I AM the Football Star

Chapter 157: Chapter 61: Milky Sunglasses, San Remo’s Left Corridor 1.0_2

Back to the field.

Because Morici is not considered a top-notch midfield commander, facing such fierce pressing, San Remo’s offense cannot be executed.

However, the presence of Lu Yang and Latu Yidi also makes San Remo’s defense relatively stable.

The two sides entered a grinder-like contest with highly frequent changes in ball possession.

Bam!

After a tussle, Morici controlled the football and initiated his fast pass-and-shoot technique.

Bai Zhami sprinted quickly, successfully got the ball, and attempted to breach the opponent’s defense.

But the opponent’s midfield rushed in too fast, and Bai Zhami, facing a double team, could only choose to pass the ball back to the advancing Lu Yang.

Lu Yang does not fear losing position because Latu Yidi is behind him.

With the example from the last match, San Remo quickly formulated corresponding running plans based on Lu Yang’s playing style.

When Lu Yang advanced, Latu Yidi, the left-side midfielder, dropped to the left-back position to prevent anyone from exploiting the space behind Lu Yang.

Although this meant Latu Yidi couldn’t go forward to assist Lu Yang, Lu Yang had proven in the last match that his left winger—oops, his left-back—didn’t need support; he can create threat.

Latu Yidi was happy to have it easy.

Let him do what he’s most skilled at, that’s what he likes.

Sotu would give him offensive tasks only if he had a headache.

Although Latu Yidi is not without scoring on long shots, he really doesn’t like rushing forward to swing his leg with force.

If he misses, fans will lament him for wasting a chance.

Not everyone can face the blame for missing good opportunities.

This is also why Latu Yidi’s offense wasn’t developed when he was young; his psyche wasn’t strong enough at that time.

This can also extrapolate an important point.

That is... players who often attempt shots, whether in basketball or soccer, at least have one basic quality to become a superstar, which is daring!

Bam!

After Lu Yang eased Bai Zhami’s pressure, Bai Zhami decisively cut inside upon receiving Lu Yang’s pass, and without shaking off the opponent, boldly attempted a long-range shot.

The shot was successfully blocked by the opponent.

At the same time, the opponent seized the first point of impact and furiously attacked the space behind Lu Yang.

Lu Yang quickly tracked back, while Latu Yidi moved to the left-back position, swapping defensive roles with Lu Yang.

However, the opponent merely feinted, using their flank to transfer the ball quickly to San Remo’s right side.

San Remo’s right side was not focused enough; Versachi had just attempted to thrust forward for the point, leaving a gap behind.

Then the opponent’s left winger made a cross, passing the ball into San Remo’s right side half-space.

That was an open space.

Bam!

The opponent’s midfielder fired a shot.

The ball hit the crossbar and bounced into the net.

Goalkeeper Jalard expressed powerlessness; this was a miracle ball, and no one could intercept it.

Center-back Palacios was scolding right-back Matias for not retracting to defend earlier.

The ball should have seen Matias rush towards it when the opponent’s left winger made the horizontal pass.

Although retracting would allow the opponent to go wide and break through the flank successfully,

The threat from a cross is never greater than a central shot near the penalty box.

This is tactically determined.

It’s okay to let the opponent make wide crosses, but not mid-range central shots.

Matias was somewhat troubled; earlier, being two-on-one, no matter how he struggled, it was useless.

”Oh, beautiful counterattack! Yes, this was a counterattack! The opponent countered Lu Yang’s advance!” the commentator thought clearly, ”Although this goal was due to the mistakes of San Remo’s right-back and center-back, it was actually because right midfielder Versachi was out of position.”

”And Versachi’s loss of position was to cooperate with Lu Yang’s advance. Also, Morici bears some responsibility, as he instinctively moved to fill Latu Yidi’s position when the opponent attacked Lu Yang’s back.”

”This created a void on San Remo’s right side, allowing the opponent to exploit the half-space.”

”Attacking fullbacks will create many issues for the team; it’s something Sotu will need to address moving forward.”

Beep!

The match restarted.

Lu Yang immediately showcased his non-stick attribute.

In the thirty-sixth minute of the first half, Lu Yang launched another flank combination with Bai Zhami on the opponent’s left-side area.

Bai Zhami’s offensive combination skills are indeed lacking, but he can manage basic flank combinations.

At least... he has no problem acting as a passing pillar for Lu Yang.

Thus, Lu Yang and Bai Zhami made a wall pass combination on the wing, successfully shaking off the opponent’s midfielder.

Then, facing the opponent’s right-back, Lu Yang performed a heel flick and changed direction, opting to cut inside.

C Luo’s heel flick change direction to beat the defender!

The move was just too sudden; the opponent’s right-back lacked explosive power and couldn’t catch up to Lu Yang.

After catching up to the ball, Lu Yang didn’t continue to cut inside or dribble to find a better angle or position; instead, he made a direct violent shot!

Bam!

The ball hit the goalpost and deflected into the net!

This goal was almost identical to the earlier goal by Femana!

The same long-range scoring!

The same hitting the crossbar post!

The same outside the penalty box’s left side area!

The score is tied at one to one!

The commentator immediately started amending his earlier remarks: ”Of course, while Lu Yang’s style may cause certain defensive issues, their offensive impact is indeed noticeable.”
