I AM the Football Star

Chapter 189: Chapter 73: The Italian Cup Needs a Miracle_2

Round five!

This definitely qualifies as a miracle.

A rough selection shows that San Remo is truly the only team that meets Martivini’s criteria.

First, their team possesses relatively strong strength.

They are almost undefeated in the Italian Third Division, although they recently experienced a dull draw, the score against Brescia is enough to show they have solved the problem.

Secondly, San Remo is rich!

Their chairman is a well-known millionaire throughout Italy, and in the past, he didn’t take action because the team wasn’t worth it. But now, to build a stadium and leave a legacy, the old chairman is finally willing to push the team’s performance.

Thirdly, they have a connection to the elite club.

Their head coach Sotu and player Latu Yidi are both Milan legends, just like Martivini.

In fact, Martivini and Sotu were teammates for a period of time.

Sotu’s nickname ”the butcher” was only obtained after Martivini, the old captain, left.

The relationship between Martivini and Sotu is like that between Sotu and Latu Yidi, and Latu Yidi and Sogel, a relationship of one generation to the next.

The association has resources and favors its own people, is there a problem?

Finally, San Remo currently has extremely high attention.

Especially their player named Lu Yang.

To say the least, the Italian Third Division has seen a significant increase in viewership because of Lu Yang in San Remo.

Don’t doubt it, there are not many spectators for the Italian Third Division, especially online viewers.

But Lu... he has quite a few followers all over Europe.

Although what these people care most about is the relationship between Lu Yang and Sofia, and they might not all be fond of Lu Yang.

But this doesn’t prevent them from incidentally learning about some of Lu Yang’s matches.

One could say San Remo has fulfilled all of Martivini’s fantasies.

At this moment, on the computer screen, Lu Yang was tackled angrily by a Brescia player at the last minute, earning a well-placed free kick in the frontcourt.

Although the Brescia players pulled one goal back, the four-to-one score still left them humiliated, so some were embarrassed and angry, right Arnold?

This free kick position is just outside the penalty area, less than 25 meters from the goal.

Not Lu Yang’s favorite elevator ball area, it’s a bit too close.

But since Morici was not there, Lu Yang undoubtedly became the first-choice set-piece taker.

Lu Yang held his breath and took a shot.

The Brescia players jumped high, they didn’t want San Remo to score again.

Four to one was already a shameful score.

However, after these players jumped, they all looked in horror at their feet.

Because... the football went through under their feet.

The goalkeeper didn’t expect the football not to fly over from above.

Anyone staring into the air and then suddenly looking at the nearby ground needs time for their pupils to react and refocus. During this time, a person’s eyes essentially can’t see clearly and there’s a sense of dizziness.

This is one of the major reasons why a grounded free kick can score.

Lu Yang’s unexpected grounded free kick helped him complete a hat trick!

At the same time, he was involved in all the goals in this match!

Three goals and two assists, he became the undisputed MVP of the entire game!

After the match, the big screen displayed the current goal and assist rankings in the Italian Cup.

Lu Yang, with five goals, was at the top of the goal-scoring chart.

And with four assists, he was also leading the assist chart.

This number of goals is already the data of the top scorers and assist leaders of several past Italian Cups.

”It’s got to be him!” Martivini was convinced by Lu Yang’s last grounded free kick.

There are many great players, but smart players are actually quite rare.

The league also needs the players to cooperate if they want to promote them.

Otherwise, if I support you today, and tomorrow you say this and that is wrong with the federation, isn’t that a slap in the face?

And those mindless players on and off the field who eat what they shouldn’t, have wild hookups, have peculiar hobbies, and engage in political stances they know nothing about, make many people have a poor impression of sports stars.

In this regard, Martivini is quite relieved about Lu Yang.

He’s seen this young man’s interviews, mature, respectable.

Most importantly, Maniero, Sotu, and these old friends are all acquainted with this young man. Just give him a gentle nudge to keep him within controllable limits, and cooperate with the federation’s publicity. This way, it would maximize the effectiveness, right?

”Call Maniero. He has a great chance of becoming the head coach of the Italy National Team in the future, and he has the qualification and responsibility to be involved in the strategy to revive Italian football.” Martivini said.

The secretary then dialed the phone and invited Maniero to visit the federation headquarters sometime.

...

”San Remo finds the answer, Lu Yang with three goals and two assists, dominates the goal and assist charts in the Italian Cup!”

”The true god returns! Unable to play an organizing midfielder, he can become an unstoppable all-around attacking midfielder!”

”From center back to attacking midfielder! This Italian Third Division star shines in the cup competition!”

”The legendary team San Remo defeats the Serie B powerhouse, how far can they go in the Italian Cup?”

”A legend sets sail! He said it last season, and now he’s doing it!”

”Star of Italy shines in the cup, if it’s gold, it will never be buried!”

”Facing challenges head on, he never gives up, this is the young player Mr. Winter favors the most!”
