Chapter 23: Chapter 23: Unknown Terror

On the dark long street, zombies roared forward.

The three holding weapons, while clearing zombies, advanced along the street. Leading was a man in a gray trench coat, his eyes shining with a faint blue light in the darkness.

The trench coat man held a short sword, his hand speed extremely fast, every swing took down a zombie. Facing the continuous stream of zombies, he frowned and said:

”We just cleaned this area before, the zombies have increased again, it should be attracted by Old third hei’s previous fight.”

Standing to his left, the person holding a stick and constantly striking zombies cautiously said, ”Captain, I heard the Nun is nearby, should we be more careful.”

Another haggard-faced person inhaled sharply and said, ”Hiss, I heard the Nun acts bizarrely and is ruthless when killing, even to her own people.”

The trench coat man coldly chided, ”If you don’t want to die, don’t casually comment on the Lords of the Apocalypse.”

······

Su Changxing leaned against the windowsill, solemnly said, ”Delete those videos, after you’re done, let me see.”

Shen Jinxuan complied, deleted the videos on her phone, and showed the album to Su Changxing.

Su Changxing pretended to take a glance, but in fact, he couldn’t see the contents on the phone at all. He nodded and said, ”Hmm, Ms. Reporter, what’s your name.”

”Shen Jinxuan.”

”I’ll leave in a moment, don’t mind me.”

Shen Jinxuan shook her head quickly and said, ”I don’t mind at all.”

Su Changxing looked at her slightly fearful expression, secretly thought she probably minds, then pulled out a bottle of water from his backpack, taking a big gulp, replenishing the water lost in combat.

Shen Jinxuan stared intently at the bottle in Su Changxing’s hand and tentatively asked, ”Can I······”

”No.”

Su Changxing decisively refused, drank another large gulp, finishing the water, then said, ”You can exchange points for food.”

Shen Jinxuan sighed and complained, ”I don’t have any points left, I spent it on the food from someone called Lucky Child on the forum.”

”Speaking of which, that person is really greedy, a bottle of water actually costs 100 points, as if calculated knowing most people only have a hundred points.”

Su Changxing didn’t respond, placing the empty bottle on the ground, seemingly remembering the ID was indeed Lucky Child.

Shen Jinxuan continued to ask, ”Can I get it on credit, I’ll repay you points later.”

Suddenly, Su Changxing looked out the window and said gravely, ”Don’t speak.”

”Huh?”

Shen Jinxuan also looked out the window and saw three figures clearing zombies from the other end of the street, moving in this direction.

Su Changxing noticed the man leading the group moved with an eerie speed, each time he wielded his weapon, his arm would accelerate abnormally, using extremely high speed, the short sword pierced through a zombie’s skull in an instant.

This kind of power and speed was beyond ordinary.

The three came nearby, checked the bodies on the ground already gnawed by zombies, and directly walked toward the Mysterious Shop. One person disappeared into the light, reappearing in a few minutes.

Su Changxing guessed they came specifically to check what had been exchanged at the Mysterious Shop to assess Su Changxing’s situation.

The haggard-faced person emerged from the Mysterious Shop and said, ”Captain, the rare resources in the shop have been completely exchanged.”

The trench coat man nodded, analyzing, ”It seems it’s exchanged by the person who killed Old third hei and his men, that person is not simple, actually possessing over a thousand points. Let’s go back first, the zombies around here will increase.”

The three didn’t stay long in the vicinity, leaving towards the direction they came from, seemingly not intending to find the killer, Su Changxing.

”By the look of it, their gathering place should be nearby, and A0171 Mysterious Shop is just on the edge of their control range, so A0173 Mysterious Shop hasn’t been visited by these people.”

Su Changxing pondered, having a rough idea in his mind, he’d just happened to bump into this organization’s territory by chance, their forces in the Doomsday World weren’t as large as he previously imagined.

Shen Jinxuan didn’t clearly hear what Su Changxing was muttering to himself, but she could infer that the three people downstairs and those previously killed by Su Changxing were likely companions.

So, is the man before her observing the enemy situation?

Su Changxing picked up the bloody Steel Saber, standing up from the ground, startling Shen Jinxuan, who was dazing, and said:

”I’ll be leaving first, if possible, you better move a bit westward tomorrow to avoid these people.”

With that, he headed towards the door, planning to use the stairs; climbing over the wall might catch those three people’s attention.

A reminder came from behind him.

”There are zombies outside the door.”

Su Changxing waved his hand and said, ”I certainly know there are zombies outside the door.”

With that, he unlocked the door and went out.

In the pitch-dark room, once again only Shen Jinxuan was left. She was startled, noticing a bottle of water and a large loaf of bread in the place where Su Changxing had just sat.

”Actually, I’m not at all hungry, just a bit thirsty.”

It’s quite strange, even though she hadn’t eaten anything significant since yesterday, she wasn’t hungry, even feeling somewhat full.

”Seems he’s not really a killer.”

Shen Jinxuan picked up the water bottle, took a big sip, the refreshing sensation moistening her parched throat, feeling very satisfied for a moment.

Su Changxing stepped outside the door, showing a surprised expression. Upon opening it, he saw two zombie corpses lying in the corridor, their heads already gone.

He walked along the dark corridor tinged with a faint rancid smell, his footsteps echoing in the space. He thought there might be zombies, but he didn’t hear the usual roars, only saw crisscrossed zombie corpses in the corridor.

These zombies had one common feature, their heads were all blown apart, as if some immense force instantly pierced their brains, causing the entire head to explode.

”Did someone use a Barrett to shoot these zombies one by one? Thinking about it doesn’t seem possible, even somewhat amusing, but the destructive effect is really similar to a sniper rifle’s headshot effect.”

Who did this?

Shen Jinxuan?

Or some other person, or perhaps some other creatures?

Descending from the upper floors to the ground floor, he didn’t encounter a single living zombie, the building seemed to have been completely cleared.

”It’s unlikely to be Shen Jinxuan, so maybe there’s some unknown terrifying existence nearby.”

Su Changxing keenly sensed danger, feeling a chill in his heart, quickening his pace, feeling like walking on the knife’s edge, the dark alleyway also seemed oppressive.

As if his sixth sense was triggered, he increasingly believed his feeling was correct, with his hair standing on end unknowingly, reaching the main street, his pace went from jogging to running, then to sprinting.

Until reaching another street, Su Changxing finally felt the oppressive force completely vanish.

This reminded him of the grey-white shadow on the top floor of the building, instinctively, it should be an even more dangerous existence.

He ran until he reached near A01713 Mysterious Shop, stopped, turned to eliminate the four or five zombies chasing him, then leaned against a tilted streetlamp nearby to rest.

The surrounding streets were devoid of zombies, appearing quiet, and time seemed to slow down.

Took a glance at the time on the phone, 1:43.

After a while, Su Changxing completely calmed down, feeling a lingering fear, having not anticipated such a crazy night, first counter-killing four ambushers, then encountering a mysterious organization, and encountering an unknown terrifying existence.

But what was fortunate was that he was still alive, being alive was the luckiest thing.
