Chapter 923: Chapter 12: Intuition (4th Update)

Sha, after her first time overdrawing her perception force, felt worse than death; at that time, the 17-year-old cried like a rain-soaked human.

Su Xiao now feels the same way; his brain is like being pierced by thousands of needles. When his perception force touches anything around him, it transmits back a kind of intense pain, a heart-wrenching agony, and the perception force temporarily can’t be retracted.

However, compared to the time when he awakened the talent ability Soul Devourer, his current feelings are much better. Back then, the feeling was what you’d call worse than death, wishing he could slit his own throat.

Su Xiao leaned against the wall, lit a cigarette, and held it without moving.

”Hey? Dead?”

Seeing Su Xiao’s reaction, Sha stopped chewing her dried pineapples; she thought Su Xiao was done for, his response was too abnormal.

”Temporarily... not dead.”

Su Xiao puffed out a cloud of smoke.

”This isn’t right.”

Sha just stood up when Su Xiao raised his hand to stop her.

”Don’t come near me, my perception is stinging.”

”Perceptive sting... this means the side effect of overdrawn perception force has shown up. Your endurance is not bad.”

Sha seemed a bit disappointed; she was somewhat looking forward to Su Xiao being in pain that made him question his existence.

”Enduring pain is self-cultivation towards becoming stronger.”

Su Xiao felt the sting in his brain gradually receding.

”Disappointed.”

”I didn’t feel pain worse than death, which surely disappoints you.”

Su Xiao realized the danger of learning Beast Intuition, but at this point, giving up halfway is unwise.

As time passed, about an hour later, Su Xiao opened his eyes. He had a feeling that the previous overdraw of perception force made his perception force somewhat stronger.

”My perception force became stronger, is this normal?”

”Of course, once you grasp Beast Intuition, the speed at which perception force strengthens is faster. Most people allow their perception force to naturally grow, which indeed carries low risk. But ultimately, perception force can’t keep up with the progress of strength. For close combat, perception force is closely related to life.”

Over the past hour, Sha doesn’t know how many snacks Bu Bu Wang ate, and Bu Bu Wang lay on the ground, seemingly pondering something; it looks like Sha might have taught it some kind of technique.

”Let’s begin; first, you need to know what Beast Intuition is. You can discard the word ’Beast,’ it’s just a preference for naming. What you truly need to know is, what is Intuition...”

Sha began explaining the knowledge related to Beast Intuition as Su Xiao listened silently.

[Hint: The Hunter has received guidance from the storyline character ’Sha,’ obtaining information regarding ’Beast Intuition’...]

[Guidance ongoing...]

[Hint: Detected benefit effect ’Alice’s Gift,’ Hunter’s efficiency in grasping Beast Intuition is significantly enhanced.]

...

Previously, Sha said something, ”With that bi|ch Alice’s help, you can quickly master these abilities.”

Proven by fact, Sha wasn’t lying. Under the enhancement of ’Alice’s Gift,’ Su Xiao’s thoughts were much clearer, and his ability to learn Beast Intuition greatly improved.

Two hours later, Su Xiao already knew what Beast Intuition was. It’s a capability similar to Heart’s Eye, but its efficiency far surpasses Heart’s Eye. If Heart’s Eye uses the ’Heart’ to feel, then Beast Intuition uses instinct + perception force + body to sense the enemy’s attack.

Intuition and basic perception force differ greatly. The range of basic perception force is very large. If Su Xiao senses in one direction, he could even sense up to several hundred meters. The initial distance of Intuition is only eight meters, and upgrading Intuition’s skill level won’t increase this range too much. Sha’s Gundam Level 59 Beast Intuition has a perception range of only sixteen meters.

If a high-speed bullet is flying over from five hundred meters away, using basic perception force to feel, Su Xiao’s chance of dodging is 6%~8%. But with Intuition, the chance of successful evasion is at least over 90%.

Yes, it’s that dramatic. From perceiving the bullet with basic perception force to the brain processing it, and then Su Xiao making a dodge move—there are many stages, too much time is taken up in this process. Even if the bullet is perceived five hundred meters away, dodging it is not certain.

Although the range of Beast Intuition is only eight meters, the moment the bullet enters this eight meters, Su Xiao will instinctively make a dodging move, regardless of whether his subjective consciousness is cautious at the time, his instinct has already prepared to dodge.

A long perception distance doesn’t mean a quicker reaction to dodge, and the most significant feature of Intuition is that it’s an all-weather open-type skill.

Yes, it is always on. If opening Heart’s Eye burdens the perception force 100, then opening Intuition burdens it only around 1~3.

As long as Su Xiao masters Beast Intuition, under equal strength, the enemy basically can’t ambush him. As Sha put it, a person who masters Intuition only dies in fierce combat, not from an ambush. This statement is somewhat exaggerated, but it also shows how strong Intuition’s early warning ability is.

There’s no need to deliberately use perception when opening Beast Intuition, giving Su Xiao more heart power. During non-combat times, he can save stamina and won’t suffer mental fatigue caused by a tense spirit.

Attacks Intuition can’t dodge, fully activating perception won’t help either, better to save heart power for more flexible thinking during battle.

The more Su Xiao understood Beast Intuition, the more he wanted to master this ability.

”The verbal description is basically like this, next is for you to awaken Beast Intuition. Since it has progressed to this point and with the b|tch Alice’s help, awakening Beast Intuition is not hard. What you need to worry about most is not losing your life during the awakening.”

Sha handed over the black strip of fabric, and Su Xiao lowered his eyes, secretly swearing ’damn,’ while silently putting on the blindfold. He suspected that this woman might have been locked up too long and awakened a sadistic S-tendency.

The wooden door was tightly closed, and sounds of thumps and blunt hits came from the room.

Three sneaky silhouettes crouched outside the wooden door.

”Big brother, it’s been a few hours already, Brother Bai Ye sure can last long.”

”Tch tch.”

”That woman is my type, wild, with a slender body and those abs. Damn it, big brother, do you think I’ve been cuckolded? My heart suddenly hurts.”

”Stop thinking those useless thoughts; if it weren’t for your chatterbox, we still had hope.”

National Foot Boss punched Elder Two on the head as Elder Three chuckled beside.

Actually, the compatibility between the three National Feet and Sha didn’t clash, plus they provided the Wolf steward’s special referral letter, so Sha had agreed to make a deal with the three of them.

But the three had just grasped a divine skill, Elder Two couldn’t resist being cheeky, and Boss and Elder Three were the same.

At that time, Sha was infuriated, ready to explode; when had she ever encountered such ’flirting’? As a result, she threw the three National Feet out.

The three aren’t stupid; having seen some of Sha’s abilities, they knew Sha’s capabilities weren’t suitable for them. Most importantly, they were quite poor regarding Soul Crystal reserves; even though they had a Soul Crystal (Medium) in their Team Space, they were reluctant to use it themselves. Even if given to Sha, the gains wouldn’t significantly enhance their abilities.

The National Foot’s strategy is to use the Small Energy Hammer long-range to stun the enemy after the fight starts, then switch to Close Combat with the Large Energy Hammer. If the enemy manages to pull away, switch back to the small hammer, alternating between the Small Hammer forty, Large Hammer eighty, pounding the enemy until they cry for their dad and mom, black and blue.

...

Sixteen hours later, in the room where Su Xiao was.

Whoosh~

The wind from a punch ruffled Su Xiao’s short hair. Although his eyes were covered by a black strip, he could still dodge the enemy’s attacks.

Sha’s punches came like raindrops, but Su Xiao moved sidestepped left to right, dodging her fists one by one. More astonishingly, Su Xiao was quickly twisting a Rubik’s Cube in his hand, showing that his focus was not on evading attacks, but on the Rubik’s Cube in his hand.

Observing this scene, Su Xiao’s heart rate accelerated. Undoubtedly, if Beast Intuition is deeply developed, this ability’s potential is significant. What’s more intriguing is this skill’s strong compatibility. His Heart’s Eye Skill had already disappeared, replaced by a brand new skill. This indicates that Beast Intuition can also be compatible with other perception abilities, like Observation Haki and the like. According to Sha’s introduction, her Beast Intuition already incorporates over 30 perception abilities.

”Very good, you’ve initially grasped Beast Intuition. Because Heart’s Eye set your foundation, even your initial awakening of Intuition is much higher than a novice’s.”

Sha stopped punching, Su Xiao had already completed the Rubik’s Cube in his hands.

”The deal is concluded.”

Sha flopped onto the bed. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

”Is there a way to enhance the intensity of Intuition?”

”Yes, in exchange for pure souls.”

”Alright.”

Su Xiao took out a Soul Crystal (Medium), and Sha’s eyes lit up.

Swoosh~

Sha lunged, and Su Xiao instinctively dodged, causing Sha to miss and feel a bit displeased.

Su Xiao tossed the Soul Crystal (Medium); he was going to elevate the level of his Beast Intuition, also to check the attributes of his Beast Intuition.
