Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 367: Chapter 38: What a Coincidence

Listening to the appeals of many contestants’ assistants, Abel understood.

Chen Wen’s performance in eliminating Brad last night made them all nervous.

And the hippo’s excessive combat ability shocked everyone even more.

Swapping their contestants with Brad’s position, none of the assistants saw any hope.

Therefore, they united to propose restrictions on Chen Wen.

After a brief consideration, Abel wanted to negotiate: ”But that’s Chen Wen’s ability...”

”Then let’s restrict the use of beasts during contestant duels.”

Ivan’s assistant looked serious: ”If you disagree, we’ll withdraw from the competition.”

Vanessa’s assistant felt the same way.

Among the remaining people, Yoshikawa Feng and Kaelian’s assistants also stepped forward.

Obviously, their opinions were also firm.

Seeing this, Abel could only say, ”I need to discuss with Chen Wen first; anyway, don’t talk about withdrawing again, or I won’t be polite. I will come up with a plan that satisfies everyone.”

...

When Chen Wen received the satellite call, he was a bit baffled.

What’s going on?

But after hearing what Abel said, Chen Wen first felt speechless, but then his expression became a bit strange.

If you’re strong, you need to be weakened, huh?

However, Chen Wen wasn’t surprised that a group with no countermeasures would resort to such tactics.

But that doesn’t mean he would accept it.

”If strength needs to be restricted, then I think Ivan’s archery, Yoshikawa Feng and Adam’s traps, Kaelian’s physical fitness, Jamie’s local knowledge, all need to be restricted, otherwise, just restricting me, I can’t accept it.”

Chen Wen spoke directly: ”Besides, Abel ol’ buddy, if I’m not beast taming, who’s going to fill the gap in our program’s effect?”

Abel was hit at a sore spot and immediately revealed his weakness.

He glanced around, ensuring no one was there, then said, ”I don’t want this either, but they’re using the threat of withdrawal to pressure us. I personally, representing the program team, support you.”

”But if it’s not handled well and they really withdraw, I can’t explain to the investors. Many of them were chosen by the investors themselves, and if they withdraw, the investors pull out, then the program team is done.”

It seems Abel is temporarily innocent.

Chen Wen thought silently.

He pondered for a moment and asked, ”Abel, let me ask you honestly, do you think restricting me is appropriate?”

Upon hearing this, Abel decisively replied, ”No, I think it’s best if you’re not restricted.”

Hearing Abel’s answer, Chen Wen smiled: ”Then it’s settled. I have a plan on my side, like this...”

As Abel listened to Chen Wen’s words, his expression was somewhat taken aback.

Soon, he realized this was the best solution for Chen Wen.

But for the program team, it wasn’t the best solution and might even reduce the excitement of later episodes.

But since it was suggested by Chen Wen, it’s worth a try!

After all, Abel understood well who the soul of this show truly was!

...

On Chen Wen’s side, after hanging up the satellite call, his expression was somewhat peculiar.

Seriously, how did these assistants think of restricting me from using animals to attack others?

Just when he wanted to take a nap, someone handed him a pillow, quite the coincidence.

To use animals in battle wasn’t something Chen Wen planned.

First, animals are uncontrollable, even if they have intelligence, once they get agitated, he would find it hard to control them.

Even if he can control them, there’s a risk of exposing abilities.

If one were to get injured or even kill a contestant, he wouldn’t want that.

For instance, last night, after Brad and the hippo encountered each other, the hippo immediately roared to kill Brad.

Kill!

At that time, Chen Wen felt uncomfortable. He absolutely can’t accept his animal friends killing their kind.

Thus, from the start, he didn’t plan to let the hippo join in human battles.

Second, animals could also suffer injuries.

Blood is not allowed between contestants, but animals aren’t subject to that rule.

With Ivan’s archery, Adam’s traps, and Kaelian’s huge figure.

Dashing forward with weapons, it’s less likely to kill a hippo, but injuring it is a sure thing.

As friends, Chen Wen believes it’s wrong for them to get hurt for his championship.

What would be the difference between friends and slaves in that case?

He’s a Druid, not a Beast Tamer.

Third, this was also something Chen Wen worried about.

He feared that after hurting humans, animals might change their perception of humanity.

That’s something he doesn’t want to see.

He still hopes his animal friends can treat everyone as peacefully as the owl.

So, when Abel mentioned restrictions.

Chen Wen almost couldn’t stop himself from bursting out.

The incident with the hippo was purely accidental.

Who would have thought Brad, the dude, would just recklessly confront the hippo.

He got the whole story from the hippo’s perspective.

And deduced Brad’s situation from it.

Perhaps it was Brad’s encounter that made others realize the hippo’s exceeding combat power, and thus came up with such a strategy?

Chen Wen slightly shook his head.

No matter what, he won’t let it go when outsiders play dirty tricks.

Even if he has a laid-back personality and doesn’t like disputes.

With the cooperation of insider Abel, Chen Wen decided to trick those assistants using backdoor tactics.

...

Soon, Abel informed all contestant assistants to gather for a meeting.

Lin Jiawei was the first one to storm in, looking quite displeased.

Hua Country’s contestants facing targeting isn’t just once or twice.

Just a few days ago, wasn’t a certain well-known Go player targeted?

From the rules to the organizers, even their own coach was targeting the contestants!
