I AM the Football Star

Chapter 163: Chapter 63: Sofia Scandal Incident!

Fortunately, although the statistics aren’t outstanding, Sotu repeatedly expressed satisfaction with Sogel’s current playing style.

”You guys don’t understand, don’t talk nonsense, these are my lucky sunglasses,” Lu Yang said with a smile. ”The reason I played so well last match was because I wore these sunglasses.”

”Like now, I feel I can score in any way.”

After Lu Yang finished speaking, everyone burst into laughter.

Although Lu Yang has been performing strongly recently, the idea of scoring in any way is just ridiculous.

They were about forty meters away from the goal, and Lu Yang was facing sideways to it.

”Come on, let me see how you score!” Morici tossed a football high towards Lu Yang.

Everyone scattered.

Lu Yang approached the ball, left foot planted on the ground, rotated about ninety degrees.

His whole body moved like a long whip, his right foot trailing behind, body turning first, then the right leg.

Bam!

Before the ball could land, Lu Yang kicked it directly.

The ball flew towards the goal.

Jalard, who was practicing saves, noticed the unexpected long-distance shot.

He focused on the ball, estimated its speed, and prepared to save.

However, just as he was about to reach out, the ball had already shot into the net, too fast for him to react.

The ball speed was too fast!

This was a world-class goal of incredibly high quality!

The entire training ground exploded.

”Wow! Is it real or not!”

”This... is ridiculously strong, isn’t it?”

”Since when did Lu Yang’s shooting become this amazing?”

”A shot from over forty meters!”

”Volley shot, it’s so cool!”

”What a golden right leg.”

”No, what kind of lucky sunglasses are these!”

Such a commotion naturally attracted the coaches on the sidelines.

Upon inquiry, they learned about Lu Yang’s lucky sunglasses, and Sotu was quite helpless.

People believe in such things?

But the next day during team training, Sotu found that Sogel, Morici, and Naji had all bought the same sunglasses as Lu Yang.

Players within the team began to criticize the trio, angrily scolding them for not bringing a pair for themselves.

Especially Naji.

You’re a defender, why would you want to score? Wouldn’t it be better to give the sunglasses away?

Of course, some were dismissive of this.

Professional players should rely on their own abilities, not on a pair of flashy sunglasses.

For example, San Remo’s widely debated left winger Bai Zhami.

He firmly believed that scoring goals had nothing to do with sunglasses.

A day later, the seventh round of the league arrived.

San Remo’s opponent was Gubbio, a mid-table team in the Italian Third Division.

But before the match, the media’s focus wasn’t on the game.

After all, this was just a Third Division match; not many people really cared.

What everyone cared about was Lu Yang.

Countless reporters swarmed in, the scene comparable to a Serie A headliner.

Players on both sides were bewildered by such a display.

But after hearing the reporters’ questions, they somewhat understood.

Because... there were rumors about Sofia!

And this time, it wasn’t with Lu Yang!

Reporter: ”Lu Yang, do you know Kubo?”

Lu Yang: ”Um... I know Chen Bo, but I don’t know Kubo.”

Reporter: ”He’s the so-called most talented bad boy in the Italian music scene, Kubo!”

Lu Yang: ”Does he have anything to do with our match?”

Reporter: ”No, but previously the media captured him and Sofia in a coffee shop together, and your relationship with Sofia has always been... So, has Sofia fallen for someone else? Or are you just one of her many interests?”

As he spoke, he showed a picture, with an air of conviction.

Lu Yang furrowed his brows: ”I’m very unhappy with your judgment because, in some sense, you’re desecrating Sofia. She’s an incredibly perfect woman with high repute all over Europe, and you shouldn’t slander her so casually!”

”Which media outlet are you from?”

The reporter arrogantly replied: ”Republican Newspaper! But how do you explain these pictures?”

The Italian Republican Newspaper is the country’s second-ranked authoritative media institution, but its reporting angles and style aren’t always well-liked, with obvious biases.

Lu Yang’s lips curved slightly: ”It seems the Republican Newspaper’s threshold for reporters is really low, professional ethics are questionable, flaunting such obvious fake news for confirmation.”

Upon these words, many media at the scene were quite embarrassed.

Because, in fact, they were also here to verify this issue.

Unable to reach Sofia’s side, Lu Yang was right there in San Remo, nowhere to run to.

”Hahaha... You’re a football player, discussing the professionalism of journalists with me? Do you know what being a journalist means?” The reporter sneered at Lu Yang, openly mocking him, and showed his press card.

At this point, team staff already wanted to take Lu Yang away.

Such situations would greatly affect Lu Yang’s game state.

But Lu Yang refused the staff’s offer and responded: ”Just from this picture you brought to question me, first you need to know, the camera can manipulate perspective.”

”Many people who aren’t sensitive to cameras don’t notice this, but I can teach you. Look here, do you see this table? It should be square, but in the picture, it looks rectangular, evidence that distance is significantly shortened by the camera.”

”So Sofia and Kubo’s actual distance exceeds a meter, not as close as the picture suggests. They are not at all intimate, that’s the first point.”
