currently attacking to defend, and their thunder and sword energy could effectively block these energy light balls. But the Mos Brothers and Shana could only use their weapons to directly block these energy balls. Shana managed fine; her Tornado Whip whipped around with a loud swoosh, and the yellow energy balls could only hover around her. The Mos Brothers were not as lucky. Though their swords and hammers could effectively block these yellow energy balls, they were still injured by the resulting waves after the energy balls shattered. Luckily, their bodies were thick-skinned and could withstand this ordeal.

The Soul Devourer Master’s palms moved swiftly, his body always enveloped by this yellow energy circle, which was the source of his attack. Every time he opened his palm, an energy ball would suddenly leap from that yellow energy circle...

The reason Sol and the others couldn’t adapt to the attack rhythm of these energy balls was actually because of Igor. Even though at this moment, Igor’s sword energy had surpassed high rank, he was still the weakest in strength here.

And most of these energy balls were heavily aimed at Igor...

Sol and the others often had to divert attention to help Igor bear the brunt of these energy balls, which caused them to be distracted and unable to release energy at their own rhythm.

”You people are always shackling yourselves. If you could abandon those so-called emotions, you could unleash the energy in you without being in such a dilemma,” the Soul Devourer Master mocked while attacking, seemingly enjoying inflicting double pressure on opponents with his overwhelming power — not just overcoming them with moves but also mentally attacking them with words, as if he wouldn’t be content without some verbal jabs.

Igor was immensely irritated by this, but he couldn’t retaliate. Lacking the skills, he could only defensively endure.

”I know you have more power than this; Thunder is just a part. You still can’t fully grasp this Thunder yet.” the Soul Devourer Master said again, ”You might be wondering why, with my powerful strength, I didn’t act earlier, right?”

Igor swung his sword vigorously. His sword energy could already roam freely, but there were simply too many energy balls, and the sword energy couldn’t keep up... This oppression was already exasperating for Igor, but the Soul Devourer Master kept on taunting without pause. Besides being speechless, Igor had no other strategy.

”Why don’t you guess why I didn’t act earlier and instead toyed with you in a seemingly victimized stance?” The Soul Devourer Master’s demeanor was despicable, despicable to the core.

Igor trembled with rage, but he couldn’t panic. Sol, as well as the Mos Brothers, helped him bear quite a lot of energy ball attacks. However, other than Sol being able to sporadically release Lightning Ball attacks on the Soul Devourer Master, no one else could effectively hit him, which was a stark contrast to the previous scenario. Initially, the Soul Devourer Master didn’t fight back at all, completely at the receiving end, and it happened over and over again... Now, the Soul Devourer Master suddenly exerted force, transforming from the victim to the abuser, a change hard to comprehend.

”See, the Lightning in the sword energy appeared again, this is what I’ve been waiting for. I’ve pondered for a long time about how to awaken you. Now it seems your way doesn’t work at all. I’ll still proceed my own way.” The Soul Devourer Master talked to himself, providing Sol and others an explanation of sorts.

Awakening Igor, this phrase was odd. Could it be that there was a dormant side in Igor? What the Soul Devourer Master said made Sol wary.

”You should just be who you originally are. Why blend in with this group and even possess unnecessary emotions? What’s the good in that?” The Soul Devourer Master continued, but his words were now more vague, more incomprehensible.

Igor didn’t understand these words. He swung his sword desperately, wanting to unleash all his energy.

In another swing, another wave of Thunder went out with the sword energy, instantly obliterating all the attacking energy balls.

”Exactly, that’s right. Release it, and you’ll awaken. Only then can the plan move forward perfectly!” Igor’s slashes made the Soul Devourer Master very pleased.
