Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 394: Chapter 63: Poaching Yoshikawa Feng

Yoshikawa Feng’s trap has been triggered!

And it’s the grand prize!

Chen Wen stared at the struggling male spiral-horned antelope, his mind momentarily frozen.

But he quickly snapped out of it.

New entry!

A lot of meat!

And those very peculiar horns!

Wow, this luck is truly great this time!

Chen Wen thought, immediately drawing his axe.

The struggling spiral-horned antelope, trying to escape the trap, seemed to sense Chen Wen’s killing intent.

It let out a terrified cry and lowered its head, pointing its horns, used for self-defense, at Chen Wen.

Seeing this, Chen Wen didn’t hesitate.

After all, he wasn’t sure when Yoshikawa Feng would return.

So, Chen Wen stepped forward, turned sideways, aimed at the spiral-horned antelope’s neck, and swung his axe.

The spiral-horned antelope let out a shrill cry, but it lasted only a moment before it abruptly stopped.

This axe strike opened a large gash in its throat.

Blood flooded its windpipe, making it impossible for the spiral-horned antelope to continue crying out.

Its legs buckled, and it collapsed to the ground.

By this time, Chen Wen no longer cared about being discovered by Yoshikawa Feng.

A spiral-horned antelope was worth more than a hundred ropes.

Chen Wen untied the rope, activated his high-temperature state, struck again, and dragged the dead spiral-horned antelope away.

...

Not far away.

Upon hearing the noise, Yoshikawa Feng was momentarily stunned: ”What creature’s cry was that?”

He was holding a side-necked turtle, somewhat bewildered.

But very quickly, Yoshikawa Feng realized: ”Could it be the cry of a spiral-horned antelope? But it seemed shriller than usual, no! It’s the trap! The trap’s been triggered!”

Yoshikawa Feng’s expression transformed from confusion to joy faster than a Sichuan opera face change!

Holding the side-necked turtle, he began to sprint.

His heart pounded wildly in his chest.

A complete spiral-horned antelope!

Enough to secure a top-three advantage!

Yoshikawa Feng thought, picking up the pace.

Even as branches scratched his face, he didn’t care.

But when Yoshikawa Feng eagerly arrived at his trap, he was dumbfounded.

The first trap was destroyed!

The second one was too!

As for the third one, Yoshikawa Feng was utterly furious.

Not only was the trap destroyed, but the pool of fresh blood and the drag marks on the ground told him everything.

His prey had been snatched!

”Who did this! I want... revenge!”

Yoshikawa Feng shouted angrily.

He quickly examined the surrounding traces.

He was actually somewhat worried it was the work of lions or hyenas.

If it was these creatures, let alone revenge, he’d have to flee the area himself.

But as Yoshikawa Feng gradually uncovered those suspicious traces, he clenched his fist suddenly!

”Damn it! It was a person! Someone came to my camp! And it’s another survivor!”

Looking at a distinct footprint and its shape.

Yoshikawa Feng was extraordinarily angry.

”Our shoes are standard issue, the footprints are identical, so it must be the work of another survivor!”

”Who is it?!”

Yoshikawa Feng quickly analyzed the situation.

His greatest suspicion naturally fell on Chen Wen.

Because he was the closest to him.

But he also had to consider the possibility that Feng Zhong had come with Chen Wen.

As survival entered the mid-stage, most contestants who were supposed to meet up had already done so.

He had to consider the possibility of an alliance formed to eliminate him.

Moreover, from the drag marks, Yoshikawa Feng judged that the spiral-horned antelope must be quite heavy!

If one person dragged it, unless the individual was incredibly strong.

Otherwise, it couldn’t have been dragged so cleanly and efficiently.

Worried that two contestants might have ambushed him, Yoshikawa Feng hesitated.

His suspicious and cautious nature made him afraid to pursue them just yet.

As a result, Yoshikawa Feng missed the chance to catch up with Chen Wen.

...

Back to Chen Wen.

He panted heavily, sweat pouring like rain.

As his body temperature rose, his body’s cooling capacity also became increasingly efficient.

Though it was tormenting, the effect was excellent.

His strength nearly doubled, and even dragging the spiral-horned antelope didn’t slow him down much.

”Worth it! Such a large spiral-horned antelope!”

Chen Wen looked back at the already dead spiral-horned antelope, his heart filled with excitement.

But as for how to handle the spiral-horned antelope, Chen Wen still didn’t have a particularly good idea at the moment,

Additionally, he had heard Yoshikawa Feng’s shouting.

He was certainly exposed.

How to eliminate Yoshikawa Feng next was also a dilemma.

But just as one should eat bite by bite, one should handle matters one at a time.

The most crucial thing right now, is to find a place to hide the spiral-horned antelope.

Chen Wen thought for a moment and felt that the ridge or mountain top wouldn’t be appropriate.

Those places had a wide view, and with the wind blowing, the scent would drift away.

It’s likely to attract predators.

Therefore, Chen Wen thought of the valley where he had previously discovered belladonna.

The terrain in that valley was rugged, and predators usually wouldn’t approach.

And it was more concealed.

Placing it there would be ideal!

After confirming his target, Chen Wen did not hesitate any longer.

...

Ten minutes later.

Chen Wen deactivated his high-temperature state, taking small sips from his flask.

Before him, a large area of land was soaked with his sweat.

”Damn, that was exhausting!”

Chen Wen panted heavily, removing his shirt to reveal his well-proportioned body.

He held the flask in one hand and fanned himself with the other, as if he had just run five kilometers under the scorching sun.

”This spiral-horned antelope weighs at least three hundred... no, it must be at least three hundred fifty pounds!”

Only now did Chen Wen carefully examine his prey, feeling amazed.

In this burst of effort, he had dragged an almost four-hundred-pound prey for nearly twenty minutes straight.

The ”Temperature Regulation” entry, frighteningly useful!

After resting for a while, Chen Wen finally returned to normal.

His heartbeat also gradually steadied.

At this time, Chen Wen began to consider what pressing matters he needed to do next.

”Leaving the spiral-horned antelope here, it should be fine for more than a day, so the most critical thing is to handle the threat of Yoshikawa Feng.”

Chen Wen’s description of Yoshikawa Feng as a threat surprised Yoshikawa Feng’s assistant.

Masaka, is his boss considered a threat?

I thought he was just a plaything!

Chen Wen’s expression didn’t seem fake; he truly thought this way.

A great man once said: despise the enemy strategically, but take them seriously tactically.

Even though he held a comprehensive advantage, if he just brazenly approached Yoshikawa Feng,

carelessly, he might really give Yoshikawa Feng a chance to make a comeback.

”Now is not the time to eliminate Yoshikawa Feng, as he is on high alert. I plan to first find the hippo, bring all the tools over, use the valley as a temporary base, and see if there’s an opportunity tonight.”

Chen Wen said.

After setting a preliminary plan, Chen Wen didn’t dawdle.

He found some non-toxic trees nearby, broke some branches, and covered the spiral-horned antelope.

Then, he left the valley, taking the long way to the riverbank.

First, to communicate with the hippo and have it wait nearby.

Second, to retrieve his resources and tools, preparing for long-term combat.

Third, to take a bath.

After dragging the spiral-horned antelope, he was drenched in sweat and covered in dirt and dust.

Even some spiral-horned antelope fur was sticking to him.

Sticky and uncomfortable without a wash.

...

As Chen Wen and Yoshikawa Feng discovered each other and began preparing to eliminate the other.

Near Chen Wen’s shelter.

Feng Zhong was washing his face by the river.

He wiped his face, observing the surroundings along the riverbank.

Soon, he noticed something amiss.

”Huh? The mud here seems fresh, and it doesn’t look like the work of any animal.”

Feng Zhong said, approaching the waterway where Chen Wen caught the catfish.

He looked at the piled-up mud and made a judgment: ”Someone has been here! And it should be a survivor!”
