I AM the Football Star

Chapter 170: Chapter 66: The San Remo Sunglasses Principle

In the 80th minute of the match, Lu Yang, who was on fire today, activated the second special effect of the Perpetual Motion Machine.

He delivered another cross from the flank, this time precisely landing on top of Sogel’s head.

The ball hit the back of the net.

San Remo five to zero!

The players of Gubbio looked ashen-faced.

Damn... how did it suddenly turn out like this?

Is San Remo really just a new team in the Italian Third Division?

Why does it feel like they’re absurdly strong?

Several players cast a resentful glance at player number five, after all, he was the one who activated Lu Yang’s divine intervention mode.

Two goals and two assists!

Fastest goal in the Italian Third Division!

Longest goal in the Italian Third Division!

A stunning world-class volley comparable to Carrel!

An amazing free-kick tactic!

Lu Yang’s performance in this match was simply perfect.

What?

Was someone complaining about Lu Yang losing possession too much before?

That’s non-existent, any player who loses possession that many times and still scores two goals and provides two assists can play like this all the time.

Fans and the team wouldn’t complain, they’d be delighted instead.

In the 89th minute of the match, Naji made another mistake.

The opposing side launched a counterattack down San Remo’s right flank with a low cross in front of the goal.

Naji, tall with long legs, chose to directly kick the ball into his own goal to prevent the opposing player from scoring, resulting in an own goal.

Only then did Gubbio manage to score a face-saving goal.

When the referee blew the final whistle, the players of Gubbio quickly dashed into the player tunnel, too embarrassed to remain on the field.

A total of six goals were scored in the match, and none were credited to them.

It truly was humiliating.

And Naji, once again, got a furious scolding from Coach Sotu.

...

After the match, Sotu brought Lu Yang to attend the press conference.

Since major media outlets were still present, this post-match conference remained high-profile.

The reporters were very satisfied with Lu Yang’s performance and were also very interested in the conflict between Lu Yang and the opposing player.

Reporter: ”Mr. Lu Yang, did you have an unpleasant encounter with the opposing player in the player tunnel?”

Lu Yang: ”Yes, he was slandering Sofia, so I stepped in to stop him and told him that if he doesn’t want to play soccer, I could accompany him in some more intense activities.”

Reporter: ”Uh... were you threatening him?”

Lu Yang: ”Obviously not, if you don’t believe me, you can ask him.”

Reporter: ”On the pitch, your targeted playing style is harmful to the team, have you considered that? You lost possession too many times today.”

Lu Yang: ”I was just playing according to the coach’s instructions. Coach Sotu believed that targeting the opposing defensive midfielder was the best tactic for this match. And the facts proved it; this is Coach Sotu for you, a severely underrated tactical master!”

Sotu was momentarily speechless.

Did I ever tell you to play reckless soccer?

You really are... like a worm in my stomach!

Sotu coughed twice: ”Indeed, in fact, our coaching staff has thoroughly studied Gubbio. They’re quite good, but unfortunately, I managed to detect the flaws in their tactics, so I instructed Lu Yang to focus on breaking through the opposing defensive midfielder in this match...”

Sotu spoke eloquently, as if a radiant glow was emanating from him.

It was a glow named ”Tactical Master.”

Meanwhile, in a hotel in Spain.

Sofia turned off the TV, checked the time, and asked: ”Are you ready?”

The agent nodded: ”All authoritative media from Spain are here, as well as those from Italy, France, Germany, the United Kingdom...”

Sofia nodded and then went downstairs with her agent.

Suddenly, flashlights burst forth, dazzling everyone so much they couldn’t open their eyes.

In the eyes of the public, Sofia walked to the front of the stage and began speaking: ”Thank you all for coming to this press conference. I will be here to address some of the news about me circulating in the public domain.”

”I do not wish for any more rumors to spread. If they do, I will choose to take legal action to protect my reputation.”

”By the way, are reporters from the Italian Republican Newspaper present?”

Someone raised their hand in the crowd.

Sofia smiled slightly and pointed toward the door: ”Sorry, you are not welcome here, please leave.”

The person was stunned.

Is Sofia crazy?

They’re the second most authoritative media in Italy, how does Sofia dare?

However, remembering how Sofia dared to expose even Italy’s godfather-level directors back then, what wouldn’t she dare to do?

She and her little boyfriend are really like mad dogs.

Never giving villains any face.

They really hold grudges!

Undoubtedly, Sofia’s attitude is a response to the earlier conflict between Lu Yang and the Italian Republican Newspaper media reporter.

Previously, the Republican Newspaper had just published a piece criticizing Lu Yang.

Criticizing Lu Yang from multiple aspects like performance and attitude, labeling him as just a small low-level league player who doesn’t focus on soccer but instead clings to wealthy women, choosing crooked paths to fame and so on.

Riding on the heat of Sofia’s scandal, the criticism spread widely.

This is also one of the main reasons Sofia decided to hold a press conference.

”Once you leave, our press conference will begin officially.” Sofia didn’t forcibly evict him, but... saying this was akin to... quietly getting the hint!

This time, the reporter from the Republican Newspaper had no choice but to leave, otherwise, the other reporters would have forcibly evicted them.

Then, Sofia officially started the conference proceedings.
