Chapter 384: Chapter 53: Yoshikawa Feng’s Rope

Loaded the cassava.

Chen Wen felt that this trip was fruitful enough to return fully loaded.

Just the new entries, there were four.

Tiger fish, bullfrog, turtle, cassava.

And although it was toxic, there was an unknown black kidney fruit.

Thanks to the lotus providing [Purification] for Chen Wen now.

It can eliminate toxins in the body.

Chen Wen actually wanted five new entries, but that was a bit reckless.

This will be discussed after returning.

So at this moment, Chen Wen was hesitating whether to continue exploring.

”Today’s harvest is already quite a lot, if I continue exploring, I’m worried that if I find more good stuff, I won’t be able to carry it back, after all, the cassava is taking up a lot of my load.”

Listen to this, is this even human talk?

Although Yoshikawa Feng’s assistant really wanted to hit someone.

But at this moment, he was somewhat excited and joyful, even his behind left the chair.

This living Hades is about to leave!

”Forget it, let’s leave the further exploration to the west for next time, today is just for scouting this hill.”

Chen Wen said.

Yoshikawa Feng’s assistant sat back heavily.

Like going away!

...

Continue exploring!

Exploration is truly a delightful thing.

Feeling the weighty backpack, Chen Wen’s smile was like an AK with an eight-time scope, impossible to suppress.

Go back and cook the cassava, and the staple food is ready.

By then, pair it with stir-fried crocodile meat, fry a turtle egg, roast a tiger fish, and simmer a bullfrog soup.

How delightful!

But just as Chen Wen was indulging in the imagined feast, his right foot suddenly lightened, and then uncontrollably stepped down.

Chen Wen suddenly reacted.

With the speed boost of [Swift], he quickly dodged back, barely avoiding stepping into the pit.

And as Chen Wen flashed back, a hand-twisted rope sprung out, grabbing nothing.

”A trap? Or a deer-catching trap?”

Chen Wen looked at the sprung rope, and instantly determined what it was.

The person setting the trap was quite experienced.

The trap was set very standard, not to mention, it was quite perfectly concealed.

”Someone is surviving here!”

His eyes instantly became vigilant.

But after sensing the surrounding situation for a while, Chen Wen slightly shook his head.

[Enhanced Smell] told him that the only human sweat smell nearby was his own.

”The person who set the trap should not be here, looks like this is a trap set by Yoshikawa Feng.”

Chen Wen speculated based on the players’ landing range, also taking a careful look at Yoshikawa Feng’s trap.

”The rope is quite thick, looks like it took him a lot of effort, this rope should be for capturing medium to large animals, at least larger than a gazelle, could it be a spiral-horned antelope?”

”Hmm, it should be, besides, the trap setting is also clever, a must-pass place, and well concealed, I almost got caught in the trap, of course, even if caught, the trap could be undone in minutes.”

”It seems this trap must have taken a lot of Yoshikawa Feng’s effort.”

Upon hearing this, Yoshikawa Feng’s assistant covered his face.

More than just a lot of effort!

Three traps, just setting them cost Yoshikawa Feng a whole morning and noon time.

Not to mention these three ropes.

Yoshikawa Feng painstakingly used spare moments for survival, hand-twisted for three days, and finally made these three ropes.

But now, one of them is evidently about to be taken by Chen Wen.

Round spicy!

...

Since it was Yoshikawa Feng’s effort, Chen Wen naturally wanted to take it for himself.

While taking it, Chen Wen thought: The Old Buddha spent money back then, I’m not stealing, just collecting interest for the Old Buddha.

After taking down the entire hand-twisted thick rope and putting it in his backpack.

Chen Wen’s face showed a sly smile.

”Looks like Yoshikawa Feng walked towards my side after landing, hehe, this is truly a coincidence.”

He glanced around, the environment here was very suitable for hiding.

”But since it’s his set trap, it certainly isn’t just one, let me introduce you, according to some information I received, Yoshikawa Feng believes that three is his lucky number.”

”Therefore, he usually sets three traps, so this kind of rope isn’t just one, looking at the surrounding environment, it’s very suitable for hiding, and the spiral-horned antelope really likes such places, therefore, Yoshikawa Feng’s traps are likely around here, let’s check it out!”

Saying this, Chen Wen got excited, used a javelin to probe for other traps.

The remaining two traps were found by Chen Wen using reverse thinking.

Judging the location by where he would choose to set traps, he finally found all of them.

The whole process took less than ten minutes.

It was truly too fast!

Even Abel felt a bit incredulous at this moment.

Yoshikawa Feng’s character might not be great, but his skills were recognized by everyone.

His level of trap-setting was very high.

But this was experience accumulated from long-term survival; after all, he was almost forty.

Yet Chen Wen, a young man in his twenties, could actually align his trap thinking with Yoshikawa Feng’s.

It was enough to illustrate Chen Wen’s level of trap-setting.

Not to say surpass Yoshikawa Feng, but to say he was on par with Yoshikawa Feng, no one would object.

...

Among the three traps, Chen Wen took two ropes.

Left the third one behind.

Of course, it wasn’t that Chen Wen suddenly grew a conscience, intending to leave hope for Yoshikawa Feng.

Rather, he came up with a trickier plan.

”I plan to forge the scene a bit.”

With a smile on his face, but in Yoshikawa Feng’s assistant’s eyes, it was more terrifying than the Grim Reaper’s smile.

”I’ll use one of the two taken ropes, breaking it to create the scene of prey struggling hard, finally breaking free.”

”The one I won’t take, I’ll disguise as having missed.”

”After all, I’m still in need of rope, even if I’m supplementing it with tools, still making reed rope myself, it’s still a bit insufficient.”

”Therefore, I plan to forge the scene, make Yoshikawa Feng think the trap’s failure is due to the rope, so he would make better, sturdier ropes, making him work for me, after all, doing it myself is not as fast as taking others’.”

This echoed in the ears of all the contestants’ assistants, leaving them a bit dumbfounded.

Can it actually be played like this?

Even Yoshikawa Feng’s assistant was dumbfounded.

I thought taking the rope was already excessive, didn’t expect there to be a more excessive action than taking the rope.

Whose subordinate is this?

Chen Wen didn’t care about any of that.

He began the forging operation.

Having seen the data, Chen Wen was well aware of the spiral-horned antelope’s habits.

Over at the first trap, he tied the rope to the original fixed spot of Yoshikawa Feng.

Next, he imagined the spiral-horned antelope struggling to break free from the trap, pulling the rope hard.

Under Chen Wen’s strength, even the relatively thick rope couldn’t withstand it!

What’s more, to ensure he could take away a long enough rope, Chen Wen was also very careful in using a machete to cut some fibers.

Soon, accompanied by a ripping sound.

The rope snapped.

Chen Wen checked the break point, extremely messy.

Very much in line with the situation of an animal breaking it after struggling.

”Perfect!”

Chen Wen smiled slyly, putting away the pulled free rope.

The disguise wasn’t over yet.

On the trap’s ground part, Chen Wen was very diligent in organizing the concealing vegetation, making them fit the situation of being scattered by animals.

For realism.

Chen Wen even imitated the hoof prints of a spiral-horned antelope he had seen, drawing three prints in a one-to-one ratio on the ground.

And after drawing, sprinkled some floating dust.

As for his own footprints, they were wiped away with leaves.

Seeing Chen Wen’s series of operations, many assistants of the contestants fell silent.

Yoshikawa Feng is in trouble!

This kind of disguise, let alone Yoshikawa Feng, even the most top-notch, experienced hunter might be fooled.

Chen Wen, such terror!
