Chapter 370: Chapter 39: Hunting Nile Crocodiles Again

Listening to Chen Wen’s plan, to be honest, the hippo felt it didn’t seem very reliable.

It knew Nile crocodiles.

Having lived for most of its life, the hippo was well aware of the combat power of the Nile crocodiles.

Even though they couldn’t kill a hippo, some very large Nile crocodiles would certainly cause it a lot of discomfort.

When it was younger and encountered a group of Nile crocodiles, the hippo would avoid them.

Yet, for such creatures, hunting them became quite simple on Chen Wen’s side.

It only needed to roar a few times to drive them to the place Chen Wen mentioned.

Is it really that simple?

The hippo was full of doubt.

But it chose to trust the two-legged baboon.

Oh no, humans.

After seeing the hippo agree, Chen Wen also began preparations.

He held a rope loop in his hand, with a javelin and machete stuck in the ground, and carried an axe with him.

”I’ll take a look at the target first to determine which one to hunt.”

Chen Wen said to the hippo, ”By the way, we won’t communicate later, I’m going to turn on the audio equipment.”

The hippo didn’t understand what the audio equipment was, but it listened to Chen Wen.

The task this time wasn’t complicated, just needed to drive the Nile crocodile to the shore over here.

It didn’t do this often, but it had done it before and had experience.

The hippo quietly soaked in the water.

Chen Wen took the drone and borrowed the control authority from the staff, starting to look for a target.

Since it was the first time hunting, Chen Wen did not set the target on those massive Nile crocodiles.

He searched for a while and found a Nile crocodile about 3.5 meters long in the reeds on the west side of the river, slightly larger than the one hunted last time.

But not much larger.

This Nile crocodile met the hunting standards, so Chen Wen didn’t hesitate.

He told the hippo, ”Follow this little thing, it will lead you to the target. From now on, I won’t communicate with you. If needed, watch my body language.”

The hippo snorted loudly.

Splashed Chen Wen all over with water.

Chen Wen looked helplessly at the hippo, which quickly dived into the water like a child succeeding in a sneak attack, and left following the drone.

A childish heart, who knows when it will grow into a mature heart.

...

As the drone led the way, the hippo slowly approached its target.

Seeing this, Chen Wen turned on the audio equipment and explained, ”Everyone, next I will once again hunt the Nile crocodile.”

”But this time I plan to let the hippo assist, for a cooperative hunt.”

Chen Wen’s voice returned to normal.

In this monitoring room, only the voice of one participant was allowed to be broadcast, and that was Chen Wen.

Many tournament assistants looked over.

Despite the restrictions placed on Chen Wen, they still admired this Hua Country person who could tame animals.

Everyone naturally paid attention to Chen Wen’s every move.

Over on Chen Wen’s side.

He didn’t know he was already under the watch of many eyes.

At this moment, he was slowly adjusting the drone, allowing the hippo to lock on to the Nile crocodile.

After a bit of a struggle, the hippo successfully found the Nile crocodile basking in the sun.

The Nile crocodile was visibly stunned when it saw the hippo approaching.

What the?

What are you doing?

What for? Doing you!

The hippo, not one for many words, opened its large mouth and roared.

Accompanied by its massive body breaking through the water, the roar was clearer and more intimidating.

The Nile crocodile was startled, but it immediately raised its head, also roaring in counterattack.

Oh?

Dare to roar at me?

The hippo was immediately displeased.

Back in the day, when I was the leader of the herd, even four or five meters long lord-level crocodiles would still get beaten if I was in a bad mood within a few hundred meters.

Do you think they dared to resist?

And you, little guy, barely over three meters, are acting more arrogant than a lord-level Nile crocodile?

You’re asking for a beating!

The hippo, full of momentum, charged forward fiercely, ready for an all-out fight with the Nile crocodile.

Facing the fearless hippo, the Nile crocodile’s will to counterattack dwindled.

It turned its head and quickly burrowed into the river with its limbs grabbing the ground.

From past experience.

After doing this, the hippo usually would not give chase.

After all, both were just trying to survive; risking their lives was unnecessary.

But this time was different.

With a splash, the hippo dove into the water, continuing to pursue the Nile crocodile.

The stunned Nile crocodile could only speed up and escape.

Even in the water, there was nothing it could do against the Thick Skin hippo.

As the hippo and crocodile entered a fierce chase, Chen Wen hid himself.

He used the drone to signal the hippo which direction to drive the Nile crocodile, while also observing the surrounding environment, searching for a suitable hunting spot.

A moment later.

The hippo drove the Nile crocodile to this side of the waterway.

After a bout of chasing, the hippo was somewhat tired.

But the effort was worth it.

The Nile crocodile was forced by the hippo to a shallow water area close to land, and as the hippo stopped chasing, the Nile crocodile instinctively headed towards land.

Trying to get away from the hippo.

This was exactly as planned by Chen Wen’s trap.

After a rough equipment inspection.

Chen Wen took a deep breath, holding the rope loop.

When the Nile crocodile was about seven or eight meters away from the shore, Chen Wen rushed out.

[Swift] activated.

[Thermal Regulation] set to high body temperature state.

Accompanied by a rush of body heat, Chen Wen’s mind became clearer instantly, and his physical fitness was greatly enhanced.

This was the first time he applied the high-temperature state to survival.

While swinging the rope loop, Chen Wen even had time to think about these miscellaneous things.

The Nile crocodile on shore panicked for a moment upon seeing Chen Wen, but quickly calmed down.

Just a two-legged baboon.

If I can’t beat a hippo, can’t I beat you?

The Nile crocodile raised its head, letting out a roar like an engine.

Chen Wen completely ignored the Nile crocodile and directly swung the rope loop towards it.

The loop seemed to have eyes, heading straight for the wide-open mouth of the Nile crocodile.

Gotcha!

A hint of joy flashed through Chen Wen’s calm heart.

As the loop caught the Nile crocodile’s mouth.

Chen Wen exerted force, tightening the loop.

The Nile crocodile, before realizing what was happening, felt a mysterious force acting simultaneously from above and below its mouth.

Pressing its mouth shut.

This was uncomfortable, and the Nile crocodile tried to open its mouth.

But its strong biting force wasn’t matched by its ability to open its mouth.

Once, it didn’t open.

Twice, still didn’t open.

The Nile crocodile got furious.

But just as it shook its head, intending to retreat.

Chen Wen quickly walked over, leapt, and landed with one knee on the Nile crocodile’s body, using his weight to suppress it.

The hard and wet scales made Chen Wen a bit uncomfortable.

But he moved quickly.

Leaning forward, extending his right arm, Chen Wen grabbed the crocodile’s head.

The Nile crocodile attempted to struggle, its four stout legs constantly scraping.

But it couldn’t hurt Chen Wen, who was riding on its back.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Chen Wen quickly wrapped the rope loop around the crocodile’s mouth a few times with his left hand, reinforcing the restraint on its mouth.

The Nile crocodile sensed something major was amiss.

It began a desperate fight, preparing to use its signature move — the death roll!
