Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Zombies Descend from the Sky

Su Changxing decided to leave this eerie place immediately. He had a climbing rope in his backpack, which was enough for him to slide down from the sixth floor.

He looked at the document with the Shield Company logo in his hand, opened his backpack, took out the climbing rope, and put the document into the backpack.

Once the climbing rope was taken out, the backpack immediately became half lighter.

The climbing rope was made of nylon fibers, very tough, more than enough to bear his weight as long as the fixed point was stable.

Su Changxing carried the climbing rope to the sixth floor, observing the situation outside the window. Dusk spread over the street, and as night approached, there were more zombies wandering the streets.

After surveying the area, he identified a direction with relatively fewer zombies. He tied one end of the rope securely to the iron bars of the window, the other end tied to his waist with a slip knot, and wrapped a somewhat tough piece of torn clothing around the rope to protect his palms.

Standing on the windowsill with his hands wrapped in the torn clothing gripping the rope, his heart accelerated, still somewhat anxious. The method of using a rope to go downstairs existed only in theory for him, never tried before.

His left foot wrapped once around the rope, and he jumped off the windowsill, using his waist strength to steady his form, facing the wall, with his right foot braced on the wall.

Su Changxing breathed a sigh of relief; the first step was completed, and next he only needed to keep pushing against the wall to slide down.

Every push against the wall, he slid down a bit, but didn’t dare to do it too quickly for fear of losing control.

After sliding one-third of the way down, Su Changxing found it wasn’t that difficult, but every push against the wall made a creaking noise above, showing that the iron bars had some instability due to years of disrepair.

He worried that this noise might attract the attention of zombies inside the building.

Shen Jinxuan, a journalist from a top domestic news magazine in the original world, was investigating a food safety issue at a food company with the police before coming to this world.

Without the camera she carried all the time, she felt uneasy, but surprisingly found that the pixel quality of the phone everyone had was incredibly high and its battery life was infinite.

Isn’t this the best camera?

This was a strange world, hiding many secrets waiting for her to discover, but these damn zombies restricted her range of action.

Shen Jinxuan sat by the window thinking about what to do. She had only eaten a few expired cookies today, and if she couldn’t find a food source soon, she feared she wouldn’t last long.

Suddenly, she noticed something moving on a distant building and on closer inspection, it was a person, someone sliding down the outside of the building using a rope.

Based on her observations, the zombies around here were centered around that building, becoming denser the closer to it. She never thought there were still people inside that building.

Due to her professional habit, she immediately picked up her phone to record a video, keenly noticing that the person’s movements were awkward, as if it was the first time doing something like this.

”He really is a brave person, maintaining calm in the face of life and death.”

Later, Shen Jinxuan posted this video on the forum.

Xueyue: Doomsday survival day one, discovered a roof-leaping master.

Reply 1: Damn, amazing, actually going downstairs like that. I admit the master chose the method with the most replies to go downstairs.

Reply 2: There must be a special reason; probably a lot of zombies are piled up below the lower floors.

Reply 3: Indeed, people shouldn’t be compared. While I’m worrying about food, the masters already have backpacks, ropes, and axes.

Reply 4: I hadn’t noticed until you mentioned it. Damn, he even has a backpack, completely not in the same game stage as me. I’m still surviving while others have started exploring.

Reply 5: The host can totally go and ask for a leg-hug, unfortunately not nearby.

Reply 6: The host’s recording skills are very seasoned, probably professional, but unfortunately in the Doomsday World, such skills are of no use.

As she expected, this post quickly turned into a hot topic. This unusual yet attention-grabbing event was sure to become a hot topic.

This was her confidence as a journalist.

Of course, she posted not just to boast, but to gain forum traffic to prepare for exchanging food later. The higher the traffic on a post, the more likely it is to exchange for food under the same conditions.

At this moment, Su Changxing was already between the fourth and third floors, hearing the intermittent roars and feeling his heart race.

Once the zombies in the building were alerted, it would be a dreadful situation.

This wall was solid enough that Su Changxing’s small movements didn’t catch the zombies’ attention.

Just when he thought everything was going smoothly, he sensed something falling from above. Looking up, he saw a zombie falling directly towards him.

Su Changxing reacted sharply, kicking with his right leg, moving his body sideways, narrowly avoiding the falling zombie.

He looked up to find several zombies poking their heads down.

Indeed, the sound of the wobbling iron bars had attracted the zombies from the fifth floor.

”Still not stable enough; should have come down from the seventh floor. These zombies are truly crazy, even disregarding their own lives.”

Su Changxing found himself in an awkward position, neither up nor down, having to grit his teeth and accelerate his descent while avoiding zombies jumping down.

The difficulty of sliding on the rope suddenly increased by more than double.

As Su Changxing accelerated downwards, the noise from the iron bars grew louder, attracting more zombies.

His nerves were taut to the extreme. Though the zombies jumping down seemed comical, getting hit would surely cause him to lose his grip and fall. From this height, even if he didn’t die, his legs would be shattered, leaving him to be eaten by zombies.

Shen Jinxuan also noticed Su Changxing’s critical situation, feeling tense herself, astonished at the number of zombies in the building. She wondered how this man survived in a building with so many zombies.

”At this height, being hit by a zombie would be certain death. Only by quickly sliding down and taking a chance can one survive.”

She then uploaded the second video.

Xueyue: The roof-leaping master, live video upload, second wave.

Reply 1: Damn, is this live streaming now? Wait, why are there so many zombies?

Reply 2: The master is in danger, still halfway to the ground, with more and more zombies above, easily getting hit.

Reply 3: I’m curious how the master survived in a building with so many zombies. The difficulty of the master’s opening game is different from ours. Respect, respect.

Reply 4: Hopefully, the master can survive.

Reply 5: Hope +1.

Once again, this post became a hot topic, quickly rising to the top, just below the wrench post, with millions of people simultaneously watching the video.

With the person carrying the blue sports backpack repeatedly narrowly avoiding zombies falling from above, all video watchers were fearful, as if the person in the video would be hit by a zombie and fall at any moment.
