One-Eyed Monster

Igor looked expectantly into the distance...

At the border of the Sea of Fire, apart from Ostro, Odin, and other leaders, a few more figures sporadically appeared, immediately joining the battle like Odin. Clearly, these figures are also the Resistors.

Igor’s understanding of the Resistor alliance is not long; it has only been a short while. The Resistors themselves elected seven leaders and one alliance master, and the rest are elites. The reinforcements the Mos Brothers spoke of are these elites.

The strength of these elites is naturally a bit lower than that of the leaders, but Resistors are individuals in the Border Realm who possess self-awareness. These fellows, to avoid falling to the fate of Soul Devourers, exert themselves fiercely to enhance their strength, all reaching High Rank levels...

Although the number of Soul Devourers is large, the Resistors have formidable strength, so in this Border Realm, the balance of power is displayed as a stalemate.

These elite figures appeared sporadically at the edge of the Sea of Fire, quickly encircling the area. Now, the Soul Devourers inside not only have to deal with the three leaders, Mos Brothers and Shana, but also face a large group of Resistors, indeed caught between two fronts!

Yet these Soul Devourers have completely lost their self-awareness, entirely sealed away by the Soul Devourer Master.

”See, what did I say? Throughout time, you can rely on no one but yourself!” the Soul Devourer Master said.

The sporadic emergence of these elite members indeed altered the situation, giving the Soul Devourer Master more opponents. However, he doesn’t mind the emergence of such opponents much; his main rival is still Sol. He knows that after Sol unleashed that powerful move, there’s more to follow, just like himself; he hasn’t fully showcased his entire strength. He’s slowly instilling fear, but why Sol hides his strength remains unknown to him.

For both parties, such things are tacitly understood, but the objectives vary individually. The Soul Devourer Master does it purely to flaunt his power and toy with the opponent, while Sol is cautious because he knows the Soul Devourer Master hasn’t gone all out. He acts this way to keep back-up options. It’s the prudence expected of a master, everyone holds their trump cards, never fully displayed to others, except for unique individuals like Kadi who would exert full force immediately.

Sol and the Soul Devourer Master persisted like this, Sol releasing Lightning Shackles to bind the Soul Devourers controlled by the Master, and the Soul Devourer Master unraveling these shackles one by one. They repeated this over and over, and this unseen confrontation happened multiple times in an instant.

”Incredible, you Resistors can still rally together at such a moment.”

”That’s where you’re mistaken,” Sol continued to counter the Soul Devourer Master with facts, ”We’ve never fought alone, nor have we ever doubted each other.”

”Oh, an interesting collective, but ultimately just a disorderly crowd.” The Soul Devourer Master sneered disdainfully. He never felt these people posed a threat to him; yet now, inhibited by his duel with Sol, his pace slowed from full speed prior in the Sea of Fire. He truly enjoys dueling someone like Sol; the stronger they are, the more he desires to recruit them, only powerful individuals can join his ranks, that’s his principle! It’s endlessly enjoyable to engage with such people!

”You are still wrong; you’ve always been wrong.” Sol shrugged, believing the Soul Devourer Master to be a mere embodiment of error, causing complexities in the Border Realm which originally was supposed to be a simple existence, at least according to Sol’s speculation.

”A mighty power, indifferent to what’s right or wrong. Once I’ve annihilated all of you, even something erroneous will become correct; the Absolute Truth of the world is held in the hands of the powerful.”

”Such distortion only leads to further errors!” Sol lamented for the Soul Devourer Master.

”Right or wrong, I’ll define them in the future, does it really matter?”

It’s an arrogant notion, strong power redefining absolute truth. With one’s strength can crush everything then alter an absolute truth, distort a fact, redefine an absolute truth...

This method, supported by strength, can operate, but only for a moment, not perpetually.

Because Absolute Truth is like the sun’s radiance, which cannot be concealed. Even the densest clouds will be pierced by sunlight someday.

Listening to the dialogue between the Soul Devourer Master and Sol just now, Igor felt mixed emotions within, but he firmly believed they will persist in Absolute Truth, because when they choose to rebel against this mighty power, they had already made their choice. Even now the situation makes it hard for Igor to discern strengths or weaknesses, he knows as long as he has breath, he’ll silently offer his power. His power might be insignificant, but deep down he knows it’s indispensable, the Resistors need his strength.

In fact, this is the greatest distinction between the Resistors and Soul Devourers.

Resistors don’t overlook even the weakest force, whereas Soul Devourers never regard such feeble strength.

Whether Sol or the leaders of the Resistors, they constantly keep an eye on their comrades’ circumstances.

At this moment, Igor can see Nonoa’s figure, even though his awareness had shattered not long ago, yet now he appears as a leader of the Resistors, exerting his all and unleashing his Sword Qi...

This is the strength of the Resistors.

With such strength, hope will not be lost.

As long as hope remains, there’s nothing to fear.

Igor stared firmly at Sol, believing Sol’s upcoming response would definitely impact that bastard.

The stalemate continued, the Soul Devourer Master reveling in his flaunting. He felt that in every aspect, he could crush them; as long as he wished, he could end this battle anytime.

This battle between Resistors and Soul Devourers is destined to decide the future course of the Border Realm, but the deciding power is in his hands.

”You are wrong all the time,” Sol spoke casually, ”We Resistors are always like this, never abandoning anyone, everyone exerts their strength. You might be powerful, but in the end, you are small because you remain lonely, without trust, destined for extinction.”

”Even if extinction comes, it will be my self-destruction; you... hehe, lack the power.”

”We will continue like this, resisting, always pressing on!” Sol firmly replied, ”And it’s us who will drive you to self-destruction!”
