Chapter 924: Chapter 13: Trait

Su Xiao opened the skill list, searching for the Beast Intuition ability. However, after some searching, he didn’t find Beast Intuition but discovered a skill with a similar name.

[Intuition Level 3 (Passive)]

Skill Effect (Passive): Forms a perception circle with a diameter of 14 meters and a radius of 7 meters, perception strength of 4+16 points (basic strength + intelligence attribute × 20%). Any attack entering the perception circle, even if his subjective consciousness is not in a vigilant state, the body can automatically dodge.

Hint: This skill can be chosen to activate/deactivate.

Hint: This skill cannot be activated simultaneously with Basic Perceptive Power; this skill cannot be used while the Basic Perceptive Power is active.

Hint: When perception strength reaches 20 points, you can dodge as soon as the enemy attack enters the perception circle.

Hint: When perception strength reaches 50 points, you can perform overload perception, achieving the effect of slowing down the enemy’s attack speed.

Hint: When perception strength reaches 100 points, you can predict the enemy’s attack within the perception circle, gaining 0.24 seconds of insight into the enemy’s attack direction based on their opening move.

Hint: When perception strength reaches 200 points, you can predict future attacks within the perception circle. The prediction time is 0.23~0.51 seconds ahead.

Hint: Current perception strength is 20 points.

Hint: This skill cannot be enhanced within Reincarnation Paradise, and can only be improved through Hunter’s own training.

...

Su Xiao stood with eyes closed in place, indeed surrounded by a perception circle. This circle formed a shape extending 7 meters in all directions, including above and below, though the sensitivity to perceive underground was lower.

The intuition ability was like an invisible sphere enveloping Su Xiao. As long as he kept the intuition active, he need not worry about being ambushed.

Su Xiao attempted to sever the spiritual link with the perception circle, not closing it but allowing it to function automatically. He distributed his spirit within the perception circle, and the consumption was not small.

Su Xiao’s subjective perception of the surroundings disappeared at that moment, as a black strip flew toward him, and he instinctively dodged without thinking.

The body performing the dodge action simultaneously made Su Xiao’s eyes brighten. This was not him controlling the body to move, but the surrounding perception network detecting something approaching, causing him to move instinctively, akin to a finger recoiling from a needle prick regardless of conscious awareness.

The intuition shares a similar principle, compressing Su Xiao’s Basic Perceptive Power to a high density and synchronizing it with his body.

Except in combat, Su Xiao didn’t focus energy on the perception circle; however, while fighting an enemy, it’s a different story. He would allocate attention to the perception circle; compared to the energy consumption of Basic Perception, this consumption is negligible.

Understanding the overall effect of intuition, Su Xiao showed interest in the ’Perception Strength’ aspect of the intuition skill, which likely denotes the acuity of perception, the higher the acuity, the earlier he could execute dodge moves.

When perception strength reaches 20 points, he can dodge instantly as the attack enters the perception circle. Upon exceeding 50 points, the incoming attack appears in slow motion within his perception, allowing for more appropriate response measures.

Regard perception strength reaching 100 points as an exaggerated effect—being able to predict enemy attacks 0.24 seconds early means even before the attack is launched, Su Xiao has predicted it.

Perception strength reaching 200 points brings unimaginable effects at the ability to foresee future actions, although it’s just a fleeting moment ahead.

Even for a moment, that’s foreseeing the future, marking intuition’s vast development potential.

However, limitation within Paradise curtails the growth rate of intuition.

It cannot be enhanced inside Reincarnation Paradise due to its peculiar nature. Imagine Su Xiao activating intuition all day; he isn’t just turning it on, but constantly training both intuition and Perceptive Power, causing skill growth through usage duration, enhancing Basic Perceptive Power simultaneously.

In a sense, intuition doesn’t need enhancement within Reincarnation Paradise, which merely wastes Resources. In normal condition, Su Xiao could self-enhance intuition, and in life-and-death combat, improvement speed would be doubled.

Sha accepted a Soul Crystal (Medium) from Su Xiao, signifying her commitment to help him improve intuition with her experience.

”What next?”

Su Xiao was curious about how Sha would assist in enhancing intuition level—would continuing blind dodging achieve it? Such a method seemed ineffective.

”Take it.”

Sha produced a notebook from somewhere, its cover worn and tattered.

As Su Xiao received it, no prompt appeared, indicating it wasn’t a Skill Scroll-type item. Upon opening, the first page depicted a twisted human figure with a surrounding circle, annotated with lines of small text.

’Perception Circle is more for early warning; after dodging, assess the enemy’s position with subjective awareness immediately.’

’Slight perception strength increase upon circle contraction, the effect isn’t apparent.’

’Attempting practice under a waterfall didn’t benefit Beast Intuition.’

’Couldn’t enhance even by lightning strike, nearly died.’

’Rain weakens Beast Intuition somewhat, but the weakening dissipates once accustomed.’

’Beware attacks from underground; perception circle lacks underground sensitivity where density exceeds air density.’

...

As Su Xiao flipped through the notebook, it contained Sha’s summaries on Beast Intuition, which Su Xiao termed simply as Intuition—its nature unrelated to beasts.

The notebook contained dozens of pages detailing Sha’s insights and developments on intuition, with ample unconventional usage methods.

Undoubtedly, this item greatly aids in enhancing intuition, at least expediting Su Xiao’s understanding in practical intuition application, yet Sha’s art and handwriting were terribly shoddy, forcing Su Xiao to guess some words given his discernment.

”Did you write this?”

”Why?”

”Did you use your feet for half the writing?”

Su Xiao struggled to interpret a string of small text.

”No, I used Beast Intuition.”

With a peanut wedged between two fingers, Sha crushed the shell, sending the peanut floating into her mouth.

”Can intuition affect physical objects?”

Su Xiao seemed perplexed; his intuition lacked such capability.

”Mine can affect physical elements; yours might not. Each person mastering Beast Intuition gains corresponding traits—mine is ’Persistence,’ plain and simple.”

Sha’s eyes widened slightly, releasing an invisible ripple.

Upon the surrounding wave encasing Su Xiao, he perceived tangible Perceptive Power solidifying the air into viscous mire.

”Your trait remains unknown for now; after developing intuition adequately, you’ll naturally discover it.”

While chewing peanuts, Sha scratched her head absent-mindedly.

”Overall, intuition’s eventual direction depends on personality, combat style, environmental factors, among others—the gist is ’end of transaction.’”

Sha didn’t directly boost Su Xiao’s Beast Intuition; she merely couldn’t. Her contribution was the provision of personal conclusions through the notebook.

Su Xiao envisioned his intuition development path; achieving Sha’s level grants the ability to predict enemy actions 0.23~0.51 seconds ahead—though such prowess isn’t helpful in Derivative World exploration, it proves invaluable in battle scenarios.

Such formidable capabilities verge on being excessive, thus Su Xiao imagined activation restrictions like cooldown periods or high-resource consumption if awakened.

Nevertheless, even significant consumption merits the ability for foresight, although for Su Xiao with merely 20 perception strength, achieving 200 points remains a distant endeavor.
