Chapter 950: Chapter 38: Moved Out

Now that food and fresh water are enough for two days, Su Xiao starts considering other issues.

During these two days, his stamina can remain in a peak state. As for the supply of healing items, as long as he doesn’t engage in long battles, it won’t be a problem. Bubu Wang is an amateur healer, and the Ice and Snow Goddess’ Aura can substitute part of the healing supply.

The three elements of survival are resolved, but Su Xiao is not satisfied with the current situation. Surviving five days is just a prerequisite. If the other six Contractors all survive five days, then it’s time to compete for game points.

Su Xiao doesn’t know exactly how many game points he has; the number should be substantial. His previous release of breath killed quite a few Parasitic Star Crabs, and even though Alice is hostile to Su Xiao, she doesn’t dare to arbitrarily change the game rules.

Whether the remaining six have had any adventure is still unknown. If Su Xiao is eliminated due to insufficient game points, that would be ridiculous.

Moreover, food and fresh water only suffice for two days. To continue maintaining a peak state, Su Xiao needs to seize resources.

”Bubu, I have a decent plan.”

After Su Xiao explained the plan to Bubu Wang, Bubu Wang looked bewildered.

”If it succeeds, the supplies for the remaining three days won’t be a problem. Not just that, there’s no need to worry about game points either.”

Bubu Wang considered for a moment and then nodded in agreement. A man and a dog began to set up the plan; to be precise, they were setting up bait to ’fish.’

...

Two days later.

Deep in the Forest of the Strong, a few ragged strong men are walking on foot. Their appearances are similar, all bald and strong in physique. Although they roughly resemble humans, two more eyes adorn their foreheads.

These Four-eyed Clan members are ’Guests,’ Alice’s reserve prisoners. They don’t qualify to reside on the first layer and only have a chance at freedom on the fourth layer.

They have two targets: one is to survive, and the other is to find and kill the Gamer.

”Leader, I seem to smell the scent of food.”

One member of the Bald Four-eyed Tribe sniffed.

”I smell it too.”

”Leader, we haven’t eaten for two days. If this continues...”

A few members surrounded their leader. The Four-eyed Clan leader’s pupils were cyan-colored and doubled.

”There’s the smell of blood.”

The Four-eyed Clan leader was not tempted by the food.

”What then...”

The other members gulped; the rich aroma of roasted meat accelerated their gastric acid secretion, eroding their stomachs as if burning was taking place. This was the body’s signal to urgently need food.

The Four-eyed Clan leader was also extremely hungry. After deliberating, he led the other six toward the source of the meat aroma.

As the distance closed, the enticing scent of meat became stronger. These famished Four-eyed Clan members greedily inhaled the aroma through their nostrils, seemingly alleviating the hunger.

Through the dense forest, a small clearing appeared ahead.

On the clearing was a bonfire with a canine creature sitting in front, holding a skewer of roast meat. The meat was roasted so many times its surface was slightly charred.

A dog... roasting meat!

The Four-eyed Clan members were a bit dumbfounded.

”Run!”

The Four-eyed Clan leader shouted because he saw a large pit with dozens of corpses covered with heavily scented leaves to mask the smell of blood.

”Not carrying food.”

A voice came from above, prompting the leader to look up and see a man sitting on a tree trunk.

”We mean no harm, we were just hungry and attracted by the food smell.”

The Four-eyed Clan leader slowly retreated, sensing that if the man wanted to kill them, not one of them would survive.

”No harm?”

Su Xiao squatted on a sturdy tree trunk. Just moments ago, Reincarnation Paradise provided a prompt that his Blade of Mind had immunized against a certain Mind Control Ability. The other party acted, but finding it ineffective, lowered their stance.

”Yes, no harm intended, we’ll leave immediately.”

Sizzle—

Pale cyan metal threads appeared, forming a cage utilizing the surrounding trees.

”Death Condensation...”

The Four-eyed Clan leader’s eyes emitted a blue light. At the next moment, he felt the earth beneath him rise, with an impact surging from below to above.

Boom!

Flames surged as Alchemy Bombs exploded.

After the flames dissipated, the dust didn’t clear. Su Xiao stood up, drew the Dragon Slash from his waist, took a deep breath, and dove into the dust below.

Within the dust, visibility was poor, not exceeding half a meter. Su Xiao’s intuition ability fully activated, allowing him to immediately sense the positioning of the Four-eyed Clan members within the dust.

The sound of cleaves and screams fused into one; moments later, the forest returned to tranquility.

Su Xiao cleaned the blood from the Dragon Slash, sheathed his long knife, and began cleaning the blood and bodies on site. The corpses were thrown into a nearby pit; as for the bloodstains, igniting a bonfire would suffice.

In the Forest of the Strong, there are no ’victims.’ Gamers and ’Guests’ are in a competitive relationship.

If the Gamer can survive five days, all ’Guests’ will be cleaned up; thus, the forest’s ’Guests’ will spare no effort to hunt down the Gamer.

Su Xiao approached a tree hole, where there were several barrels of fresh water, lots of jerky, dried fruits, fresh fruits, and some plant stalks.

These foods were acquired through Su Xiao and Bubu Wang’s ’fishing.’ Bubu Wang was responsible for roasting meat to lure ’Guests,’ while Su Xiao dealt with them. Within two days, a man and a dog repeated this process many times, changing locations after luring in 2～3 groups of guests.

”The stockpile of food and fresh water is enough to last five days.”

The reason Su Xiao opted to take the risk of ’fishing’ was to quickly gather food and gain game points. Once both are adequate, he’ll find a place to hide.

Su Xiao won’t engage with overly strong guests, not because he fears their strength, but he’s wary of a certain person—Alice’s clone.

Once Su Xiao falls into a tough battle with the guests, Alice’s clone is likely to show up, putting him in a situation of fighting on two fronts, increasing the possibility of defeat and death.

Therefore, Su Xiao chooses to quickly gather food and fresh water and then hide immediately, leaving no chance for Alice’s clone to act.

Su Xiao and Bubu Wang walked toward their predetermined hiding spot. Ten minutes later, they arrived next to a Towering ancient tree several hundred meters high.

There’s a tree hole at a median height of this ancient tree, discovered by Bubu Wang. Heaven knows how it was found. When questioned, Bubu Wang said it found the tree hole while searching for a place to pee and didn’t pee inside after finding it suitable for hiding.

Su Xiao found this puzzling. Isn’t it just urinating? Why climb such a high tree to do it?

Bubu Wang was left with a shadow by the throne in the Dusk Palace, so if the environment isn’t safe enough, it can’t urinate.

A man and a dog climbed into the tree hole, which stood over 200 meters above the ground. With food and water amply supplied, Su Xiao nestled in the tree hole, pulled out a tablet, and played games.

Alice’s clone limited his actions, making this the most sensible choice now. As for game points, Su Xiao feels even if he’s not first, he’ll be in the top three. Previously, he didn’t know how many Parasitic Star Crabs he killed, and after that, once the cooldown of release of breath ended, he sought trouble with the crabs again. After releasing his breath, he immediately mounted Bubu Wang to flee, leaving Alchemy Bombs behind to cover the escape, and returned four times.

When Su Xiao went for the fifth time to find the Parasitic Star Crabs, he was stunned to discover the crabs had relocated—
