I AM the Football Star

Chapter 160: Chapter 62: Attacking the Core, Dynamic Formations_2

”A beautiful heel pass to change direction, Lu Yang’s breakthrough is very practical!”

”It looks simple, but real execution isn’t that easy, it requires high control over the body and explosiveness!”

”I have to say, Lu Yang’s shooting is incredibly accurate, his touch is amazing today!”

”Five goals, this is Lu Yang’s fifth goal in two games, his efficiency is terrifyingly high!”

”It reminds me of what Ferrari Pisa’s head coach said in the post-match interview last round, ’No one can defend against a team with two left wingers.’”

”On the pitch, many goals actually have precursors. In the first half, before Lu Yang’s goal, he actually tried a shot from this place, but the ball didn’t curve perfectly and was twenty centimeters over the goal.”

”That attempt didn’t draw much attention, but looking back now, Lu Yang’s next two goals were in this area.”

”It’s very likely that Lu Yang has already found his sweet spot for scoring!”

The sweet spot was originally a term used to describe the best position on a golf club to hit the ball, and the sensation at that spot is vastly different from others.

Later, it was extended to other sports, like basketball, indicating a player’s most accurate shooting position.

Football also shares this concept.

But in football, it’s preferable to describe it as a certain area.

However, Lu Yang right now hasn’t yet dominated any particular area, so we call it a sweet spot.

One day, when just standing in that position makes defenders shiver, this place can be called the ”Lu Yang Zone”.

”Your touch is really smooth today!” Morici came over, grabbing another assist and leading the team to victory.

Today’s victory wasn’t easy, as Femana gave Morici a hard time.

”I think it has something to do with my lucky sunglasses,” Lu Yang recalled the sunglasses he left in the locker room, entranced by the scent of milk on them.

It’s a fragrance that makes him feel calm, peaceful, and happy.

”They shouldn’t have let Lu Yang take shots so freely.” Sotu analyzed Lu Yang’s recent goal with Tom, ”He’s been in great form in this area lately, and once he gets a feel, every shot he takes is extremely threatening.”

This situation does exist.

For instance, during the 2021 European Cup, Italy Team’s starting left winger from the Naples Football Club, Lorenzo Insigne, scored a spectacular goal from the left outside the penalty area against the number-one-ranked Belgium Team.

It’s noteworthy that shortly after the match started, Insigne made an extremely threatening shot attempt from that same position.

Though it didn’t go in, the curvature and power of the shot were superb.

This undoubtedly helped Insigne find his touch there.

The subsequent match-winning goal unsurprisingly came from that area again, with increased power and accuracy.

This is foresight in football.

Beep, beep, beep!

With three whistles, the match ended with a score of one to two.

San Remo achieved their second consecutive win of the season.

In the first six matches of the season, with two wins, two draws, and two losses, accumulating 8 points, they managed to escape the relegation zone.

Femana’s head coach expressed during an interview: ”We did better, but we didn’t have Lu Yang!”

This statement completely made Lu Yang famous in the Italian Third Division.

Because Femana is not just a relegation-bound team, but a strong team in the Italian Third Division.

...

”The Wolf is Here! Chinese Defender Scores Five Goals and One Assist in Two Matches, Averages Three Goals per Game!”

”A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing? The King of the Italian D Division is Advancing!”

”Super Slayer! His Name is Lu Yang!”

”Lu Sees Injustice, Lends a Foot! The Star of Italy’s Captain Shines in the Italian Third Division!”

”Four Games, One Goal, Three Assists, Zero Wins, versus Two Games, Three Assists, Two Wins! With Lu Yang, Morici is a Phenomenal Midfielder, Capable of Leading the Team to Data and Victory!”

”World-Class Goal Specialist! Italian Third Division Youngster Lu Yang Scores in Droves!”

Looking at the flood of news, Sotu was quite moved.

Lu Yang adapted extremely well to the intensity of the Italian Third Division matches.

This couldn’t be separated from the training with the Star of Italy, which helped him grow a lot.

Now, Lu Yang even seems like a versatile warrior, capable of doing any job.

Even Sotu wonders if Lu Yang will really become a second version of himself?

Although he believes he could also dominate the lower leagues back then, well, at least Sotu admits his shooting wasn’t as good as Lu Yang’s.

This kid, there’s simply no template for him in European football.

Some might feel he resembles himself, Carrel, or Best, but Sotu knows it’s none of those; Lu Yang’s playing style seems to have descended from another world.

Who taught him this aggressive full-back playing as a winger style?

Ordinary youngsters don’t just lack the courage, they can’t even imagine this.

”Lu Yang, it’s time for us to discuss your playing style.” In Sotu’s office, there was Tom, Lu Yang, and Morici.

The issue they need to resolve today is... Lu Yang’s attack and defense problems. Lu Yang may not continue playing left-back, but whenever needed, he can appear in the left-back position.

Therefore, Lu Yang requires a specific left-back tactic.

Can both offense and defense be combined?

Some say it’s possible.
